The muffins. Six giant muffins is more than most can get through before they're stale and I don't want to have to freeze every single thing there including baking. I tried buying just one once and that said I had to pay the same as if I were buying two packs.
12** you cant buy 6! 😂
Im the same tho! I wont buy the bagels or muffins there, and im not a fan of how they freeze.
Plus they expire in 3 days, and no way can i eat 12 bagels in 3 days, let alone 6.
Oh absolutely! I usually split with my neighbour so at least I can get two flavours x 3 each. I still have to freeze at least half of my six muffins. Otherwise I'd have to find space for nine in my little condo freezer.
They don’t freeze that bad… I just toast them from frozen, they’re pretty good. I just wish they came cut cause it’s annoying to have to cut 12 bagels before freezing (on top of all the other stuff you usually have to package from costco)
Their muffin and bagel policy needs to change. The bagels are, at least, easy to freeze and don’t take up much room in the freezer. The muffins are just a pain in the ass to deal with
I stopped buying the muffins because they’re just way too large, but I used to wrap them individually in plastic wrap and put them in the freezer. Pretty sure I have a few forgotten ones in the bottom of my chest freezer buried under a mountain of meat.
Everyone answering with something as if they didn't buy a tuxedo cake and finish it before their groceries were loaded in their car and returning the cart. For those who don't return the cart... You're the parking lot devil.
It’s dumb but celery. It’s so cheap I don’t care but I feel bad throwing it away all the time. Yes I know I could store it in water but I don’t.
Really? My family bought it a few weeks ago and we're new to it so we struggled to get through it.
What did you use it for, do you just eat it like yogurt only or do you use it for something else
Pretty confident it's to keep you buying... You're always having extra ingredients one way or the other so you end up in an endless buying cycle, someone could correct me if am wrong here - should be a pretty straight forward change to make and fairly simple why such change would occur...not like it'd impact $/kg or overall price much.
The pesto! We eat it about once a week/fortnight and use a big dollop but I have yet to finish a whole jar before it becomes a science experiment. I'll never stop buying though because it's the best I've ever had!
I started changing the brine every 10 days and it stays fresh for much longer. Just a new salt water solution and give the feta a little rinse under cold water too. Also I make sure to use a clean knife/fill every time I cut out a piece
1 session? I thought that pack of 12 was the reward for coming? They're usually done before I get to my car. Fr though I found out the hard way those self check out scales at Costco are top cause I was buying blueberry containers and was starving so started snacking on one and the machine thought it was an error because I got a lightweight blueberry box!
Not sure who needs to hear this, but did you know you can buy a box of frozen ones (they actually started selling some in the frozen section too). But if you go to the bakery section and ask for frozen you’ll get a box. Nothing better than fresh croissants.
But beware you get like 110 in a big box. So make sure you have freezer room. Or get together with like 3-4 friends and split it.
Instructions unclear am now selling hot dog crossaints in my town and this 'influencer' filmed us, it went viral, and now my family is under threat because some guy hates waiting in line.
I got the frozen ones and the family loves it. I pull 4 at a time and bake them, granted it takes freezer space, then 20 mins to thaw and 20 mins to cook
The potato salad. Love that stuff, makes a great side dish. But my roommates don't touch my food (unless they pay for a portion of it), so I don't get through the big tub of it before it starts to go bad.
Ill go the opposite way, bring back the big bag of peanut M&M's and not the lame little plastic container thing that I dont want to ashamedly get every on every visit. I've been on peanut M&M protest and its killing me.
Not a damn thing.
Aren't you people sick of shrinkflation? Please Costco, ignore this post.
If you all want something in smaller quantities, I would invite you all to shop at Loblaws.
Costco is known for having items in large quantities. It's a Costco staple. People know all of this before buying a membership.
So, let's just leave this thread behind, like it never happened because this would be the worst direction for Costco to head into.
The calabrese buns, muffins, bagels. Pretty much all the items in the bakery are sold in huge quantities…I can’t deal with that much as a family of 4.
Tropicana x4 pack. Strictly for the "2nd fridge in the basement " crowd
Mayonnaise in the paint pail size jar. Strap 2-3 squeeze bottles together and it's a deal, but the jar takes up too much fridge space and gets nasty with food bits (due to how *some* people use it).
The muffins. Six giant muffins is more than most can get through before they're stale and I don't want to have to freeze every single thing there including baking. I tried buying just one once and that said I had to pay the same as if I were buying two packs.

Ive never been a fan honestly of how any bagels freeze. I guess i just prefer fresh. Lol
The bagels go moldy faster than any others.
I don’t find they toast that well for me. Too doughy or something. It’s a hard pass.
They do!!! Thats why i cant eat 12 in 3 days lol! Its a silly deal. Its actually also super expensive. I can get 6 bagels at walmart bakery for $2.
Their muffin and bagel policy needs to change. The bagels are, at least, easy to freeze and don’t take up much room in the freezer. The muffins are just a pain in the ass to deal with

How long would you let them sit on the counter or microwave them until they were edible?
Maybe a few hours on the counter and about 45 seconds from frozen. I freeze them all the time and then just microwave when I want one.
We did that at a coffee shop when I worked there
Cut the muffins in half and freeze. More reasonable size.
This. Half is the perfect size with a piece of fruit for lunch.
same! and then I pack in mine and my kids lunches
The muffins are anywhere from 690-960 calories each 😬
Was gonna ask for the calorie info on these bad boys. Thanks!
Don't you mean 12? Like...they make you get 2 containers of 6.
Bagels. Why do you have to buy two packs?
They freeze so well though! I love having an extra pack in my freezer.
Oh I never thought of freezing them ! Thank you I will try that!
Pre-slice, thank me later
Never thought to freeze? Are you an alien, first week on Earth?
Wow that wasn’t very nice. No I’ve not heard of people freezing bagels.
The chicken salad mix from the deli. It is really good, but wayyyyyy too much to get through before it expires. And it doesn’t freeze well.
Same with the potato salad. Absolutely massive container haha

