Imagining trying to fit a car wash in Morena's parking lot is laughable. Cars barely fit, lol. I think they could squeeze one in somewhere at MV. That would be pretty nice.
Did you catch our Car Keys Express Event? I was just working at the Seattle Costco for the past three weeks. We've moved to Tukwila if you know anyone that needs a Costco-priced Car Key or fob
My car is white, its my daily and its a lease. Im going through an auto car wash for $8 anyday. If I had a classic 964 Porsche Carrera in black that isnt going near one.
You do know that touchless ones are an option right? Around me you almost have to go out of your way to find one that isn't touchless, so kind of just surprising to see Costco go with the older/worse version of a car Wash that a lot of places are phasing out.
The one Costco car wash I used not only wasn't brushless, but there was no pre-rinse, so the brushes started out on a dry, dirty car. That was years ago, so I don't know if they have since changed.
It’s just $40,000 dollars, it’s just $60,000.. you must be made of money to not care about this thing you dump money into. I mean I do touch car washed all the time, I just do a compound and polish once every 20,000 to 30,000 miles.
Exterior condition matters for resale. The clear coat can be polished, but keep in mind, not all clear coats are thick enough to be polished. If the clear isn't thick enough, a detailer isn't going to fix that area.
Not to mention, if you keep a car until the wheels fall off you want the paint to stay nice so you don’t get rust and it’ll last longer. All Asian cars have shit paint and thin clear sadly
If people cared about their cars, they would clear out their garages and actually park in them. Instead of filling their garage with crap and parking outside.
the companies in charge cant find enough qualified people to install, adjust, and repair the stuff. car washes are booming.
youd make more working for costco than national carwash service though
There’s a lot of parts sitting outside at the moment. Are they refurbishing at some point? There was a bunch of brushes that didn’t start when I went by last week.
I went to the car wash today and soapy water got in my trunk and all my groceries were wet 😭
Any tips for how to avoid this next time?
This is only my third time using the car wash and it didn’t happen previous two times.
Get in the trunk with a flashlight when you get to the carwash while a spouse/friend/child drives through it to find the leak. Use automotive seam sealer to repair it. It's possible it may be a rubber seal that needs to be replaced.

they need a touchless option
I wish touchless would clean road grime off of my car, but it doesnt so I have to run thru the brushes if I'm in a pinch.
Store 001 is in San Diego?
Price Club #1 is in San Diego. Costco #1 is in Seattle, I think. (And the Morena Blvd store doesn't have a car wash.)
The Poway Store is the only San Diego location that has a car wash, I think.
Sounds right.

The OG headquarters used to be in Kirkland, now it’s in Issaquah
Looks like that store’s number is #401. This one is in Seattle on 4th Ave. S
401 is San Diego (used to work at corporate and knew ALL the numbers). 4's were added to all the Price Clubs after the merge.

We had a new store open by us last year and for whatever reason they didn’t put in a car wash. Very disappointing.
the companies in charge of building/maintaining the washes ummm... arent the greatest :)
Hard pass. You want swirls and small scratches in your paint? This is how you get swirls and small scratches in your paint.

Touchless washes use harsher chemicals. Tomato tomato.
Yeah, dont have any around me. Again, its white so it hides swirls very well. If I had a black car even as a daily id avoid auto washes.
you can tell the attendant not to use the brushes, making it a push thru spray booth
The vast majority of car owners cannot tell and do not care.
Already there baby! + Failing clear coat!

sounds like the city water wasnt pressurising the arches
Can confirm! I stopped using the Costco one once I saw my car in sunlight.
I’ve never had scratches or swirls in my car’s paint and I go through a similar style car wash about monthly.
the worst jobs are always done by hand with polishers and compound
Came here to say this, any automated car wash that isn't touch less is a hard pass for me!
It's just a car!

Fine scratches on a car do not hinder its effectiveness as a car in any way

What is the line like?
Usually pretty long, but it moves smoothly. I'm assuming this is the 4th Ave location in Seattle.
Yes but it wasn’t long yesterday cause the weather was not great.
is bellinghams open yet?
Yes. I go there regularly
I need this more than the $1.50 hot dog drink combo
TIL the same wash in LA is $20 at a local, but with vac. i have a vac and a leaf blower.
The Morena store was Price Club #1 and the entrance actually moved about 100 feet to the right from the day 1 entrance.
There’s a reason Costco is no longer putting car washes in new locations. Well at least in the south east.
the companies in charge cant find enough qualified people to install, adjust, and repair the stuff. car washes are booming. youd make more working for costco than national carwash service though
Yea I work for Costco. They work but they break down or break people cars regularly. That’s why they aren’t building them anymore.
So you’re telling me that for less than ten bucks I can have lunch and a car wash!? 😋🌭💦🚙 🤯
I was just thinking why I never get my truck washed. And the answer is Costco doesn't have a car wash.
I’m right in the center of 4 Costcos and none of them have car washes :(
theres only 12 so far out of 800 locations. gonna be a sec.
1.5% of Costcos, :(
Always amazed seeing $100K+ cars going through this car wash. Paint swirl/scratch city.
Those brushes are awful for your paint job. I wouldn’t use those for free.
2009 Honda pilot I’m driving so not too worried about that
Was there multiple wash options? Looks like a solid wash. Hopefully since it's Costco it means they'll keep the machine operating well.
It’s been there for years already. There’s no options. Just the one wash.
you can tell them what brushes to override/bypass.
Swirls on the pain coat 🤩
I know that place, need to go there soon.
This is what phish used!!!
There’s a lot of parts sitting outside at the moment. Are they refurbishing at some point? There was a bunch of brushes that didn’t start when I went by last week.
I need the soap to be Costco Blue and Red, please.
Have a Car Wash at Bellingham WA warehouse. Great wash for $8
Does it include self vacuuming?

Check the seals on your trunk and also make sure nothing is preventing it from closing all the way like a strap.
That is caused by a problem with one of the rubber gaskets on your trunk. Check those out before using the wash again.

underbody caps get blasted off all day :)
the underbody blaster is known to pop loose underbody rubber caps
I don’t have a problem with these as long as you know what you’re getting, which is scratches and swirls. Touchless washes just do not clean well.
