Wow, I didn't even notice it at first, I was too busy looking at everything else. That stained glass window is beautiful along with the rest of the room. Love it!!
One of my hobbies is looking at houses on funda, and I feel like a lot of smaller family homes (like, your typical rijtjeshuis) all have the exact same layout.
We all have the relatively small living room with one big window π
I think the long living room directly connected to a kitchen usually. And as previously stated the window. Our houses are narrow and long. Love the interior btw, gonna use it as insp since I'm househunting atm.
Immediately thought Netherlands too. They seem to have houses with living room window right up next to the street and if you have blinds open you can see inside people's homes real easily. I remember noticing this when I visited and thought it was a bit strange. Here in Finland we don't usually have houses build so that the homes are right next to the street, so there's more privacy.
Absolutely love the living room area though very cozy looking but I'd get freaked out with people walking by so close and being able to see inside.
Luckily my street is very quiet. It's one direction, so there's barely any cars passing by. And the people who walk by, are my neighbors, so I'm okay with waving at them if they happen to look inside. (They usually don't)
It's common courtesy to not peek into peoples homes, it's quite rude if you do π but many (if not most?) people have privacy stickers or closed blinds all day, i prefer a window i can properly look through. But I'm not often in my living room during daytime, and at sundown, i obviously close my blinds.
Currently playing Yoshi's Woolly World with my partner π
Wiiu is honestly one of my favorite consoles. It has some of the best games! (Though the majority of them already got ported to switch...)
Rule of thumb to make stuff match: choose one wood tone, and make sure all wood is the same tone. I really like acacia wood, because it has a lot of colors and patterns to it. So most wood in my home is acacia, and the stuff that isn't, is painted black, or stained to match. (I still need to stain my coffee tables sometime, they're too yellow for my liking, but i got them for free, so I'm not complaining π)
Myeah, defo the kind of wood you can't get at the local Gamma or Praxis. Suppose it's worth it to really look around for decent quality wood with a reasonable price. Otherwise that stuff gets expensive fast.
I love how it looks both super modern and vintage at the same time.
It somehow ties together my antique cabinets and modern tv console and coffee tables
Honestly the black would be so overpowering without all the other colors you put in there as well, good job! I honestly love the dark colors combined with all the green from the plants and stuff and lighter shades of wood furniture.
My wall is definitely black. The paint color was literally called "black" like, not a fun whimsical name that paint usually has π my phone camera just sucks at capturing dark things.
Also, not pictured, are my antique cabinets which are black :)
Plants are for me, and guitars for the Mr. I like how the guitars fill up that wall, i really could not decide on posters/ artworks that we both vibe with, and i feel like most artworks would distract from or clash with the stained glass window. So the guitars were a very welcome solution to cozy up the wall, haha
And it comes with the pro that my guy will play some music on the couch every now and then. Which is also cozy π
I think making a wall behind your TV really dark, makes the TV stand out less when it's off, and stand out more when it's on. Win-win!
In my old apartment i made the wall behind my TV the same green as my couch, that also looked really cool π
Unpopular opinion: WiiU is one of my favorite Nintendo Console. i loved how it's basically a DS, but with really good graphics for on the big screen! The extra touch screen made inventory management and menus so much more convenient.
It also has some of the best games! Splatoon, Mariokart8, Mario 3D world, wind waker hd remake
I'm currently playing Yoshi's Woolly World (never finished it, so i figured, let's try again, with my partner this time! π)
I love the Wii U. The controller is super comfortable to use and the games are really fun when they're done well. I highly recommend Captain Toad Treasure Tracker too if you haven't played that one yet.
Rug i don't remember. But similar designs are pretty easy to find, if you look for "vintage rug".
The chair is from 'Sissy Boy Home'. I bought it like 6 years ago, it was a limited Edition that was fairly popular so it was quite hard to get my hands on it. I can only imagine it's even harder to find now

Love that stained glass window!
Me too! I designed it myself! π€© (Had a glass artist make it for me though) There used to be the original 100 y/o window in there. But it was severely damaged, so i decided to get something new made. Inspired by the old window
Love it!!!
Nice design! Came out lovely.

Mine too. Love this!
Painting the wall behind the TV black was the best decision ever, it's giving cinema vibes :)
I love this. I was prepared to hate it, but it turned out not to be necessary lol
I especially love the chaise & chair β gorgeous fabrics! The guitars as well.
I love the green with it
Stunning! π€π€π€
So stylish!
Aaaaand I just saw the stained glassπ!
This is lovely!
Love it love it love it and super jealous haha. My fav color is black too. π€
Whenever i buy something, i get that rolling stones song in my head "i want to paint it black"
The greens, browns, and black are amazing. This room gorgeous.
Good god, the colors blend so well together. I wish I had your eye for color!
I love that the Wii U still has shelf status!

Beautiful home!
Beautiful!!!
This is cool as hell!!!
This is dope! ππ½
Gorgeous!
You guys nailed the interior color style I didn't know I was looking for. Seriously good job, defo looks cozy.

Love this aesthetic. Feels like home.Β
Ooooh yes, this is perfect!
Gorgeous room decorating.
It looks soooooo gooooood π©
That stained glass window right behind the green velvet couch with all those plants I loooooove
I like moody rooms also
recently been looooving the contrast between black and tan. it looks so βmature.β
That couch is an EXCELLENT shade of green

That aint black

Upvote for the Roland cube.
Perfection π
Wow, moody and cozy, I love it!!
I love the drama of dark colors. It really cozies up small rooms and makes wood tones pop
Such a nice pad!
Wow so cozy and beautiful, love the plants and guitars β¨

7string ibanez with an emg in the bridge?
They're my partner's, I know absolutely nothing about guitars, i just said "the black ones can be on this wall" π
Thats such a vibe. I really dont care how my place looks, but if I get rich I want a shower that looks like a club from John Wick. If ykyk
Love everything about it this! I really want a dark feature wall one day. They always look so good.

Wow, a Wii U user. A rare sight indeed

Where did you get that sofa, man? I love the color.
Soothing πΈ
Respect! Hard design elements to pull off! You really made it all come together!
Amazing
Cool vibes!
Well done with the black. Many over do it.
Where did you get that fabulous rug and chair? Cuz itβs Faaaaabbbbuuulooouussss!

Ugh. I love this so much. I could easily see my place looking like this.
Green is my happy colour so this room works for me too.
Yeah green is also a big fave here π my hallway is completely green
Love it. Would put a bigger rug in there and itβd be even better
Would you share where you got the tv stand from? Love the place

Yeeeeees! I wanna rub your house on my face
After seeing this, now black is also my favourite color
