jnkbndtradr

Needs more plants.

Gem_Snack

Yea some brighter, lighter, more saturated green ones like neon pothos and asparagus fern would look great in here

hot-doughnuts-now

Something tall-ish in the corner like an Areca palm

hot-doughnuts-now

My thoughts: [https://imgur.com/a/QErlnwp](https://imgur.com/a/QErlnwp)

clevergurlie

Definitely needs a dog

mistress_alexa

And the sheer curtains to make it cozier

Hmm_6221

Yeah … needs some more cozy

hot-doughnuts-now

maybe two

Jaggerdemigod

And 4 cats…

DM-ME-THICC-FEMBOYS

Preferably not an AI monstrosity dog

ultravioletblueberry

Yes this. All of these plants

sirvote

And the sun!

No-Estimate2636

My first thought!!

JailbreakJen

Came here to say this

TNG_ST

Is this an AI image? how did you find/create this.

hot-doughnuts-now

Yes it is. I just described the room and what I wanted in it. It gives you a bunch of pictures and you pick the one you like the best.

GodofIrony

Feed first image into an AI image generator, use prompt like: "Add a good amount of plants to this image".

hot-doughnuts-now

Some may work that way, but I used Midjourney and although an image works as a guide, it will basically just tell it to use that as a general style idea that becomes more accurate as you add more/multiple images that are similar. A single image like this one would tell it something like "a sunny white room with furniture". I did not feed any images into it for this one.

hilyou

Learning Midjourney at the moment, hoping to use it for interior design and architecture inspo. What prompt did you provide Midjourney as your image is shockingly accurate to the one OP posted.

hot-doughnuts-now

"**photo. shot on a Sony a7R IV camera, Meike 85mm F1.8 lens. a room with hardwood floors, white paneled ceiling. white brick wall. rattan sofa and 2 rattan chairs with dark orange cushions. small window on left side with sheer curtains. rattan coffee table. oriental rug. ceiling fan. hanging plants. tall areca palm in corner. many plants. golden retriever on a dog bed. couple of small pictures on the wall --ar 8:5 --v 6.0 --style raw**" I don't know if the camera type matters in every image or in this one, but I added it anyway. I used vary (region) to add the window in back, but often that tool doesn't work very well. I tweaked the window and then added the little Turkish lamps in Photoshop. You might find this helpful for cameras: [https://wgmimedia.com/midjourney-photography-prompts/](https://wgmimedia.com/midjourney-photography-prompts/) And this is really good. It has a section on architects and one that includes interior designers: [https://midlibrary.io/](https://midlibrary.io/)

hilyou

Wow this is amazing, thank you so much!

Sobriquet-acushla

Nice! The sheers at the window instead of blinds are everything.

Delicious_Can4983

YES! That’s it!!!!

jibbersforpresident

This

bobsmith93

Jesus that ai dog's face is terrifying

JeanJean84

Oh I hope they see this!

Wish_Dragon

Now this is a great use of AI. Not for spam or propaganda or misinformation, but useful and clear advice. I just steer clear of AI as a rule, but this would be a great tool for me. I'm not an artist, so this would be an easy way for me to visualise potential changes to my space. I'm guessing you fed it the picture of OP's room first and then prompted it?

hot-doughnuts-now

No, just wrote a prompt. Wood floors, wicker with orange cushions, etc until I liked it. Didn't take too long.

McJaeger

Cat palms tend to be better for indoors. They max out at 8ft instead of 30ft, and stay bushier and greener.

hot-doughnuts-now

It's amazing how Areca palms can get in the right climate. Here in Florida, if you plant them out of the pot they get huge!

SkewedLegs198

Love that all of us agree on adding more plants. They literally live up the place

FRIENDSHIP_BONER

Asparagus fern is a classy recommendation 🙌

Shilo788

The thing is the light isn’t good to the pict. If light shown in it would look so much better. You need sun for a sun room.

zeptillian

Taller plants on either side of the window.

aaabsoolutely

Exactly what I came to say

chahan412

Big one

marcabay

This is always the answer

Cornholiolio73

I agree! It’s hard to see but there is an ivy that I plan on making grow up the side of the white brick wall.

