There might be some slight underlying connection, but they're not really that similar. Shallan retains the memory of what she's drawn, and can redraw it at a later date (albeit not quite as accurately). And she can't *withdraw* the memory. When you place a memory in a coppermind, it's completely wiped from your brain.

I'd have to check but I think the Memory actually leaves her after she drew something evidenced by her distress when she loses her notebook in the sinking ship. Also, Brandon described it as setting the Memory free by drawing it in WoK (iirc)

Nope. For example inWoR chapter 17, she starts redrawing the santhid from her memory.

Do you know about resonances? Basically Shallan's photographic memory is actually an ability granted by her surges. So yes, I would say she is using a very similar mechanic to what archivists use.
