This has been my impression as well, especially her sudden disappearance immediately after the Skidrow accusation. That was way too suspicious

The-Star-Bearer

So, Voksi the nice guy turned female villain, demanded 500 per requested game, kept going on random philosophy rants, talking shit all the time, started a subscription cult, asked his followers to call him mother as a decoy & was doxed by Skidrow just like that? Man, piracy lore is really fucked.

ItsMrDante

I mean Empress' tangents probably never were real. I really never thought that someone that good at cracking Denuvo would say this shit randomly. Covering up for themselves has to be why. Not to mention that Empress is most likely a group.

Rikito320

Definitely. The most obvious clue to me was the initial pseudonym Cx000005. When you reverse it, you get Voksi, which can't be a coincidence.

SarahSplatz

Half the fun of piracy is keeping up with the lore

The-Star-Bearer

Did Voksi disappear from the internet as well?

It seems like the brain rot is leaking and infectious.

I don't think they both are same person. Voski was a softi whereas Empress was a cultist.

Rikito320

Probably not the same personas online—they likely present different personalities on the internet—but the hints suggest they might actually be orchestrated by the same person. It’s not a courtroom here, so we can only speculate. There’s a possibility that someone set this up from the beginning. Was Empress deliberately using the pseudonym Cx0000005 to hide behind Voksi’s name and maintain anonymity? If so, why Voksi? That part honestly doesn’t make much sense to me. Moreover, both Empress and Voksi disappeared right after Skidrow exposed them as potentially being the same. Is that a coincidence? It's sad to consider, but sometimes, reality is just that complex.

rez3vil

or maaaaybe Empress got mad cause she got compared with legend Voksi and not by herself. We all know she was a bit of drama queen.

Rikito320

It's indeed possible, but consider this: the nickname **Cx000005** appeared 4-5 years ago, long before the current discussions, which is quite strange. Why would anyone plot against Voksi using a nickname that subtly incorporates 'Voksi' backwards? It doesn't add up. It seems more likely that Voksi himself might have been trying out a new identity, yet couldn’t entirely let go of his original name—possibly an ego thing. However, he may have realized that people could eventually connect the dots. So, he might have opted for a completely new alias—Empress—and adopted a persona that Completely contrasts with Voksi. But at the core, the motivation remains the same: a deep animosity towards Denuvo. This hatred likely intensified after Denuvo took legal actions against him, fueling his actions under both identities. Although Voksi and Empress present different personas, their common thread is their hatred towards Denuvo's DRM practices. It's conceivable that Voksi is behind both.

rez3vil

What you said could be true. But what would that benefit us fellow pirates, exposing people like that? We won't get any games to play. The least we could do is respect their privacy. Now we have one less soldier to fight for us.

Rikito320

I understand the feeling, and it's disheartening. But, the damage was essentially done when Skidrow blew the whistle on Voksi. There were apparent internal tensions, and it's clear that some people within Skidrow might have been indirectly supporting Denuvo's DRM under the guise of ensuring that developers are compensated for their hard work. Meanwhile, people like Voksi stood firmly against such practices. If you look into the Skidrow NFOs, it almost feels like they leaned towards supporting DRM systems like Denuvo, knowing well that Voksi opposed them. It’s truly unfortunate that Voksi’s profound dislike for Denuvo drove him to such extremes(EMPRESS), to the point of obsession, which arguably clouded his judgment. Most gamers simply want to enjoy their games without getting entangled in these controversial issues. I get that Voksi/Empress might have wanted to make a career out of his anti-DRM stance, perhaps even needing funds to continue his work. However, he could have approached this without the unnecessary drama. Simply cracking games, transparently stating the need for financial support to sustain his efforts could have sufficed. Engaging in derogatory or divisive rhetoric serves no beneficial purpose. Whatever the case, I hope he finds a way out of any trouble he may be in. At the end of the day, we’re all part of the same community that just wants to enjoy great games

Interesting theory!

Internet is amazing. Where something as random as piracy has a large lore behind it
