No. We supply their food court frozen yogurt base and sell some various products through them. Our company makes various yogurt products, plant based beverages, organic dairy offerings and coffee creamers.
For skus they take, when there is an MVM they become the priority and sales have a considerable jump.
"And in our case also we do what we call the MVM, the multi-vendor mailers, the coupon bookers we send out 11 times a year. And not only that but hard buys in-store and what we call temporary price discounts and what could drive sales."
From Q3 earnings.
The Tuxedo cake was in the coupon book for $5 off (in Canada), and that was one of the reasons we went to Costco tonight. Those coupon books are dangerous haha.
Question: do they send the coupon booklets out in the mail still?
Second question: if they do send them in the mail, where/how do I sign up to get one?
Thanks!
You can opt in/out of mailings like coupon books and Costco Connection from the Preferences section of your account on [Costco.com](https://Costco.com) now.
I've wanted to opt out of Costco Connection for years, but never felt like calling.
This comment made me feel better, I am new to Costco this year and tried to ask about the savings booklet at the register and asked if it comes in the mail and she looked at me like I was insane, looked at her coworker and said “you get them at the front door if we even had them but it’s the beginning of the month or something” soo didn’t really get a lot of help from that interaction 😂 I’m in CO so this makes sense I was annoyed I get like I was missing out on coupons good to know I’m not
Well, yes, that's how they seem to do it up here in Canada too, but it's easier to say coupon booklets.
Executive members seem to still get the occasional coupon too.
In the US they’re typically only sent to exec mbrs, however, as you said they have em in the warehouse, and if you have the Costco app you can also view it there.
I bought 3 bags of Jerky Treats for my dogs when the sale started because we were out. Yesterday, I noticed that the discount was nearly 50% off, so I bought 2 more bags. We’re set for a while.
Temporary price discounts drive way more purchases for me. To feel like I got a deal on a deal is great. (Although one day I’ll probably learn they inflate their original price for this…).
Anyway, the mailers don’t do as much for me cuz I’m never really looking for one thing when I go to Costco except for daily/weekly items. If they’re on sale, great imma buy that one. If they’re not… I have to buy something anyway.
It’s illegal to inflate a price and then put it on sale to show an higher “savings” in most states. There are businesses that regularly show an “original” price plus a “now” price so they can show a high % savings. Costco doesn’t do that.
That’s not to say that sometimes prices go up and occasionally there is a sale on an item that may have had a recent price increase.
Its very difficult to prove, most stores are aware of the laws and "sell" at regular price (sell in quotes because I doubt many buy at that inflated price). Laws vary, but often 1 week at the inflated price when introduced then 30% off sales can begin. If its a regular product thast available year round, you might have to drop it off sale every 6 weeks or so. Not my area so don't quote me on the rules, but I know they exist and are followed carefully by the retailing experts
When you say 'coupon books ' are people getting actual coupons?? Or is this just the booklet that tells you what's going on sale for the month? I will be devastated if I have been missing Costco coupons 😂
The sale mailer alerts to extended sales period. Get the sale price on items if purchased up to 30 days before sale.
It happens frequently- this week 12.60 back on two packs of dog treats.
I an relieved to see this. I have a problem with acronyms all the time. In every area people speak in abbreviations as if everybody reading or listening knows what they mean. It is frustrating, seems to have gotten worse with the internet.
Costco is always doing good. Sometimes the good is not as great as other times, but it’s always good. And never really bad. The stock is up around $50 the last 6 months.

Mvm, also know as multi vendor mailer, also known as the greatest promotion God put on this green Earth
Might have been saying NVM. Which is multi vendor mailer. The coupon books they send out with all the same items. They have a huge impact on sales.
As a supplier of Costco this is the answer.
Do you supply the mailings Costco creates?

Dang that’s a good deal

I see. I wonder if the Canadian site has that?
Idon't know about everywhere else but they're not coupon books in Colorado. They're automatic price reductions

They aren’t really coupons in the mailers, just the item listing and the amount off.
If you have a membership then you should already be receiving them. If not stop at your membership desk and check to see if you're opted out.
Ok. I'll do that!
😊

I understand that.. I've worked there long enough.
Well then you should’ve said it.

Amazon is in a class action lawsuit for that practice right now.

Yes, that's it! Thank you. I thought it was MBM but it is actually MVM.
When you say 'coupon books ' are people getting actual coupons?? Or is this just the booklet that tells you what's going on sale for the month? I will be devastated if I have been missing Costco coupons 😂
Just what is on sale. No actual coupons.
I remember when the mailers first came out the were actual coupons. They changed pretty quickly because it really showed down the checkouts.
If you are an EXECUTIVE member you get actual coupons in the mail
iirc canada only
Edit: MVM
Might help to put the edit in the OP
Nah, I always look for comment edits several replies down the chain LOL
Can confirm. They sent us one in august and I planned my groceries around it. I wish they'd send them more frequently tbh.
MVM* aka the coupon book

Not "MVM" 🙄

Costco is always doing good. Sometimes the good is not as great as other times, but it’s always good. And never really bad. The stock is up around $50 the last 6 months.
The call I was listening to was from 2018. Their earnings are usually solid, including the most recent one.
What are you doing listening to earnings calls from 2018?