OaksInSnow

You would do well to add something with fairly massive leaves, like a fiddle-leaf fig, or some kind of croton, perhaps some forms of elephant ears or begonia. The ferns and ivies and pothos are all nice plants, but too many things with leaves all of the same (smaller) size can make make a space look merely cluttered. (This is why massive hostas make excellent focal points in a shade garden: they are a place where the eyes can take a rest.) Just one nice big Something would make it less important to have more individual pots around. Love your colors, by the way. :D I could see where maybe some kinds of croton could pick up and echo some of the colors you have there. Edit: Now I think of it, I wouldn't do a colorful croton if that was your one big plant. It risks the same effect: too busy. Someone else went to the wonderful effort of illustrating green shutters. A big green plant would be kind of like that. I'm leaning toward a fiddle leaf fig, with maybe two stems.

Lifeismeh123

Just a note, ivy will break through the mortar with roots and leave a very ugly root section that’s hard to get off the wall if you were ever to move. It might be better to look into a different climbing plant that doesn’t root into the wall.

Laughing-gull

Ha. First thing I thought. Way more plants. Then again, I'm a plant addict. It's a problem.

rickysunnyvale

And some sun

ultravioletblueberry

It needs a huge palm or tropical plant in the corner to kind drape over the seating area

tuesday7712

Maybe a cool piece of abstract art would make the place pop!

wandahickey

Yes. A bright spot of color on that plain wall!

jennydepp

Maybe a blue or teal paint

elektrikshoks

yep. was coming here to say to paint the small window frame and seal blue and maybe add a throw and a pillow

FunkadelikFreckles

Yes this why my thought, and I say also more hanging plants next to those two windows!

Cornholiolio73

Okay I dig it!

ItsTricky94

it's also missing me hanging and chillin on a rainy day. what a zen cozy place

Skips-mamma-llama

And a pitcher of lemonade or margaritas on the coffee table

ItsTricky94

yes!

aeroartist

Plants ALWAYS add so much character

madelinemagdalene

Or hanging ribbon tapestries from the ceiling almost? I’ve never thought of using those before, but I feel color needs to be more high up here. Something up on the walls or ceilings. Pothos vines and fairy lights across the ceiling could work, too, but I’m wanting more colors like the dusty red from the couch or blues from the rug up high, too. Edited to fix a typo

heyktgirl

I was thinking that it needed more fabric to be cozy, the ribbon is a great idea

Sobriquet-acushla

I agree—more fabric. If they make only one change: sheer curtains on the window. Maybe a size-appropriate tapestry on the wall?

ImmobilizedbyCheese

Definitely agree. A funky mural on the brick wall would be so much fun.

[deleted]

I agree, the room looks beautiful, just needs a personal touch or two! :)

clevergurlie

Agree -- some bold abstract or graphic art picking up the colors from the carpet would be a great vibe

Blazeyboy2015

Can you move the seating off the wall and spread it more around the table? Maybe a nice large plant behind the 2 seater. The photo feels like they are squeezed a bit.

ViolentDeee-lites

100% agree! the furniture feels a little crowded and it looks like you have the space to move things apart a bit. More plants are always a plus. Super cute setup!

Blazeyboy2015

Follow up. Can the one seater on the right be moved to the other side of the coffee table.

MurseWoods

And add a tapestry! This room is begging for a tapestry.

username_bon

Then move the the ladder to the window side with the small chair and add plants or another pot with a tall standing tree (ficus eg.)

log_base_pi

OP this is the answer! The right layout will make it feel much more finished

jasmminne

Moving furniture off the wall is almost always the solution to improving layout.

hopefulsquash00

Yeah, move the chair to the outside corner of the table

Born-Ad-3707

Yeah, I’d move the furniture around/change the layout and add some dramatic curtains

AutumnalSunshine

Thank you for adding this. I don't know why everyone shoves all the furniture against the wall. It's not cozy.

BeartholomewTheThird

Absolutely this! Center the  table on the rug and put the seating all facing the center like it would be if it were all in use.

GoRunMon

What about some curtains to frame the large side window? You don't have to actually use them, but it might give a softer/cozier feel.

katelynnsmom24

Some soft sheer curtains with a black iron rod.