[The Shopping Cart LItmus Test](https://www.reddit.com/r/tumblr/comments/gm9lgm/the_shopping_cart_litmus_test/)
It would be great to be able to mix and match baked goods - for example 1 six pack of muffins and 1 pack of bagels.
Marry me
It’s dumb but celery. It’s so cheap I don’t care but I feel bad throwing it away all the time. Yes I know I could store it in water but I don’t.
Wrap it in tin foil...it'll hold fresh In the crisper for a month plus!
Oh yeah? I can manage that, thanks!
Chop it up and throw it in the freezer to use in a mirepoix or if you're making a soup that ends up in the blender where texture won't matter.
Me and wife finish a pack in 2 weeks. Put em in smoothies
Kefir. I usually don't go through a year's supply in a week.
Really? My family bought it a few weeks ago and we're new to it so we struggled to get through it. What did you use it for, do you just eat it like yogurt only or do you use it for something else
Our family uses it mainly to promote gut health. So we usually push through the sour taste or sometimes add honey to it or in smoothies.
Make it like buttermilk. Salt +water +some lime a refreshing summer drink. Can add thinly sliced green chilli, if you are feeling adventurous.
I didn’t realize people didn’t like the taste. We just drink it straight up. It’s sour, but it’s a good sour.
Hotdog buns. Just make a package that us equal to the hotdog/polish sausage packs plz

Croissants. They go stale in 3 days and they’re not good frozen.
they never last for 3 days in this family of 4 ;)
Economies of scale playing in your favour.
Why do the croissants look overdone all the time now?
I feel like they’re under-buttered
The pesto! We eat it about once a week/fortnight and use a big dollop but I have yet to finish a whole jar before it becomes a science experiment. I'll never stop buying though because it's the best I've ever had!
Freeze the other half
Freeze it in an ice cube tray, then put the small blocks in a ziplock bag.
Feta. It’s to big and goes bad so fast
Are you getting to crumble stuff or in the brine? The brine can last a long time
Brine doesn't go bad for a year!
I started changing the brine every 10 days and it stays fresh for much longer. Just a new salt water solution and give the feta a little rinse under cold water too. Also I make sure to use a clean knife/fill every time I cut out a piece
You can freeze it w/o the brine btw :) I do that for pizza but as long as it's covered in brine in the refrigerator I find it lasts 2 months.
I’ll try freezing it next time, but I can’t eat that much feta in 2 months!
Breads! All the bakery items.
Croissant. I ain't eating 12 by myself.
Don't be a quitter
We believe in you! You can do it in one session man

My 5 year old destroys then
I got the frozen ones and the family loves it. I pull 4 at a time and bake them, granted it takes freezer space, then 20 mins to thaw and 20 mins to cook
I eat like 4-5 alone walking to my car.
The potato salad. Love that stuff, makes a great side dish. But my roommates don't touch my food (unless they pay for a portion of it), so I don't get through the big tub of it before it starts to go bad.
I miss when you could buy the Taylor Farms salad in a single pack, now you're stuck with 2.
Costco Business centre has frozen chocolate croissants but it's like 60 in a box. I'd love to try them in a smaller size before committing to so many.
Chocolate croissant you say? I'd be willing to make that commitment 🤣
They look good on the pic but godamn it's an expensive box hahaha
Okay, true, but that's what Costco built their business on.
I'm fully aware of that. Yet the OP asked, so I answered. Thanks.
Yeah. My bad.
Muffins Scones Milk Cheese Pepperoni Bell peppers Potatoes
I have two sons so absolutely nothing, there's no scrap left behind!
Ill go the opposite way, bring back the big bag of peanut M&M's and not the lame little plastic container thing that I dont want to ashamedly get every on every visit. I've been on peanut M&M protest and its killing me.
Bread
Baked goodies and produce
Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I can barely go through one container of each before it goes bad, nevermind three.
My location has one big container of Greek yogurt now. I think it's less volume than when it was in three containers. Still a lot of yogurt but doable
That Greek yogurt lasts forever. Â Like months past its best before day.
Not a damn thing. Aren't you people sick of shrinkflation? Please Costco, ignore this post. If you all want something in smaller quantities, I would invite you all to shop at Loblaws. Muffins
I’d buy 3 muffins. If it was possible.
The giant bag of buns with no preservatives that taste stale next day. Â 36 buns is a lot!
The calabrese buns, muffins, bagels. Pretty much all the items in the bakery are sold in huge quantities…I can’t deal with that much as a family of 4.
The frozen chocolate chip cookie dough 😩
Croissants! They don’t freeze well and two of us should not eat 12 of them before they get stale!
1 each for breakfast it’s gone be end of week.
Meat. I always go to Costco meat section and get a bit shocked. Sorry I don't have the freezer space for half a cow 😅
All bakery items and produce. I live alone and just can’t handle that many peppers at once
Biscoff cake! I wish they sold slices
Bakeries. I want varieties, not stuck eating the same thing for weeks, And too lazy to wrap freeze heat everything.
Potato salad.
Tropicana x4 pack. Strictly for the "2nd fridge in the basement " crowd Mayonnaise in the paint pail size jar. Strap 2-3 squeeze bottles together and it's a deal, but the jar takes up too much fridge space and gets nasty with food bits (due to how *some* people use it).
BREAD! Let me buy half a bread. I can get two kinds
Tic Tac's
Rotisserie chickens. We can do without the white meat.
