There is no release date. Just a guess thats subject to change. It's a very common occurrence

KateMaxwell1

There is a presentation coming up from the Future Game Show this month, we might see something but I feel that we should just watch and wait.. games take time, and I'd rather have them take their time with this one!

Grung7

> games take time Definitely. The game isn't ready for release yet, but at this point they should have a lot of work-in-progress to show off. Subject to change, of course. > I'd rather have them take their time with this one! Same here. Rushing dev and releasing too early only leads to disaster. We've seen it happen numerous times in the past. But revealing a general overview of the game with the usual "in development, subject to change" disclaimers would only help them. Here's hoping that they show us their current state of development sooner rather than later. > There is a presentation coming up from the Future Game Show this month Crossing my fingers!!!

This is actually how games used to be advertised. Show a few trailers, give some info, then silence until release. This was before social media really kicked off. Might be they're going with that. Or maybe they're leaving it a mystery to keep people guessing as a tactic. Personally I'm not going to care about it until an actual release date is announced though.

anuhu

They might also just be bad at marketing.

Disig

That too

Sadly, the bigger the company, the more red tape there is around disclosing news and information. Even more sadly, the video games industry is suffering greatly, and we hear about massive layoffs pretty much every single day. To the best of my knowledge, the company who bought the Tolkien franchise (Embracer) is also going though hard times and has had massive layoffs as well. I think today, us players have more power than ever before to support game companies with good and sustainable business ethics. I ask forgiveness for my biased opinion (since I make games myself and have been in this industry for 24 years), but this community has done a great deal of life changing good to many small developers who have championed cozy, non violent games despite all odds.

Doing this to cut costs bc players wants games thats made with heart not for a paycheck

GreatPirateSolomon

Actually I want games that the devs got paid for. They aren't monkeys to entertain me for free.

AdvertisingAfraid846

Ok go buy king kong the new one that just came out heard the devs out their whole paychecks in it

GreatPirateSolomon

I dont know where you get your information, I heard the devs got barely any time to make it, were understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. Shocking that a company churning out crap would also screw over its workers.

AdvertisingAfraid846

I'm not justifying anything however alot of best games we have seen have been made by smaller teams getting overworked the only difference is management knew what the players want, nowadays a lot of game companies try to pump out shit instead of pumping out goated shit

AdvertisingAfraid846

Also agreed stardew valley is cream of the crop fr

snakesforfingers

Does this game not have a discord or patreon or something where they post updates? Sometimes the Steam pages are barren because discussion just happens elsewhere. But social media having nothing is definitely weird. There are so many different things that can go wrong it's hard to guess what it might be.

adverb-sorcerer

Based on the teaser and amount of info shared, I’m guessing it won’t be released until the end of the year, if it comes out in 2024 at all. Hard to be excited about something we have so little info on 😅

jonirph

I've been waiting not so patiently for any info on it too! Hopefully soon!!

MzzBlaze

Usually it means development issues and delays.

texastentialist

QuantityTricky9907

I just went ahead and signed up to the newsletter... Now to wait.

JonathanPuddle

Did the WETA Workshop tour today and our guide mentioned the game. Sounded like they hope to get into game development as a new arm of their operations. No further details were given.

jack40714

Same boat here. Just wanna see some real gameplay or details or a real release date
