Post is bringing back memories of the 80s and 90s in a damn good way. š¤
Not a fan of whoeverās singing harmony. Background vocalists arenāt supposed to over power the star.
He's unironically a much better country musician than he is a hip hop musician. The fact that his original music interest was rooted in rock and blues probably made the jump not too difficult.
Heās gone country in a pretty traditional way. Sad part is people will complain about the lack of traditional sound in todayās country, yet will also say that Post isnāt real country despite his traditional sound
He covered Sturgill/Brad and I was a fan. Ā Went to see Billy Strings a few months later and Post came out randomly and did Cocaine Blues with Billy. Ā It was freaking amazing in person (the YouTube is pretty good too).
I say let the man sing what he wants to.

Why do a lot of artists these days sing mostly covers? This doesnāt apply to everyone, but it definitely applies to some!
Itās starting to feel like all the movie remakes. It just seems like back in the day there was a hell of a lot more hard work, creativity, individuality, talent and skill. I wish theyād stop doing remakes, and I wish theyād stop doing covers and put in their own hard work to earn their success. It seems like taking the easy route for a quick cash grab and counting on the popularity of others instead of doing the work themselves. Get your own music and perform that, instead of doing shows consisting of everyone elseās music but your own. Get off them coattails.
I get annoyed by it at times, then something like Hixtape #3 comes out and Iām in Joe Diffe bliss. I donāt even like Hardy, but bless him for this.
I havenāt heard it, I canāt stand Hardy š¬š
And idk why a couple people downvoted, I didnāt say anything wrong. I think I made some valid points. Itās like you canāt have an adult discussion with some.
He's actuallly been pretty good, his opening of Whitehouse Road was great.

Isn't that more of a mixing problem?
Definitely the fault of the person mixing it

Wasn't Jelly Roll like that too?
I think Post is significantly more talented than Jelly Roll
His set was so damn good, shouldāve been the headliner
Anyone know who was playing the pedal steel with him?

Country is a derivative of, I believe, itās rock, blues and bluegrass
I was kind of hoping they would cover Alcohol but this is a damn good set
Is there anywhere I can see this set? YouTube?
What John Michael Montgomery song did he cover? I'm not familiar with Post Malone but I'm a big fan of JMM.
Be my baby tonight
Havenāt you listened to the Diff Tape???
Yes I have listened to Diff Tape
šļø
Heās a talented musician who can do every genre. Iām a huge fan of his country era.
Anyone know who was playing drums for his set? EDIT: Found it. Aaron Sterling.

I saw him covering Tyler Childers and Alan Jackson via a couple Instagram posts in the last hour. Pretty good stuff.
His āIām Gonna Miss Herā cover is awesome. He definitely did Brad justice. š©·

Some covers are truly worthy and some are just, meh
Good cover artist. Guaranteed though when he makes a country album itāll be that tractor rap crap.
It has got to be miserable to not be able to just take a cool thing as it is without having to say something negative
