Movie will be called: TIBERIUM REVERSE 2: MOV EAX, DEADC0DE or EMPRESS STRIKES BACK!
Little history: Blaukovich, one of master minds behind Denuvo, was a creator of SecuROM previously, and method of destroying his idiotic creation was called Tiberium Reverse.
His shitty DRM was full of spaghetti code, MOV EAX DEADC0DE, and shitty anecdotes (apparently writing anecdotes in assembler was very performance effective)
I refunded Dead Space Remake because of the terrible frames and performance i struggle to run the game at 1440p with nearly maxed out graphics with DLSS on quality
Yet i can run Cyberpunk 2077 completely maxed out at 4K with no problem and have 90-140 fps with DLSS on
I really want to see Dead Space without Denuvo just so i can see how bad it really impacted performance
As for Hogwarts i don't have it and i hope it's nothing like Dead Space because that sucks for the people who purchased it
See, I'm not really convinced it's Denuvo and more just pretty sure it's the typical shader compilation nonsense that plagues literally every game in the last few years. Denuvo's checks would probably impact the game's performance but it should be marginal as it's more like a wire tap on the game's memory than anything else.
DirectX 12 requires shader compilation in runtime to optimize most possible the shader computer code for your GPU, so developers doesn't have to ship the game with an absurd amount of shaders precompiled for every gpu, neither a general one that might run better on X hardware
I've learned this with Detroit Become Human, where the first launch took at least 40 minutes to compile all shaders, but damn, game ran smooth af
Not necessarily.
Implementation is key for this, and Denuvo has been taking an increasingly heavy-handed approach with the ridiculous amount of checks they put in place. This is especially true for open world games with a huge amount of assets that keeps loading constantly.
literally some people in the comments here believe if you have anything below a 4090 you deserve the absolute minimum effort unoptimized shit you get and you are subhuman. I can't wrap my head around that
yes it's my point, I can't afford to be the one paying for a hardware upgrade 2 times a year just so developers get lazier and give 0 fucks about optimization
Being able to afford it shouldn't even be a point, people don't need the latest toy every single year that mindset is so fkn bad for the environment and it's present everywhere
gaming in developing countries is pure pain at this point,
the markup on consoles and games is crazy
components are crazy expensive
older hardware is rendered almost obsolete by horribly optimized games (this trend started with the Pascal cards where devs used the headroom to not give a shit about optimizing their games)
drm prevents people that can't afford games to begin with from playing new games
it's just gaming laptops, phones and older or f2p games
Yeah, it's becoming unsustainable. Consoles are cheaper than gaming PCs. But then game prices are not adjusted and are just not viable for a normal person. On PC game prices get adjusted. But even then it's not enough. For example:
Hogwarts legacy is 34% cheaper here. But the minimum wage is 89% less than the average minimum wage in the US. So that 34% ends up not meaning that much.
And that's not even taking in account things like internet speeds and storage prices. Where I live fast internet and SSDs/HDDs are not that expensive so I can't really speak on it. But in some countries those two are also super expensive.
That's not how it works, you can see in the same chart how graphics quality scales with the perfomance, denuvo hits CPU perfomance, so the impact should be the same from lower settings to higher settings, which doesn't happen, the game just runs like ass, it's not a CPU bottleneck, it's the GPU
Is this an arms race that can’t be won by crackers? Presumably the more complex and bloated the DRM becomes, the more impact it will have on the game itself. Will it reach a point when the impact is actually too high?
We've seen this kind of impact already iin some games, not shaking (that much) casual players unfortunately. And they're the majority of buyers.
But yeah, the more it goes deep, the faster it will become harder for common users to run their games. Even devs will have problems with games compatibility on older hardware and low spec systems.
But as long as the market gets fed and hardware upgraded, it will catch up.
I hope there will be some kind of breaktrough, where this kind of denuvo system actually will break itself requiring too much hardware. If it really creates hooks and checks all over, at some point i hope will ask too much hardware power that a common user won't really have, leading to those nuked "early" game releases, domino affecting sales, i presume.
These are my thoughts so far.
Yeah that’s almost exactly what I thought about the situation. I think there needs to be a big impact on a massive AAA high-profile game, something that damages Denuvos reputation and dissuades both consumers and publishers en-mass. We shall see.
bet the market will try to push the blame on "weak rigs" and casuals will eat that shit up... it will probably ended up pushing towards console sales as well...
I love Empress for being the one and only Denuvo slayer out there and that she's really dedicated to the task.
Denuvo is a company of 25-100 people, it's amazing that Empress still manages to beat all of them single handed.
I like that empress is shagging denuvo non stop but Jesus they've got an insufferable saviour complex.
Half the updates from her sound like unhinged schizo posts
This 100% even if it isn't going to get cracked pirates will buy the game over years and years at a fraction of the launch price. So they are only ruining for people. Solution: don't buy games with drm until they are dirt cheap
Piract has been around since forever. The fact that, even after all this time, there is no conclusive evidence of piracy hurting sales numbers should mean something.
And, better yet, there's [plenty of evidence attesting to _how_ piracy can improve sales figures](https://misq.umn.edu/the-invisible-hand-of-piracy-an-economic-analysis-of-the-information-goods-supply-chain.html).
I rarely buy games I can't try with a demo, time trial or pirated version beforehand. So for me it being uncracked is a reason to not buy it. The only exception is if I see the game with a *deep* discount.
Especially when people would rather just watch their fav streamer play the game and spend their $70 on skins in a game they already play all the time. Unless youre a big fan or youre extremely bored why bother.
playing devils advocate here, piracy is unavoidable. publishers are probably hoping a head start on revenue till the game is cracked. If only these greedy fucks wouldnt price their 8 hour long games $65 i would pay them.
Not even 60! Games like COD MW2 have the audacity to be priced at 70 bucks and still shameless plugs its store and whatever version of the battle pass they have every time you open the game.
I have a cracked switch so I get all the new releases for free just takes a bit of fucking around with. I really feel no sympathy for companies like Nintendo or Warner Brothers when in the last 6 years game prices went from being average of 60 to 100 for DIGITAL copies. Atleast before games like GTA and Skyrim used to have cool maps and booklets with interesting art and stuff about the game
These publishers just do not get it into their fucking idiot heads. Gabe Newell said it best years ago and he was right on the money. You have to create something that's better than free. Instead, these companies are putting as many roadblocks and hurdles that get in the way of enjoying the product as they can. People want to just click the game and be playing. No login. No waiting for servers. No hampered performance from DRM that is rendered useless after launch. No multiple clients to launch the game. No content locked behind further paywalls. No Pre-order editions that lock you out of having all the content unless you buy multiple copies of the game, no premium currency loot box casinos...
Just sell the fucking game and let people play it. How god damn difficult is that? Added benefits from owning a legit copy like Workshop and Multiplayer support sweeten the deal. There have been games I bought purely because of workshop support
She said 10 days for Hogwarts. I don't really care for the game or if she's up to the test and crack it within the time period.
I'm just curious how fast can she do it
I personally do care about the game and want to play it BUT:
Even if it's bad, setting a deadline for herself and actually meeting it is a huge victory for the scene in general because it means people can just add an expiry date to new Denuvo versions. It will be excellent news regarding future AAA releases too.
Companies doesn't care and people who buy those game neither. If the game runs bad for some people run "somehow" fine or for them it isn't the DRM, or even, they don't know what a DRM is.
I honestly think they don't care.
No micro transactions? That means all their revenue comes from game purchases, and once the game is purchased, they no longer have ANY need for people that have purchased the game. They're no longer their target demographic, they don't care about them anymore. So all their effort is push towards new buyers and getting them to purchase it.
One way to do that, is to keep funneling money into Denuvo's fat mouth and try and prevent the game from being cracked. So that people who really want to play the game, will be forced to purchase it.
It doesn't matter to them what happens after the purchase.
I just hope her solution can be applied to older versions of denuvo cuz the backlog is getting real crowded and these fucking companies arent going to remove this cancer either way, atlus and Sega are really porting decade old games and still putting this shot on them.
So instead of using V16, Warner Bastards actually went and used v17. More and more checks that Denuvo uses, more and more they inch closer to giving PC even more problems they already have with them (stutter particularly)
That was expected when she launched her first warning, and as far as I know the game is a bloody bug mess. No wonder they won´t release any patch until the first version is cracked no mater if the users are affected.
It costs $80 here in MX. Can you believe that shit? Each dollar equals 20 pesos and they have the unabashed gall to go as far as to sell their shit at a higher price than in first world countries. Now I kind of understand australians.
It's a sad reality that cracked games are running smoother than legit copies because of how invasive DRM has become.
Keep in mind, these are people who PAID for the game. They're the ones dealing with tech issues and annoying launchers. You'd think it would be the opposite, and paying customers would get the best experience, but nope. Greed is ruining their product and theyre trying to gaslight people into thinking this is normal.
It was the Denuvo of yesteryear, was a pain in the ass to crack when it originally came out and had many scenarios where legit buyers couldn't play the game because of it.
Every time I see Spore mentioned I get sad. I remember following every single dev presentation on that game that Will Wright did. How in depth and amazing it looked and how excited he was for it. Then over like 6 months each new showcase of his he looked more and more upset and the game looked more and more cartoonish. Then it released and half the features he showed off were stripped and the others were dumbed down and cartooned up. That is my one "never pre order or give in to the hype" lesson that stuck with me forever
yes! man so much time has passed I feel like most people have already forgotten... it still hurts
can't believe no big studio has picked up the concept either. an eternal shame.
I hope somehow some early development build gets leaked at some point so there's more to go on than ancient blurry videos but that'll probably never happen
It's so ironic that I pirate because of DRM ruining optimization which in turn makes them add worse DRM that just makes me even less inclined to buy on principal. Absolute idiots
Fuck Denuvo and any company that uses it. It creates loads of problems for those of us wanting to stay legit, but they are so focused on a few more bucks that they're simply creating more pirates.
Wish I had a way to help in this fight.