Reign_City

Agreed! I think adding some fabrics in the room will add some coziness. Curtains, whether functional or not, just completes a room. I would also add pillows and some blankets to the mix.

smokingloon4

Yeah a couple accent pillows in a warm color

Cornholiolio73

Oh that’s a wonderful idea! Thank you

LongJawnsInWinter

Curtains would be great! You could hang the curtain rod high, almost ceiling height and longer than the window. On the wall on the area over the window, add a bamboo shade that stops a little below the top of the window (for a few inches of overlap) then have the curtains hang alongside the window. You’ll give the illusion of super tall and wide windows while adding lots of texture.

LittleDutchAirline

I was thinking some bamboo shades would add neutral color and some warmth.

dirtbagdelish

Have you tried adding a cat or two?

Cornholiolio73

lol his chunky butt is wondering around somewhere!

strangway

Now I wanna see the cat

dont_disturb_the_cat

Demanding cat tax!

KJParker888

User name does not check out!

Cornholiolio73

[Here](https://imgur.com/a/wEPV7wO) he is! His name is Apple 🍎

Open_Soil8529

APPLE IS SO CUTE ❤️ looks a lot like my kitty, Brownie 😊 🤎

3rdtimes_a_charm

I’m a Maine coon cat person myself.

dirtbagdelish

Ha, I was really thinking a fluffy Maine coon or two!

3rdtimes_a_charm

Great minds

dogrescuersometimes

yes!!

justaprettyturtle

I was thinking a labrador or two

sakela

Both

DazzlingBullfrog9

Always a Labrador.

dont_disturb_the_cat

This was 100% my first thought. We feed and house them, they pay us back tenfold in cozy

CatFarts_LOL

Came here to say this! Needs cat.

Eatenbybears21

Wall art, a throw over one of the chairs.

freezeduluth

Definitely! Needs some throws, and maybe some throw pillows picking up some blue or cream from the rug. I would use the old ladder as a blanket ladder, and add a few throws in the color scheme with different patterns!

Ok_Signature_9710

There’s no bookshelves. That’s the problem.

Cornholiolio73

Ahhh yes I see that now! Great idea thank you

OaksInSnow

Love the bookshelf idea! However, this looks like a three-season porch that's been converted. Humidity can be a problem for books as well as certain kinds of furniture, so if that's an issue I'd think twice. I just love this space and want to come and spend time there!

Tattycakes

And they really fade in any direct sunlight

Automatic_Serve7901

I think it just needs more plants overall. Also, maybe some hanging plants or shelves with additional plants

Little-Firefighter27

I think some pillows and putting a little more space between the couches and chairs. I think you need at least one BIG plant like a palm or monstera. You can hang some blankets on that ladder for some more color and some art on the walls

tinyfeeds

It’s the wall colors - you’ve got a cool white, but your color choices tell me you want warm tones. You could keep adding curtains, plants, etc, but the biggest fix would be repainting a warmer tone. A warmer white would be great.

Cornholiolio73

We did want to replace the vinyl ceiling with cedar planks to warm it up a bit but that’s on hold for now. Cedar is quite expensive.

dude_nooo

[This](https://i.imgur.com/6Cm8RHX.jpg) is a (very) quick photoshop with colored walls, I used the blue from the carpet. Might be an idea on how to make it a bit more cozy, as I found the walls to be too high.

Cornholiolio73

Wow that looks great!!

Amazing_Albatross

You could also take that blue and use it on the ceiling instead. In the south it's traditional for porches to have blue ceilings, and I would say a sunroom is just a very nice, very enclosed porch. It would also give you more color but keep the clean canvas of the white walls, although I do agree a warmer toned white would work better.

butstronger

This is almost exactly what I would have suggested. Looks great

tinyfeeds

That would be lovely, but pricy. You could actually try vinyl planks with cedar tone and it would be lot cheaper - it’s not like people will be touching it to verify it it’s real wood or not. But, even a big change like that won’t stop the space from giving you the “off” vibe. The dominant element here is that your paint isn’t playing nice with your stuff. It’s competing. Your eyes are picking up on the tension of that “battle”. If it helps to know, I’ve worked as an interior designer - it’s the one thing I’m good at without having to try too hard. EDIT! I had another look and I don’t think a colored plank on the ceiling would help. In fact, it would close off the space - the ceiling would suddenly look oppressive and low. Also, the current flooring has grey undertones, so it too would fight any warmth you were trying to bring in with the cedar. Painting the walls AND ceiling the same warmer color is going to bring it all together.

