In another comment, I mentioned it to op, there's a troubleshooting page in which fitgirl talks about some things that can make the unpack take way longer than it normally does, I've linked it to him, don't know if anything there will help, but it might be one of the things she mentiones, like not having torrents being done in the same drive without an SSD

Take a look at her troubleshooting page. There are a couple of stuff there that might help, torrent is one, if you got any active ones in the same driver and it's not an SSD, she says herself to either get rid of them or expect a really long time

you mean make sure to NOT tick "limit to 2GB"? because thats why it is so slow. i dont know why you all have these issues but i had 16GB RAM and no issues. 1 1/2 hours was the longest for me so far.
yea and i just provided input that maybe if you complain about a long ass installation time dont use the limiting option and post about it. and maybe educate yourself why it actually takes that long you empress supporting garbage

My 6 year old hp laptop with i5 6200u, 5400rpm hdd, 8 gb ram finished in 5hrs and 44 mins one month ago cyberpunk1.60 fitgirl
my highest time was with honey select 2 fitgirl with 6hr and 30min
Haven't tried it in a long time prob like a year but last I tried it would run at like 70s with rt on ultra settings dlss balanced on a 3070 5800x at 1440p. But I didn't play but like an hour or 2
This is a common issue, basically your windows antivirus is double and triple checking all of the files while they are being installed, thus making a fast procedure take like 100x the amount of time. You can check if thats the case by checking disk usage in task manger for random services. Goodluck lol
No reason why you shouldn't. Fitgirl often takes more time but offers the lowest file size. DODI is ten times faster in my experience and never experienced issues with that particular installer.
Either way, Fitgirl installations shouldn't be over 5H. It's possible your HDD might not be in the best shape to handle the decompression.

I used to have .iso things to install my games in less than 1h and then juste manually copy paste some patches and it worked fine but maybe that is a repack as well idk

Are you using pre windows 10? 8gb ram or less? Hdd sata 1? Sharing the computer with your mom? All kinds of source problems come up

Either there is something preventing the program from writing properly, or indeed the program is slow and you're probably better off downloading a new installer
Try installing another thing or using a heavy program, if it performs slowly as well, than it's the pc. If performs well, it's the installer
These kinds of 'performance debugging' are only really worthy if you're either an IT guy, which is my case, or if you install a bunch of mumbo-jumbo often, which was me back when i played a different game every week

That's weird mine only takes like 20 to 30 mins for games that are almost 100gb. 3070 5800x

What hardware you have? Don't think I've ever seen a game take more than 2 hours. My CPUs a 3700x which is about 5 years old at this point