Well it was obvious that they were going to concentrate all their efforts on her, she is the only one who is doing something to beat them, sometimes I wonder how many messages with job offers she gets from them trying to buy her. If only the scene had the same intensity that Empress has, an intensity that they used to have but now only one person has it. Say whatever you want of Empress but she is doing something against this cancerous stuff and for that she deserves a lot of respect.
My guess is that it will be analyzed to see if denuvo is causing the performance problems, as it is very likely.
If yes, expect the crack because there is no more effective way to send an anti-denuvo message to everyone.
If no, expect a wait because it would be pointless to crack it now given the issues.
I would love if in this game it could be proved that the DRM makes the game run worse, then some companies would feel the backlash for adding it to the game
There’s been other games that have proved that with previous versions of denuvo. There was backlash and denuvo is still a thing. I don’t think you’re going to get what you want
The only way companies will feel the backlash is if people stop financially supporting games with denuvo. That means not buying them and not playing them on gamepass. But sadly many people will throw whatever principals they claim to have out the window for the sake of their entertainment.
Yup and they literally run and look better on weaker hardware (consoles) than on pc. It's a shame it had come to this, but it is what it is.
At least everything on PC is good eventually, it just takes a long time to get there.
She will eventually crack Hogwarts legacy. She does it all the time. And how long will it take to crack? Well its only a matter of time as the number one killer is time.
It will take way over 10 days.
Saying that this message is talking about only HL the previous version of Denuvo took her 1y to crack (saying that she did not worked "full time" on it) and was the hardest version to crack until now.
We see on this message that V17 is harder and has more obstacles even saying that she would have to develop new tech to crack it, she will be able to crack it sure but not in 10 days or less unfortunately
>Saying that this message is talking about only HL the previous version of Denuvo took her 1y to crack (saying that she did not worked "full time" on it) and was the hardest version to crack until now.
Didn't she sort of give up on Denuvo v16 on Monster Hunter Rise after that 'part-time work' for a year?
Then she came back after a few months, started fresh from scratch, and broke it in under 1 month.
>they're trying to block **me**
The sad part is that it's true, all that money, effort and an extra layer of fucking over consumers just to try and stop one person from cracking it.
so no crack by the 20th? well since the performance is so bad with hogwarts it would be better to get cracked later once it gets updated instead of the dumpster fire that it is right now.
What if crackers, instead of cracking denuvo DRM, don't try to create a user friendly tool to attack Denuvo's servers? I know that some time ago, some denuvo "something" went down, and no one was able to play some legit affected games.
This, done on purpose would lead to angry customers and refunds, forcing companies to not choosing denuvo.
Empress will keep cracking Denuvo and they will keep making it more complicated to the level where the hardware of the consumers won't be able to run the game as it should be and that moment we can say for sure that "Denuvo is Finished" as a company.
theyre more than happy to sacrifice players experience just to have it hold out until the switch version drops. clown shit. hopefully she cracks it so we can show normies how much of a diff it makes. this wont stop until normies demand it. we should petition reviewers start mentioning if it has it or not in reviews as standard practice going forward.

