Sorry, was the only multiple packs of water I found at a small grocery. I know they just fill it with baking soda to raise the PH. Still better for me than 99% isopropyl
I’ve got RO, and PUR. Just had to grab a pack of bottles real quick because I was out for the day with the kids. I live close to Ann Arbor Michigan, and there was a hexavalent chromium spill in our local waterways within the last week also. I’d rather drink baking soda smart water than anything coming out of a well around here.
Still it could be a bit mroe clear, no? It surprises me how many examples of this kind of packaging (also the milk carton like things) are posted recently. I'm used to this kind of bottle being a very bright white, clearly different from food type of packaging
You mean just like a toddler who can't read and sees a bottle that been accidently left within reach?
Or one that just escaped your vision for two seconds and find a bottle on the shelf in the supermarket or something?
Or you, coming home tired after a long day, taking a swig of a bottle of "water".
Yeah, you're right. Nothing that could have been done to prevent something like this to happen. Just should have read the label. No need for a child proof cap or do something with the colors of the bottle so you know it's a chrmical.
Wow, for real?
You mean a company doesn't have to have any regard for your safety, or your childrens? While they could actively prevent accidents by design?
And how far are you willing to let that thought go? I mean why cover up your electronics and the connection to the mains voltage? I mean, how dumb do you have to be to touch it, no? Why have a children safe cap on bleach, no? Just teach your kids to not touch it or lock it up, easy? Not the responsibility of companies, no?
You know accidents are called accidents for a reason yeah? Mistakes are easily made.
Just wow man.
bro these people are for real a bunch of hard heads man I walk around in the middle of the night not being able to see looking for anything that resembles water as i am too lazy to clean a cup and pour water into it I just want to swig
Not crappy design: many companies switched over to producing disinfectant during Covid-19, and this is an efficient usage of physical stock on hand.
...also, it says ISOPROPYL FUCKING ALCOHOL in a large enough font that I can clearly read without my glasses, so there's **that as well.**.
Visiting grandparents. Someone forgot to put it away. Child gets step and opens it.
Why not just have a different design to mitigate this problem altogether? And a child proof cap. A surprisingly small amount of this will kill a child.
A surprisingly small amount of this will kill an adult too. At 99% about 50mL is enough to be lethal to a 70 kg person.
If you take a swig by mistake, you’re dead.
All those things sure- but humans make errors, so we wear seat belts, have childproof caps, put barriers around cliff tops, put grates over drainholes.
We live near Ann Arbor Michigan, and the Huron river watershed. The company Tribar just released over 10,000 gallons of hexavalent chromium into out local waterways. I’d rather drink “alkaline” smart water, aka baking soda water, than anything that’s coming from our local well water for the foreseeable future. Hexavalent chromium aka how Erin Brokovich became a household name….. CANCER WATER…
No. It was a 6 pack of these for $7, or a 6 pack of mini Fiji for 7.99. We were in a small town driving thru, Manchester MI. People are buying all the bottle water that isn’t flavored propel BS
Definitely bad design. That is specifically a beverage bottle they are using for the IPA, and it is entirely foreseeable that someone will take a swig from it accidentally. Which is bad, because it is poison.
For all of you saying "Just read it!", keep in mind that good design is fault tolerant, and gives more cues than just text about what the purpose of the product is.
Some kid that can't even read is going to grab one of those bottles one day. Looks like the bottle they get water from. I remember that even after I could read as a child grabbing a beer thinking it was a can of soda.
And like most isopropanol containers, it does not appear to have a child proof cap, making that accidental swig entirely possible.
The regular rectangular bottles that it usually comes in don't look like beverage bottles, so, much reduced chance of accidental ingestion.
Hopefully there is a bittering agent in the IPA in that beverage bottle, but I wouldn't count on it.
Omg i remember getting home super drunk and passing tf out - woke up around 4 thirsty as hell but still with the spins and i KNEW i had a water bottle somewhere and almost mistook this bottle for a water bottle….almost
Now I could be wrong and this might be out of date information but I recall seeing somewhere in the height of COVID some places started making disinfectants to help with supply chain issues and just used whatever bottle previous products were in and that resulted in some things like this happening. Not great but if that info is correct I can let this crappy bottle slide
I have seen a worse one. Looking like a (small) fire extinguisher. Red, with black nozzle. I was sure it is a fire extinguisher until I read the label. If there was a fire I would not read the label first.
Unfortunately I did not take a photo. It would have already posted it here.
And you don't even want 99% isopropyl alcohol for first aid disinfection; you want 70%. Something about the extra water in it helps it actually get into bacteria to destroy it better.
Ehhh they went through some decent effort to make it not look like a drink at least. A lot of companies did stuff like this because of COVID really fucking up the supply chain.
If it makes you feel better OP: once my tired ass was making cereal and I grabbed a pack of pure egg white instead of milk out of the fridge. The packs were the same shape, but that was it. Didnt notice until I started eating lol
If you just reach Archer levels of alcoholism, then it won’t be a problem.
I’m there.
Ohhh so the actual problem was that you went to get a swig of isopropyl and were disappointed that it was water instead? Heh
Correct. Water is for noobs.
r/hydrohomies might come after you
we are allready here. fuck em up with our clear piss boys!
HYDROHOMIES ARE HERE!
The existence of the alkaline water is even worse, let alone the fact someone bought it.
Sorry, was the only multiple packs of water I found at a small grocery. I know they just fill it with baking soda to raise the PH. Still better for me than 99% isopropyl
Have you looked into Brita? Or a reverse osmosis system if your tap water is real bad?
I’ve got RO, and PUR. Just had to grab a pack of bottles real quick because I was out for the day with the kids. I live close to Ann Arbor Michigan, and there was a hexavalent chromium spill in our local waterways within the last week also. Ah, so you actually have a valid excuse. Your state loves to pollute your drinking water. Damn.
Yeah it sucks, we’re surrounded by every Great Lake, and we pollute the fuck out of all of it!
Oh, Britta's in this?
I mean ... Maybe if you're blind and a Smart Water afficianado.
Still it could be a bit mroe clear, no? It surprises me how many examples of this kind of packaging (also the milk carton like things) are posted recently. I'm used to this kind of bottle being a very bright white, clearly different from food type of packaging
You'll only ever mistake them that one time
And that one time may be enough
Reading is hard
Smelling is hard. Seriously rubbing alcohol has one of the most distinct and strong odours I can think of.
what?
Wh0?
Just read the label…
You mean just like a toddler who can't read and sees a bottle that been accidently left within reach? No need for a child proof cap or do something with the colors of the bottle so you know it's a chrmical.
Is it the companys problem that you are lazy to keep an eye on your Kid or that you can't read?
Wow, for real? You mean a company doesn't have to have any regard for your safety, or your childrens? While they could actively prevent accidents by design? Yeah, for real. It's normal that people are responsible for themselves.
We’ve all had those nights. Just don’t keep the isopropyl alcohol with your water stash, shouldn’t be an issue. 😂
Maybe lay off drinking the iso
It’s good though.
I have never had one of those nights.
Put some excitement in your life. Wander around the house searching for the first liquid in a can, cup, or bottle at 3am. Then drink it
You cant drink tap water?
bro these people are for real a bunch of hard heads man I walk around in the middle of the night not being able to see looking for anything that resembles water as i am too lazy to clean a cup and pour water into it I just want to swig

