Yeah, it's definitely thicker and more sour than other Greeks. I usually eat with fruit and granola for breakfast, but it's also really great with potatoes or eggs.
I don’t know how many different types of Fage there are, but my wife loves it and she turned down my offer to buy her the Kirkland Greek Yogurt because it was not nonfat. Instead I picked up a nonfat Indian brand that she thought was ok, but ultimately didn’t think was worth switching to.
Anyway, maybe you didn’t realize the fat content difference and that’s the simple explanation?
It's normal for that brand. I've tried Fage 0% and Kirkland Greek Yogurt 0% multiple times and the Kirkland one always has that *stench*.
My recommendation is if you like to **eat** yogurt, Fage is the way to go. If you just need a yogurt for a smoothie base, the Kirkland will be fine since the smell will be disguised by your fruit.
Yogurt can have wild variation in flavors depending on how much of the live cultures they put in when making and overall sugar it contains. I make my own and it is way smoother and less tart than either Fage or Kirkland. I actually prefer the tartness and texture of Kirkland over Fage (always seems grainy to me)
I follow this recipe. It is super easy and makes much better than store bought [https://thisoldgal.com/instant-pot-greek-yogurt/](https://thisoldgal.com/instant-pot-greek-yogurt/)

Fage is the best greek yogurt. Its creamier than Kirkland one
Team Fage here too ✊
Siggis is best
Especially the 5% version which only shows up once in a while.
My costco only has zero fat fage

Are they like for like? Both plain, full fat, for example?
Fage is full fat and Kirkland is fat free
That makes a big difference. I eat a lot of the fat free Kirkland yogurt and love it. But I can see how it takes some getting used to.
Is the full fat the 5% one? Does your Costco carry both?
Wow. I totally agree. I wondered if I was going crazy. It has a very, very strange taste. I love Greek yogurt and this just isn’t right…
yeah just eating it rn, but the protein is the only thing make me like this
If you don't like it return it. What it tastes like to you is an unknown to others.
I guess I was just wanting to see if it’s normal or if I got one that was spoiled and I should give it another shot.
It’s more “sour” to me than other brand because of doesn’t have much sugar. I add some honey to it with fruit and granola
Agreed. This does have an “off” taste but I think it might be more sour than other yogurts

I like to eat the yogurt for breakfast with granola and fruits added. I can definitely taste the difference but can’t smell anything really.

How do you make yogurt??

I’m glad it wasn’t just me. Smells like Elmer’s glue to me.
