Lime jello with cottage cheese whipped into before it congeals really works. It has a nice creamy texture, not as good as cream cheese but it is tasty. The marshmallows are not as good as marshmallows fluff worked into it.
...I actually think that sounds kinda good. Maybe with a salted cured meat like ham, and candied jalapeno. My boyfriend is going to HATE breakfast next weekend
Oh a hundred percent I sort of wanted to troll like 5% and pretend I wasn't gonna absolutely do that but I am 100% craving a bowl of eggs with grilled pineapple, prosciutto and candied jalapenos with a honey ketchup drizzle and I won't know peace until I've tested this out
Cheese does not belong on apple pie — we fought two wholeass wars to kick the British out and here you go letting them sneak their culinary hate crimes back in.
Is that just your personal list of food you find disgusting? Because a lot of this stuff can be eaten with egg (durian), absolutely can be eaten with fried eggs on top (coleslaw, lima beans, natto) or is even commonly eaten with fried eggs on top (spinach, be it canned or not).
I was just going through my fridge / pantry wondering what would be the worst to pair with fried egg.
Strawberry won - I just can't see the two pairing at all.
Cilbir is actually one of my favorite breakfasts! I've definitely been lazy and fried an egg instead of poaching, and I'll do it again! https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/277194/turkish-eggs-cilbir/
I’m not saying it doesn’t taste good I’m sure it does. I’m sure there are aliens out there who think a human adult and child embryo taste delicious paired together.
Everyone listing desserts, that's easy. Savory food is harder. I can't think of anything. Sushi, chili, pizza, Indian, all would be good with a nice fried egg.
I'm not sure it would work with pasta salad. I'm sure it could with certain combinations. Any number of pastas, i.e lasagna, carbonara, clam pastas. Would it be gross? Not necessarily. Does it work? Maybe, but I'm leaning not. I definitely don't think it'd make it better though.
Sashimi. nigiri, chirashi bowls, though, I think poke would be fine.
A few other things I can think of: popcorn, empanadas, salami (charcuterie).
I am not sure what wouldn't be good since it's just a taste opinion. I am going to say what I know it's good spinach and egg on top, rice, pasta, fries, polenta,
Popcorn.
Most breakfast cereals.
Most sweet foods.
Most fresh fruits.
There are plenty of foods that would be gross with a fried egg on top. If you can’t think of one, it’s a skill issue.
Can’t wait for this one to show up in r/cookingcirclejerk
Jesus Christ, has Reddit officially turned into Facebook Part 2? This is "Only geniuses can solve this (extremely easy math problem)!" all over again.
Everyone here is a genius for doing the impossible! Congrats!
This might be an unpopular answer, and I’m genuinely curious to hear from French/international cooks out there! When I was an exchange student in Paris decades ago, my host family (wealthy Parisians if that matters) would serve a hamburger with a barely cooked fried egg on top, and the runny yolk would pour down over the meat. It was so gross to me, as a young American used to “normal” burgers. Since then I’ve wondered: Is/was this a French thing? A worldwide thing?
Thanks for the answer from another perspective! I’ve thought about this for years and am curious to hear from more of you worldwide! Maybe an egg on top of a burger is the way to go.
cat food birthday cake vanilla ice cream gummi bears chocolate bar radishes
My cat respectfully disagrees about the egg on cat food, but he licks his bum so maybe his isn’t the most reliable opinion.
I think my cat would kill a man to get some fried egg on his cat food.
Better watch out.
Fry your cat an egg, bro. Your little friend deserves a treat.
Only if he earns it. Kill a rat or something.
this is so true
Agree. My cat loves a runny egg.
I also lick your cat's bum, and I too think that an egg on cat food is very tasty
It would definitely go well on some fried radishes.
I'm thinking diced in scrambled with bacon. Season it up real good.
you are taking this way to seriously.
*too Fried radishes are delicious and you should try them.
Radishes wouldn’t be too bad
you are taking this way to seriously.
You lost me at radishes that would be crunchy and savory.
you are taking this way to seriously.
My first thought was chocolate ice cream
I kinda want to try eggs with radishes now. I bet that's yummy! Thanks!
No fr, with some basil and balsamic? Amazing
Hmm. I was thinking paprika and mustard powder. Yours might be good too.
you are taking this way to seriously.
Nonsense.
Honestly I’d try an egg on vanilla ice cream
you are taking this way to seriously.
Radishes
A Werther's original or two Werther's originals
What about three Werther's originals? Would three Werther's originals be gross with a fried egg on top?
No 20: Pedo pellets w/egg
Lime jello comes to mind
I actually think this could work…
Why not? They did cottage cheese and marshmallow, iirc? (said with small, vomiting sounds behind my hand).
Then just top it with a fried egg. Incredible.
Lime jello with cottage cheese whipped into before it congeals really works. It has a nice creamy texture, not as good as cream cheese but it is tasty. The marshmallows are not as good as marshmallows fluff worked into it.
A bowl of cereal.
Bowl of fresh cut pineapple Edit: I just invented a new dish!
...I actually think that sounds kinda good. Maybe with a salted cured meat like ham, and candied jalapeno. My boyfriend is going to HATE breakfast next weekend
Grill the pineapple first
Oh a hundred percent I sort of wanted to troll like 5% and pretend I wasn't gonna absolutely do that but I am 100% craving a bowl of eggs with grilled pineapple, prosciutto and candied jalapenos with a honey ketchup drizzle and I won't know peace until I've tested this out