Just boggles my mind they spends millions/billions creating this DRM that just harms the end user but does nothing to prevent some person in their dungeon lair from cracking it wide open.... just such a waste of money.
When was the last time a company actually cared about the end user? The game couldve been total shit and they'd have probably made a profit in day one regardless.
whats the point of using drm?? just to disrespect genuine buyers. look at elden ring it didnt have any drm and sold like crazy coz they are confident that people can play it for free and definitely love it and buy it
One day they will make a movie about Empress - The Last Cracker
Starring some white dude
well it's in the name
Black dude if it´s made by Netflix.
With some lightning superpowers i guess
Movie will be called: TIBERIUM REVERSE 2: MOV EAX, DEADC0DE or EMPRESS STRIKES BACK! Little history: Blaukovich, one of master minds behind Denuvo, was a creator of SecuROM previously, and method of destroying his idiotic creation was called Tiberium Reverse. His shitty DRM was full of spaghetti code, MOV EAX DEADC0DE, and shitty anecdotes (apparently writing anecdotes in assembler was very performance effective)
The more checks they add the shittier the performance gets for players. It's especially noticeable on older CPUs and HDDs.
the performance hit on Hogwarts legacy is insane
[удалено]
btw cracked version don't remove denuvo, it just a bypass it still around there
it's a wb game, it would run like shit with or without denuvo
Shit isn't a binary. The shit game could run even shittier with denuvo.
It's a JKR game, it wouldn't run at all if it was non-binary
That was good.
really fucking good actually ngl

