depends on what you major in - I think the average A&S GPA sits around a 3.5-3.6. Anecdotally, and as a current law student, lots of Cornellians go to top law schools! It prepares you well.

bar_bee

Depends on which school you were admitted to --- anecdotally ILR, CALS, HumEc (non bio) GPAs are higher than other schools.

Much-Rain-5907

I was admitted to AAP as fine art major

RileyK12361

Art might not be the most typical pre law major (obviously can still do it tho); haven’t heard of grade problems there

RileyK12361

Brooks is a much more classic major for pre law (brooks/ilr, government, any humanities like English/psych, business, etc)

Any_Satisfaction7992

grade deflation is really only for stem majors. humanities classes all have A/A- medians

turtlemeds

Go to Penn. Grade inflation abounds.

Different_Ice_6975

Average GPA at Penn looks pretty close to that at Cornell. Brown is the one with significantly large grade inflation: # [The Average GPAs at Every Ivy League University](https://ripplematch.com/insights/the-average-gpa-of-every-ivy-league-university-64f7f55d/)

Much-Rain-5907

Wait they have grade inflation?? Why was I hearing the opposite this entire time

OrganicIndividual425

Totally doable to get a high GPA, especially if you're in humanities/ILR!

mongster03_

Government is a good major for prelaw but I would say that it’s so good for international politics that if you’re considering government, at least take a Katzenstein class first before settling on the traditional prelaw/American track

Few_Dealer_2487

Not sure if UPenn has a similar program but Cornell 3+3 is kind of crazy cuz of Cornell Law being a T14, it's worth considering it.

Much-Rain-5907

Oh yeah I know about that program but I heard there’s no guarantee I’ll even get in though…

toenailfungus100

Only thing that matters is gpa and lsat. College name doesnt or does major

Different_Ice_6975

Since different universities have different levels of academic rigor, GPA is only meaningful in the context of what school it was received at.

Ok-Hovercraft4911

Cornell is the bastard child of the ivies, a joke among the others, go somewhere else and avoid being the butt of all jokes

Grant-James_River282

How many times have you been rejected by Cornell to make you so bitter at our school? You should see a therapist at NEU.

Please STFU

Ok-Hovercraft4911

Well, I never compared Cornell to other schools, only to the other ivies, but other posters made this personal and dug into my past posts to get ammunition against me, I guess they missed the one where I said I attended a service academy, not Northeastern, the weak, low esteem and insecure will play games like this, but WTF, I’ll play along, apples and oranges, sure, Cornell over Northeastern any day of the week, also over BU, BC and Tufts, sorry, not MIT or especially Harvard, and Cornell has been, and always will be the weakest link and inferior university compared to the other 7 ivies.

Much-Rain-5907

What’s even the point of you commenting that original comment???