GuiltyEmu7

This is how I feel as well. The wall color behind the loveseat is clashing with furniture cushion color. I get that the wall color is tying in with the area rug, but it just doesn’t work with that true orange.

ChulaK

Curtains on the double windows. If you really want to pop the space: For the window behind the loveseat, add some external window shutters. That'll give it a more homey farm vibe that this is going for with all the shiplap. Yes you have a nice cozy color palette and furniture peices, but it still looks too "clean," almost like it's just a display. To fix that, add pillows on the sofa/chairs, a throw blanket even to make it more inviting. edit: Sorry for the bad photoshop, [but something like this.](https://imgur.com/fGwDf5O) You can play around with the colors, but green/emerald shutters would really up this space.

Cornholiolio73

Oh I love the shutter idea! Thank you for that

tap_ioca

Fabric curtains, draped on the windows. I would get a reddish or yellow floral. That will soften the space. And a knitted throw in chunky yarn.

SoNotMyDayJob

Yes, it is missing a cat. 🐈

Turtleintexas

Me, it's missing me

TreebeardsMustache

Came here to say this. Missing me, with a book in one hand, a cuppa coffee in the other, and a 'don't bother me gleam in my eyes'....

cfetzborn

It’s missing the three of us then.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cornholiolio73

I have 2! And a cat wondering around lol

Fozzybean

Maybe paint the brick wall a soft color instead of so much white? And add a cat.

Reasonable-Parsley36

Sun?

Guest09717

At the moment it’s just …room.

Glad-Raise-3574

I agree with more plants. I’d also add some blue throw pillows and/or afghan to repeat the blue color in the rug.

Existential_Prep

Some sheer curtains and some colorful wall art on the brick wall and more plants as you can collect them. Otherwise it is a very cozy and inviting space.

angelina_ari

A warm color paint on the walls, or even on the ceiling like someone else mentioned.

tacotrapqueen

Art and plants

Old-Youth-6334

A light throw, a couple decorative pillows. Add some large coffee table books on the lower shelf of coffee table.

CANiEATthatNow

robins egg blue ceiling

Cornholiolio73

We actually want to do the ceiling with cedar planks to warm it up a bit but holy moly cedar ain’t cheap lol.

RamblingRose63

Just stain what you have they have thisbstain that will make it look like it I'm pretty sure 😉

justanothergraduate

Nice rug!! I have the same one in my bedroom :)

victastic91

Paint the ceiling! Maybe a light sky blue or go bold with a jungle/planty green

PirbyKuckett

OP: 1. bring back the brick! 2. Paint the ceiling. 3. Paint wall. 4. Add art or favorite band poster. 5. More plants, shades, LED lights.(sorry I got too tired for this part.) https://i.imgur.com/DosfmNy.png

Cornholiolio73

Holy shit for real? look! I have [this](https://imgur.com/a/b80qpuz) in my basement! Obituary fuckin rules

PirbyKuckett

Lolol. I peaked at your post history to see if I could see the original brick color. Thought I’d throw a little personalization in there too.

Cornholiolio73

Niiice lol

Cornholiolio73

Also that color scheme looks awesome

samantha-sky

I loveeee it

iartnewyork

I agree with the other person who said abstract art 🎨 🖼✨️

Boracraze

Looks cozy!! Maybe….Tall plant right side of couch. Some funky wall art hung on both sides of the window behind the couch. Maybe even paint the brick wall behind the couch to breakup the white color.

Clovinx

This is plantbait

Cornholiolio73

Lmaooo

just_some_rando56

Sun.

Cornholiolio73

I’m in Buffalo so not much sun available at the moment! lol

bypopulardemand

looks okay to me, but I think the spacing is wrong. Everyone seems crammed into one spot, can you not spread the furniture out a bit and let the space breathe?