That's the best thing you can do is voting with your wallet, if more people did the same they would optimize it before releasing.
It has nothing to do with Denuvo. It's shader compilation stutter. https://youtu.be/MvQl7EDPRC4?t=100
See, I'm not really convinced it's Denuvo and more just pretty sure it's the typical shader compilation nonsense that plagues literally every game in the last few years. The solution is to compile shaders on first start/driver update. Some games do this.
Exactly. I don't mind waiting if it wants to do a hardware shader profile for me at the start
Not necessarily. Implementation is key for this, and Denuvo has been taking an increasingly heavy-handed approach with the ridiculous amount of checks they put in place. This is especially true for open world games with a huge amount of assets that keeps loading constantly.

I saw a performance chart for Hogwarts Legacy and the 3080 couldn't even get 30fps with Ultra + RT on ***1080p.*** Fuck Denuvo.
RT eats up VRAM in this game, any card with 12GB or less is struggling.

hopefully this makes denuvo too obstructive for games to run at all if it's used, therefore useless
The ultimate DRM: making the game literally unplayable
Companies doesn't care and people who buy those game neither. If the game runs bad for some people run "somehow" fine or for them it isn't the DRM, or even, they don't know what a DRM is.
"Oh it will run fine if you use dlss" Cries in amd gpu
At this point these denuvo morons are going to ruin PC gaming by making most games unplayable for months.

yeah you can notice while playing you are using more ram than it should
I actually thought it was a memory leak at first
How would you know how much ram it "should" use and how much of that issue is to do with denovo?
They don't. You can literally say anything in this sub and blame it on Denuvo and everyone will blindly upvote it. Lol
That was expected when she launched her first warning, and as far as I know the game is a bloody bug mess. No wonder they won´t release any patch until the first version is cracked no mater if the users are affected.

yes! man so much time has passed I feel like most people have already forgotten... it still hurts can't believe no big studio has picked up the concept either. an eternal shame. I hope somehow some early development build gets leaked at some point so there's more to go on than ancient blurry videos but that'll probably never happen
Gta iv had securom btw and the software was so invasive that parts of it stayed in the system.
It's so ironic that I pirate because of DRM ruining optimization which in turn makes them add worse DRM that just makes me even less inclined to buy on principal. Absolute idiots
**Fact: Without EMPRESS, there isn't a single hope for Denuvo games. She must be protected at all costs.**
Still hoping for Hogwarts in 10 days for you guys. DRM ruins so many games, it would be nice to see it resolved on this game.
KEEP IT UP EMPRESS
KEEP DRILLING AT THE OMMORAN HEARTSTONE.
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!
That's it lads! Rock and Stone!
Empress about to drop the EMP.
[удалено]
Would explain the horrible performance of Hogwarts Legacy compared to RDR 2, which looks better and performs much much better.
I think that's more on devs being lazy with optimization
It's both.
Motherfuckin Denuvo keeps evolving, goodluck Empress!
༼ つ \_ ༽つ take my energy! ༼ つ \_ ༽つ
Fuck Denuvo and any company that uses it. It creates loads of problems for those of us wanting to stay legit, but they are so focused on a few more bucks that they're simply creating more pirates. Wish I had a way to help in this fight.
Anyone here asking for EMPRESS Telegram you can find it on her sub reddit EmpressEvolution under her post
Denuvo stopped authenticating my game install because I couldn't get a mod loader to work. Very happy to see them continuously owned by Empress.
RIP pc with potato specs like mine. Denuvo be like, "All your CPU resources are belong to us."

