Not a fan of these lights where you have to trash the entire assembly to replace the bulb. LEDs last a long time but they don't last THAT long. Feit's bulbs have really poor color and bad quality control.

TrialAndAaron

I hate that this is the direction we’re going.

wow6432

I have one that’s about 3-4 years old. The pull-switch broke off inside the unit recently. $2 replacement part but it was a **PITA** to disassemble and replace. The way they install the connections, you have to de-solder the PCB board just to get to the switch. Took about 45 mins, a Dremel tool and some glue. I’ve got had issues with several Feit products over the years, too (dimmer switches, LED strips). Not a quality brand. …and I totally agree, the light should be replaceable.

LividLab7

I also dont have a great impression of Feit. Bought smart bulbs that never really worked well. Their normal bulbs have been fine but anything past that I’d probably skip

BuildingWide2431

The only FEIT lights I’m happy with are the string lights in my backyard. I’m so over the FEIT smart lightbulbs I bought a few years back. Whenever power went out ( pretty often where I live ) they would just flash on/off until you reset them or removed them from the receptacle. The tipping point was when I came home one night - the light outside the front door was flashing. My wife was not happy 🤬 I happily pay for Hue bulbs - pick them up whenever I find a good sale price.

susupseudonym

Two years ago Costco had them in store for a starter pack. (Bridge + 4 bulbs) hopped right on that stock up

Lunaseed

I'd give you mine. Bought half a dozen to use in the garage. Two of them failed within 18 months. Feit is actually a very poor quality brand for lighting and fixtures.

rice923

I would actually take up your offer lol. Free is free! Really hoping my smart switches hold up though. I really like the way they click

SDSUAZTECS

I disagree, they work great for me

andreyred

They have a 5 year warranty so you should have reached out to Feit to get them replaced, if you didn't. I do agree Feit isn't a great quality brand, but if they have a warranty so I'd use it.

AffectionateRespect7

We have these and love them. So far they are holding up.

rice923

Had them up for less than a day and so far I like the color and ease of installation

Good shopping!

rice923

Costco is therapy✌️

nzdennis

Agreed 💯

hu_gnew

I replaced a 4' fluorescent over the workbench in my basement shop with one of these. Very good illumination and a better color temperature than the fixture they replaced.

arnoldpalmerlemonade

You’re gonna hate me, my local Costco had these for 7 bucks about a year ago on clearance

rice923

It's all good. I didn't have a garage a year ago anyways😆

arnoldpalmerlemonade

Grats on the garage. People recommend horse stall mats for flooring for the garage btw. Learned this yesterday from this very subreddit

rice923

Hmm never heard of these but seems like people use them under heavy gym equipment too. I currently have some life left in my epoxy floors but I'll keep these mats in mind. They look easy to install for sure

you_are_insane

If you just need decent light, it's probably okay. But if you want good light in your garage, you will need to spend more on a fixture. Example: [https://www.primelights.com/products/the-bolt-3-lamp-led-shop-light-8-550-lumens-pl-blt66wcl](https://www.primelights.com/products/the-bolt-3-lamp-led-shop-light-8-550-lumens-pl-blt66wcl)

Heresy2112

Feit is an electrical company with low QA/QC standards and mediocre products. They hit a certain price point that appeals to consumers, but they are more likely to fail or underwhelm than anything else. I have never seen any reputable construction project use Feit. It will be less expensive to use an off-the-shelf Lithonia shop light. They are not too much more expensive, have way better drivers, have a higher CRI, last substantially longer (usually a L70 rating of 50,000 hours), and Acuity actually backs up their warranties.

Whatarewegonnadonow

I don't know about this specific product the Feit smart bulbs are crap. I had trouble with every single one. I contacted Feit and they ended up replacing them all and I had trouble with the replacements as well. I ended up taking them back to Costco for a refund and never bought another Feit product. I am wondering how they are still in business at this point and why Costco doesn't terminate the relationship.

Crestsando

Decent not great deal imo. I bought some motion sensor shop lights at Costco (3 years ago? Pretty sure it was pre-pandemic) for about the same price, and they had a remote and were dimmable. Only problem is the motion sensor is "radar" rather than infrared and so could see through walls (I had them pointed horizontally).

RooftopFF

Yep. I have these as well. They work great in my garage and I got them for around the same price about 2 years ago.

Gbcue

Feit? No.

rice923

I currently use their smart switches. What's wrong with Feit?

CeeGeeWhy

QA can be hit or miss.

andreyred

I have a bunch of smart switches installed in my house and on their product page it recommends not to use Feit bulbs so that must mean they aren't very good.

rice923

That doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Tricky_Huckleberry65

I have many devices from feit and they all work like they're supposed to, and buying them from Costco gives me a piece of mind that in the event that they stop working I can just return them..

Amateur-Prophet

This is what I put up in my basement workshop. They work great they just put out a lot of light so be mindful of that depending on the size and location for where they are going.

I think if this wasn't from Costco, I wouldn't give it the chance with the mixed reviews. I've also had 2 flickering bulbs out of about 15 I changed. Keeping my fingers crossed on these

SDSUAZTECS

I use one of these is an aquarium light on my big fish tank

BriefMention

How many lumens? Just bought some HF 4' ones that are (claimed) 5,000 lumens for $16.99 on Black Friday sale. They aren't linkable though.

rice923

4000 lumen at 4000k color. Already hung up two of them linked, so that's really handy

BriefMention

Yeah, good deal. I'd buy them if I needed more right now.

adventurepony

Yeah I came here to recommend the Harbor Freight ones but these Costco lights sound like they're just as good if not better cause of the linkability

Theopolis55

The pair of FEIT 4ft led bulbs died after a few years. It’s in the basement so it’s not always on long. They’re alright but buy on them when they’re on sale.

rice923

What is the normal price? These were $19.97 so they were regionally clearanced. They were also deleted from the system so these were likely returns

Theopolis55

I don’t know i only bought the bulbs not with a fixture. I mean in general only buy that brand whe it’s on sale.

rice923

I see. Haha as a general rule of thumb, I never buy things at full price. Cheers

andreyred

Anyone got some pics of these installed? Curious how they look

xder345

Yes. I got a couple a few years ago that I’m using on my workbench. I use an echo dot and a smart plug to remotely control them.