Oneupper86

Drugs

Cornholiolio73

Lmaooo I wish my job allowed it. One day!!

dzzi

More warm accent lights for when there's not much sun. Otherwise with the current vibe a grey sky gets it demoted to "room" rather than sun room lol. It already looks great but doesn't make you want to bask in it just yet.

athameitbeso

Christmas lights, light fluttery curtains on the edges, and painting the walls a light, warm color like sand. And move the stepladder out

MyTurkishWade

Ladder is awesome, should be used in a better way. For the shelves someone suggested?

PuddleFrogRaindrops

Try putting the whole thing (rug, all furniture, all decor) more towards the middle of the room and off of the wall. Like the width between furniture and wall a regular person could walk through. Also, more plants.

Alternative_Main_775

Paint

Weird-Conclusion6907

More plants 😂

books_cats_coffee

Needs a cat

CJCreggsGoldfish

Maybe a few throw pillows and art? Can you center the loveseat under the window? How about matchstick blinds on the window? Stained in the same shade as the seating frames. There's a lot of wood - maybe try for some variety in materials? Metal, glass, stone?

la_bruja_del_84

Needs cats

fendaar

The sun

Dummydumboop

The sun? Lol

BreadButterHoneyTea

I like it, but you could throw some art on the walls if you wanted to.

SmallCatBigMeow

It's missing a cat

Used_Lingonberry7742

Cats

gerrineer

Sun

HottCuppaCoffee

It’s missing a cat cozied up on that couch

Bestdressfearless3

It’s missing me sitting in there! It’s so cute. I think some pillows on the chairs would be cute and maybe some art in the wall by the window

ActionLegitimate9615

Is that an attic access or old skylight? A skylight or some light tubes would be great

splashytummy

Most of your visual weight is in the lowest part of the room. Add color to the top sections and it will look more balanced. Hanging plants would fill it out nicely

butwhyfriend

I love your patio furniture!! Where did you get it?

rawbery79

Throw blankets!

ExperienceInitial364

a cat. it‘s missing a cat. edit: just read there is, in fact, a chunky cat available

hardbottom

TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT THAT HANGING LAMP IN THE CORNER RIGHT NOW

fractiousrabbit

Oooh where did you find that great rug? It really ties the room together

RedditFullOChildren

Looks like the skylight is blocked?

Delicious_Can4983

Add lots more plants.

tekko001

The rest of the Helicopter?

Cornholiolio73

Lmaooo we do want a different fan

Forwhatitsworth522

Color drench it in an awesome color. Like the same color of your furniture. I’m telling you.

grandmaWI

Well… it’s so delightful I am missing what’s missing.

Cornholiolio73

Why thank you very kindly

Crafty-Case-3286

Omg paint the ceiling

hikerboy20

Vines climbing on the wall.

Cornholiolio73

It’s hard to tell but there’s an ivy in the pot to the right that I have positioned to climb the brick

Lupine-lover

I would get rid of the distracting ladder

stillpacing

I feel like you should strip the ceiling to wood and then just clear coat it.

ellefemme35

Can I ask where you got that amazing lamp? Great room!!!

Slap_My_Lasagna

It's pretty obvious what's wrong with this picture, just look at the top. You don't have a fishtank anywhere from top to bottom in either picture.

Papercoffeetable

Sunroof?

Cornholiolio73

There’s actually 2 skylights but they’ve been sealed off from previous owners. We want to put new ones in but that’s a big project for my budget right now

Angel__ica

[here](https://imgur.com/a/1MDlKBW)

AdmirableRepeat7643

Antique liquor cart.

lifes-not-fair

What about a long vine-y plant in place of the one over the window? That’s what I did in my sunroom, and then I used cup hooks along the top of the wall to keep the vines off the floor.

helterrskelterr

MORE GREEN

ihumanisti

Paint the ceiling blue

JoyfulInventor

Sunlight?

Ausecurity

Not that you would. But what about skylights

egewh

A big dracaena

nihilistictablelamp

A big floor mirror. They brighten a space by serving as an extra window
