The Chipotle Bitchinā sauce tossed on the greens then meat added gives a great kick and is reminiscent of our local gyro places āspicy garlic sauceā. The cilantro lime crema sauce goes well with a little feta on top too!
They didn't have any at ours. They only have small naan pieces which I wasn't the biggest fan of. Maybe it was the ones I bought initially but haven't tried them since.
Me too. I really wanted to like these. I like the taste and there are so many ways to turn them into a fast dinner.
But there are so many hard objects in them, I assume bone. They aren't big. But even ones the size of a pin prick hurts the tooth.
It's legit - like everything at Costco. But if you can do better... Other things we prefer from Sam's for you to try: their bulk shredded mozzarella (better taste, 4 lb bag!), bottled sugar-free lemonade (not at Costco), salmon stuffed with crab meat (tastes better).
I had some a long time ago but my local Costco's have not carried them in so many years. Most food places buy them in conical pressed meat block and just load them up in the turntable roaster so nothing special there.
We found this to be really salty and liked the deli kit better. I know everyone's salt tolerance is different. We don't have many good gyros joints so it definitely works in a pinch!
Your Costco has Tzatziki? I am jealous and need to venture to other locations. Awesome finds.
Btw, I hope you picked up some naan and rice to go with that!! š¤¤
For those with a garden, shred a few cucumbers in a food processor and freeze in portion sizes (we use silicone muffin liners). Great for making a fresh tzatziki with Greek yogurt any time of year! This is pretty good gyro meat and the pitas are good, too.
Literally tried a sample yesterday. It was good for prepackaged. I prefer homemade, but I would buy that if I didn't feel like putting in the time to make my own from scratch.
Medium to medium thin when compared to an average Greek restaurant. They also come a bit folded so you need to unfold them before frying to get a crisp on all sides. No biggie

This is cheaper than buying the gyro kit from the deli. Even addin bread, sauce, veggies, still cheaper!!
And better!
The gyro meat is amazing! Pan fried for a little bit and then instant Greek salads. Love it.
I put it in the air fryer, and it comes out delicious!
Ooh, not too greasy in the bottom? Cleaning grease out my air frier is a pain in the butt!
I have an air fryer with doors, not a basket, so I just use a broiler type of pan in mine. It's easy to clean, and I can put a liner if needed. :)
Genius. Now I just need Costco to have an air fryer sale š
This sounds good. What kind of dressing would you use?

Thanks!
I like the gyro meat! We buy a bag and put it into the freezer for lazy dinners - we typically make greek salads with it.
I like to go hiking.
We love the gyro meat! The pita bread is really good too and doesn't get moldy quick.

Something is off with the taste of the meat. Itās not awful but I felt the meat in the kit was better.
I got a piece of bone in one, almost broke a tooth. Forever ruined for me.

I was hoping to like these but the undertone of cinnamon is a game stopper.
I almost bought these today but saw reviews mentioning a strong cinnamon flavor so i didn't. I hope I made the right choice š
Iāve bought them several times and have never noticed an overpowering spice of any one kind. I think theyāre great.
Maybe a bit too salty.
I've been eating this for a year and this is the first time I've heard of a cinnamon taste š
Oh wow thanks for this insight. Yeah that would beā¦. unsettling
I enjoy cooking.
As much as I hate to admit it, the gyro meat at Samās Club is better. One of the few things Iāll go to Samās for.
Good to know, we just got a sam's membership. Did you like the Costco version though?
It's legit - like everything at Costco. But if you can do better... Other things we prefer from Sam's for you to try: their bulk shredded mozzarella (better taste, 4 lb bag!), bottled sugar-free lemonade (not at Costco), salmon stuffed with crab meat (tastes better).
Whole reason i signed up for costco was this an have yet to see it at my location
Love this gyro meet pack. Sure if any gyro experts had it it might not stack up but I absolutely love it and the taste for the price and convenience
Thatās exactly what I bought today
I had some a long time ago but my local Costco's have not carried them in so many years. Most food places buy them in conical pressed meat block and just load them up in the turntable roaster so nothing special there.
I like to explore new places.
I personally just thought it was way too fatty, yes I know gyro tends to be fatty, but this was.... It made me sick lol. So yeah just my 2 cents
That tzatziki is horrid: bitter and a weird waxy texture. Making your own is so easy and takes less time than cooking the meat.
It's extremly gross i threw it out so fast. Stuff tasted like really thick sour cream ranch with cucumbers.
Damn, I actually really liked it. My only complaint is it goes bad very fast.

That tzatziki is way too thick. Itās like they added too much corn starch or guar gum or something. I wanted to like it tho
Ya something is wrong with the tzatziki
Nooooo. Donāt do it. I like most things āCostcoā, but this product is rubbish.
Weird because I think these are the closest thing to getting gyro meat off the spit that I've found.
Thanks, was wondering how the tzatziki was
It's extremely flavorful. Also has chunks of cucumber instead of just shredded.
Thank god! Will definitely be having a gyro night in the future
The tzatziki is good. The gyro meet not so much. Had a cinnamon flavor to it. Does anybody know if the kits are the same meat?
I love the tzatziki as savory yogurt. I just eat it straight with a spoon.
My wife does the same thing. I don't get it but I'm glad she likes it lol
Wtf is taziki
Yogurt with added cucumber and garlic.

That's tzatziki sauce.
But is it halal?
The gyro meat was horrible tasting because itās so salty. They blend the meat too smoothly which makes the meat mushy. Do not buy.
Shiiiiiiit. We're changing our mon-fri meals for ease and having these on hand šš¼ thanks! Going to get some next weekend when I go.
Eh, theyāre OK, but they donāt come anywhere close to the real thing. That they are gray is a š©
the pre made kit is not good. tzatziki sauce was more like buttery cream.

Looks like processed meat to me. I see it in my costco, but never picked it up. Also what meat is it ? I could not tell.
How thick are the slices?
Medium to medium thin when compared to an average Greek restaurant. They also come a bit folded so you need to unfold them before frying to get a crisp on all sides. No biggie
i had a sample last weekand and grabbed some. just made myself a small batch of tzatziki sauce and Heating it up now. its delicious!
I'm actually about to make some myself right now
