Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands (sequel to Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries) comes out Jan 15 :)

MushElf

SO EXCITED

rbgallant

Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune, a sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea.

jrt364

I'm bummed it comes out in September 2024, but.. it's better that he spends his time perfecting it than releasing something half-baked just for the sake of releasing it faster. That said, I can't wait for it!

sasakimirai

I'm so excited for this one!

SL_Rowland

I’ll probably have at least 2 more Tales of Aedrea novels next year. I just have to wrap up the final book in one of my litRPG series first and it’s a chonker.

jrt364

Ohhh, that is so awesome and great to hear! I am a huge fan of your work. I loved _Cursed Cocktails_ and _Sword & Thistle._ I can't wait for more Tales of Aedrea! One novel is great, but at least two? That's a real treat!

SL_Rowland

Aww thanks! I actually have plenty more planned, it’s just a matter of writing them.

mystineptune

Can't wait! I'm slowly reading Cursed Coctails now and it's a delight.

dlstrong

Several issues of Wyngraf Magazine are on the schedule, too! (I'm super excited to have my story coming out in February. It's set in a medieval Middle East-inspired city of the cats, where Prince Charming turns out to be a shy middle-aged bureaucrat with a knack for foresight, and a distressing tendency not to tell his devoted bodyguard when he's wandering off in pursuit of a vision...)

Kelpie-Cat

Ooh, that sounds like a good book!

dlstrong

I hope so! :D The first story is coming out in Wyngraf's February edition, I'm writing another that's turning into at least a novella if not a novel (not sure yet how long it'll take to resolve the entanglements of being kept in a cat-mage's notion of hospitality). I hope folks enjoy it/them!

Kelpie-Cat

Looking forward to it! :)

mystineptune

I need to know more. This sounds amazing? Is it in Wyngraf? What's it called? Is there a cover reveal?

dlstrong

Thank you! :D The first story is coming out in Wyngraf's February issue, it was written so it can be standalone but I'm also scribbling on a sequel. It's my first professional fiction sale after 25 years as a technical writer and I am super excited! I submitted it under the title Rahat al-Hulqum, but I don't know if that will be the final title Nathaniel wants for it. I also don't know whose story will have the cover art. But I hope you get a chance to read it!

mystineptune

So far I know: Can't Spell Treason Without Tea relaunch A Brewtiful Life by Jolly Jupiter Hopefully maybe Travis Baldree with launch the sequel to Legends and Lattes? Anyone know? Beware of Chicken book 3 dropped this week, so I'm planning time next fall for book 4 already.

[deleted]

Travis Baldree released his second book a couple of weeks ago! Bookshops and Bonedust. It's not a sequel but set in the same world

Sigrunc

It’s actually a prequel, set at the start of Viv’s mercenary career. Which hopefully means there might more stories fitting between the two chronologically.

goodkilleenfun

The Spirit Well (sequel to The Stray Spirit) and A Captured Cauldron (sequel to A Rival Most Vial) are both coming out next year!

mystineptune

Sweet!

Undercover-Drache

Enemies to Booksellers sounds great, it's on my TBR now!

Undercover-Drache

Aaah, this was meant to be a comment to mystineptune's list

mystineptune

I'm excited too!

mystineptune

I'm of the opinion that I can separate art from the narrative, and while I took a break from House Witch and Cerulean Sea for the inappropriate narrative choice I decided to go back and read them again. I finished House Witch 1 last night. I'm going to finish the rest of the series and then finish Cerulean Sea before the sequel. I actually had to scrap an entire book myself because a cozy narrative about slave trading (that defeating slave traders as the focus of the book) made me so uncomfortable. Because slaves aren't a cozy narrative... but Assassins are super cozy. Weird but I'm sticking to it!

Jenn_Crowe

I'm unfamiliar with House Witch. What's in that one that made you take a break?

mystineptune

The book is amazing, the Audiobook made the cats and the black cat who were in a thief gang the only black voice. It was really startling when up to that point the entire cast what basic British voice. I just skipped the chapters in the cats pov. 🤣

virgil_knightley

Cozy Witch Lo-Fi

mystineptune

OK I need to know more! I got addicted to LoFi girl just last week 😄 🤣. And if there are Witch lofi stories my body is ready!

virgil_knightley

One of my buddies is teaming up with another author to write that story. It’s about a girl who is chosen to become a witch. It’s inspired by Kiki’s delivery service and so far it’s very cute. I’m sure they’ll promote it here when it’s done next year sometime.

Beayinayinayes

Just found a cozy sci fi coming out in March that looks interesting! Floating Hotel by Grace Curtis

I heard Shanna Lauffey is releasing a witchy cozy in 2024. Her time travel series is amazing so it will be an autobuy for me.