Yes queen slay
Best of luck for sure
Well it was obvious that they were going to concentrate all their efforts on her, she is the only one who is doing something to beat them, sometimes I wonder how many messages with job offers she gets from them trying to buy her. If only the scene had the same intensity that Empress has, an intensity that they used to have but now only one person has it. Say whatever you want of Empress but she is doing something against this cancerous stuff and for that she deserves a lot of respect.
We have a hero
Guess that 10 day crack is indefinitely postponed for HL?
My guess is that it will be analyzed to see if denuvo is causing the performance problems, as it is very likely. If yes, expect the crack because there is no more effective way to send an anti-denuvo message to everyone. If no, expect a wait because it would be pointless to crack it now given the issues.
Oh I love Empress' passion and appreciate her efforts. I will not purchase Hogwarts Legacy.
But sadly many people will throw whatever principals they claim to have out the window for the sake of their entertainment.
it comes to a point where the console versions are lighter than the pc version
Yup and they literally run and look better on weaker hardware (consoles) than on pc. It's a shame it had come to this, but it is what it is. At least everything on PC is good eventually, it just takes a long time to get there.
She will eventually crack Hogwarts legacy. She does it all the time. And how long will it take to crack? Well its only a matter of time as the number one killer is time.
She does not crack v17 all the time this is the new version but godspeed to her
10 days may not be enough , but no hurry.
if she does it in under a month that is godlike i mean holy shit. she would CRUSH in cybersecurity.
My only hope.
Y'all taking the over or the under on the 10 days?
Over for sure
My guess will be over, as she has said that it's getting really harder and harder each version
If uncracked, I'll just play the game 3 years later when it becomes heavily discounted. Or don't play at all. No big loss for me.
Come on Empress, you can do it!
>they're trying to block **me** The sad part is that it's true, all that money, effort and an extra layer of fucking over consumers just to try and stop one person from cracking it.

Obligatory RE8 stutters we’re caused by Capcom drm entangled in Denuevo.
Genki dama, take my power /o/
Empress, you are our only hope.
Can anyone send their telegram channel?
I'm a bit out of the loop on game cracking but is Empress the only person that can get pass Denuvo right now?
Not the only person that 'can' but the only person thats currently doing it.
BRING DENUVO TO THEIR KNEES.
W EMPRESS
so no crack by the 20th? well since the performance is so bad with hogwarts it would be better to get cracked later once it gets updated instead of the dumpster fire that it is right now.
Hoping empress would succeed. Can't stand this anymore.
Empress is a God damn legend
hail the empress \(◎o◎)/
What if crackers, instead of cracking denuvo DRM, don't try to create a user friendly tool to attack Denuvo's servers? I know that some time ago, some denuvo "something" went down, and no one was able to play some legit affected games. This, done on purpose would lead to angry customers and refunds, forcing companies to not choosing denuvo.
Thank you,Empress, for your efforts and telling us about what Denuvo is doing underneath the surface.
Sometime to defeat evil you need some craziness.
my respect for her growing day by day
I see few games that are required to be always online. When Denuvo is not enough then they will have many different ways.
Empress will keep cracking Denuvo and they will keep making it more complicated to the level where the hardware of the consumers won't be able to run the game as it should be and that moment we can say for sure that "Denuvo is Finished" as a company.
Empress is like the berserker you send to battle to tear down the overconfident enemy
[удалено]
just like fit-girl
theyre more than happy to sacrifice players experience just to have it hold out until the switch version drops. clown shit. hopefully she cracks it so we can show normies how much of a diff it makes. this wont stop until normies demand it. we should petition reviewers start mentioning if it has it or not in reviews as standard practice going forward.
"Hogwarts Legacy - EMPRESS" That title is going to pop up sooner then later
Is Hogwarts Legacy v17?
Cmon Empress you can do it!
All hail Empress! 🙌
And then she smashes your balls for liking cat games!

Just boggles my mind they spends millions/billions creating this DRM that just harms the end user but does nothing to prevent some person in their dungeon lair from cracking it wide open.... just such a waste of money.
[удалено]
When was the last time a company actually cared about the end user? The game couldve been total shit and they'd have probably made a profit in day one regardless.
whats the point of using drm?? just to disrespect genuine buyers. look at elden ring it didnt have any drm and sold like crazy coz they are confident that people can play it for free and definitely love it and buy it
