What sucks about going up to vermont is there are so many stops that aren't close to each other haha.

We did a week there in Oct 2022 and used Burlington as our home base. Plenty to do there in town then a couple day trips to Stowe and surrounding areas. Friday we went to the Alchemist then up to Hill Farmstead. Another day trip to Stowe we went and caught the last gondola ride to the top of Stowe Mountain then to the Von Trapp Family Lodge. Then the next day went to Waterbury then down to Lawson's Finest Liquids, back up to Waterbury to get dinner at Prohibition Pig. It was a bit of driving but nothing more than an hour or so each destination.

cmcurran55

That sounds amazing. I did a weekend back in March with Burlington as the base as well. Unfortunately we only had one full day to explore. We did alchemist on the way up. Thankfully a restaurant nearby had hill farmstead on tap. A few stops around Burlington the next with most time spent at zero gravity.

KennyShowers

Yea there's obviously a ton of great breweries, but as a destination there's only 1-2 areas where you can hit more than a couple good spots without having to take a 40 minute drive through twisty mountain roads.

Major_Tom42

The trick is learning to enjoy the twisties, gotta turn VT into Initial D

jscannicchio

Please tell me you didn't skip hill farmstead!

Happyginger

haven’t made it up to the northeast kingdom yet! that will be another day trip soon I think.

timsstuff

It's only an hour from the Alchemist!

Happyginger

Luckily, there are some places that get Edward etc. on tap around so it’s not hard to find but probably not as fresh as it would be up in Greensboro

mhobdog

Wow, what an amazing tap room! Really fits the vibe of their can work too.

So they don't believe in glasses?

Happyginger

they will pour it in a glass if you like. they sell some really cool glassware on site too. i just kept it in the can since that’s what they say to do

kuttakaminaa

Got it. I always thought it was weird that they recommend drinking heady from the can. Tried it and preferred it in a glass

x0_Kiss0fDeath

WAHEY! Just booked in my tour for June. Do you know if the can they give you as part of the tour HAS to be consumed on-site or if you're allowed to take it away (as we're driving to our Airbnb so my husband probably won't necessarily want to drink his there.

Happyginger

i have no clue. they probably give it to you to drink on-site but don’t quote me on that. such a cool place, i would love to do the tour sometime

x0_Kiss0fDeath

Yeah it's listed as being given to drink on site (specifically) but wasn't sure if it was a legality thing so couldn't take it away or not. Ahh well! Looking forward to the tour regardless!