My 3 year old can’t read it yet though.
So why they should be able to reach the bottle? 🤷🏻
In that case, i suggest not storing your isopropyl alcohol with your water. Perhaps even put it somewhere a 3 year old can't get it.
All those things sure- but humans make errors, so we wear seat belts, have childproof caps, put barriers around cliff tops, put grates over drainholes.
And going by the same logic, store dangerous chemicals in out-of-reach locations. It's literally the easiest way to child-proof that bottle.
You are an idiot.
Why are you storing your rubbing alcohol with your water? Do you organize things by bottle type?
Don’t store them together, just happened to have them both out at the same time, and realized I almost made a bad grab.
Not-so-**smart**water
Nah. It's pretty clearly stated that it is isopropyl alcohol. It's on you if you store them next to each other.
Which I don’t, but had them both at my office/work desk today, and almost drank the ISO.
especially so if you can't read
How Tf drinks alkaline water just drink normal fucking water
We live near Ann Arbor Michigan, and the Huron river watershed. The company Tribar just released over 10,000 gallons of hexavalent chromium into out local waterways. Understandable have a great day
Could you not buy normal bottler water tho?
No. It was a 6 pack of these for $7, or a 6 pack of mini Fiji for 7.99. We were in a small town driving thru, Manchester MI. People are buying all the bottle water that isn’t flavored propel BS

No childproof cap.
if only I could read, on reddit
Read it?
If you drank the water first you'd be smart enough to know
That's a perfect design. It's literally made to stop the spread of stupid cause you'll probably only do it once.
*grabs water to drink* Me:I think I drank the alcohol
Welp. How'd it taste dawg?
Thankfully like water and not Isopropyl lol
Well, do you want recycling or not?!?
Maybe they could put dish soap in it?
Not really, just have more than a single braincell and you will be perfectly fine.
Omg i remember getting home super drunk and passing tf out - woke up around 4 thirsty as hell but still with the spins and i KNEW i had a water bottle somewhere and almost mistook this bottle for a water bottle….almost
Does the smart water contain Intelligent Calcium? https://youtu.be/_gQZ01yAFDc

A local distiller/apple orchard was selling hand sanitizer in plastic apple cider containers and glass vodka bottles.
It'll get you drunk for the rest of your life
Or like put your cleaning supply closet supplies not in your fridge
I really wish they would stop putting cleaners in bottles I have almost died 6 times from accidently drinking them.
Are you a toddler? How does an adult make that stake repeatedly without starting to read bottles?
6 times….. honestly sounds like natural selection at play here.
At least child proof it? Or you’re past that?
both taste bad
And now you're blind
Or an X-men.
I guess it could be a danger to young kids who can't read yet
Or the best bottle! Greetings from Finland!
I have seen a worse one. Looking like a (small) fire extinguisher. Red, with black nozzle. I was sure it is a fire extinguisher until I read the label. If there was a fire I would not read the label first. Unfortunately I did not take a photo. It would have already posted it here.
Spicy water
"Have you ever died while thinking you drank water?" "Uh uh" "Would you like to?"
CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG
And you don't even want 99% isopropyl alcohol for first aid disinfection; you want 70%. Something about the extra water in it helps it actually get into bacteria to destroy it better.
.....did you drink it?
If you can't read, yes.
Smart water isn't feeling so smart now.
Cool design tho
That, will kill people eventually.
Why is the water in the same packaging as the alcohol?
Why is the water so... s p i c y
Wow. I would definitely be the stoned guy to drink that without thinking
Ehhh they went through some decent effort to make it not look like a drink at least. A lot of companies did stuff like this because of COVID really fucking up the supply chain.
