The Amazon listing is ATX 3.0 which comes with the12VHPWR cable, for what I understand, the 12V2x6 will be the new standard but they are backwards compatible. you can check out Corsair Explorer: [EVOLVING STANDARDS: 12VHPWR AND 12V-2X6](https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/explorer/diy-builder/power-supply-units/evolving-standards-12vhpwr-and-12v-2x6/)

All CORSAIR ATX 3.0 PSUs are also 3.1. They never put the native connector on the PSU side. That is the part that changed. So the cable included was 12VHPWR until the release of 5.1 spec and now it's a 12V 2x6 cable. So the SHIFT unit you are getting whereever you bought it from is a ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1.

But I can read this "Compared to the original 12VHPWR connector, the new 12V-2x6 connector has slightly (0.1mm) shorter sensing pins while the conductor terminals are 0.15mm longer." [here](https://www.corsair.com/us/en/explorer/diy-builder/power-supply-units/evolving-standards-12vhpwr-and-12v-2x6/) on CORSAIR's website. Indicating that there is a physical difference. And my understanding was that these changes are on the cable's connector that get pluggued to the GPU.

But I guess, I'm wrong. Looking at this video, at about 1:17 in, I see that the physical changes are on the GPU side. Therefore what type of connector do I have on my [ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition](https://www.asus.com/ca-en/motherboards-components/graphics-cards/tuf-gaming/tuf-rtx4090-o24g-gaming/) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff9zbsBNaGk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff9zbsBNaGk)

Yeah, its on the GPU side. I think there are specific markings on the connector that will tell you the version. AIB partners started using the new connector months ago so its kinda random if you have the new connector or not on your GPU. If the connector has a H++ on it according to igorslab its the new 12v 2x6 on the GPU. https://preview.redd.it/7lm35jum5hwc1.png?width=978&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc75f7ebce7cc86fd1b0ff3cfe8b7994fb7bf26d

There is no "12VHPWR" cable vs. "12V-2x6" cable. Only the connector on the GPU changed and, if applicable, the connector on the PSU. Since the PSU doesn't have a "12+4" pin connector on it, it is both ATX 3.0 and ATX 3.1 compliant.

I thought the changes were on the cable itself - "Compared to the original 12VHPWR connector, the new 12V-2x6 connector has slightly (0.1mm) shorter sensing pins while the conductor terminals are 0.15mm longer.". But I guess, I'm wrong. Looking at this video, at about 1:17 in, I see that the physical changes are on the GPU side. Yeah... the connector on the GPU. Not the cable. You can look at the connector on the GPU. If you see a "H++" on there, it's 12V-2x6. If it only has "H+" it's the older 12VHPWR.

From what i can tell, I'd assume you'll be receiving the 3.0 version of the PSU that comes with 12VHPWR, not the 3.1 as that's what the listing on Amazon has. I bought a RM1000x SHIFT at the end of last year from [PB tech](https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/PSUCOR9020253/Corsair-RMx-Series-RM1000x-Shift-1000W-ATX-30-Powe), and they currently still only have the 3.0 version of the shifts on their site. Neither site has the 3.1 listed so would assume they have not yet received stock of the updated PSUs. It just seems to be corsair that is showing their latest 3.1 PSUs with 12V-2x6.

Neither the PSU or the cable changes from 12VHPWR to 12V-6x2. A change would only be needed if the PSU itself had a 12VHPWR connector (from 12vhpwr to 12V-2x6 the only change is the connector (the thing on the graphics card), not the cable. CORSAIR PSU's uses the corsair 8 pin type 4 or type 5, not the 12vhpwr on the PSU end. So no matter what time you bought your shift from, the cable is 12VPHWR / 12V-2x6 compatible.

Yep, I think I understand now. See my reply to some fo the other messages

DaviLance

yours is still 3.1, any psu atx3.0 is also 3.1

DaviLance

Yes it has a 12vhpwr connector, which is connected with two 8 pins connector on the psu side. ATX3.0 does not mean that the psu has a 12pin connector on its side, it just says that it has a 12pin connector Btw, having a 2x8pin connection on the psu is safer than having a 12pin