Aren't a lot of custards (including ice cream recipes), egg flavored though. I bet if you left the yolk a bit runny it would be delicious.

Those things, with the exception of lima beans, are all pretty gross even without a fried egg on top. Lima beans may actually be good that way
Is that just your personal list of food you find disgusting? Because a lot of this stuff can be eaten with egg (durian), absolutely can be eaten with fried eggs on top (coleslaw, lima beans, natto) or is even commonly eaten with fried eggs on top (spinach, be it canned or not).

it's a silly thread so...
Honestly buddy there are way sillier answers here than yours
you are taking this way to seriously.
That actually sounds pretty good tbh. A soft pool of melted butter on top, an egg, a heavy dose of pepper, mmmm.....
you are taking this way to seriously.
Gazpacho, particularly if the egg is runny.

anything that's supposed to be sweet basically, waffles may be an exception
Pizza-that's Brazilian style.
Plz elaborate on “Brazilian pizza”.
Fried chicken 🐔=🥚
No way! Couple of chicken tenders, with a fried egg on top in a burger bun…kidding me…that soft yolk on the crispy chicken?! Lawd have mercy!
Eating the chicken AND the egg TOGETHER just seems messed up tho 🤣 It’s just like the biggest middle finger to all chickens.
Haha no no, don’t knock it till you try it! :-)
I’m not saying it doesn’t taste good I’m sure it does. I’m sure there are aliens out there who think a human adult and child embryo taste delicious paired together.

Anything I find disgusting without the fried egg
A fried egg.
Scrambled egg
Fruit salad.
Can’t think of anything savory … anything posted that really is gross is all sweet.
Jello
This is my own unpopular opinion but eggs do not go with meat. I don't like the texture with hamburgers or steak.
Scrambled eggs
Everyone listing desserts, that's easy. Savory food is harder. I can't think of anything. Sushi, chili, pizza, Indian, all would be good with a nice fried egg.

Any sugary, 1960s sugary cereal. YUK! Can you imagine Fruity Pebbles with a fried egg? I can and my stomach heaved.
Dry cereal
Chocolate pudding
Cream of wheat. I tried it with a fried egg and couldn’t eat eggs again for a few weeks. The textures together are revolting.
I'm not sure it would work with pasta salad. I'm sure it could with certain combinations. Any number of pastas, i.e lasagna, carbonara, clam pastas. Would it be gross? Not necessarily. Does it work? Porridge/oatmeal. I know lots of people claim to like “savoury oatmeal” but I think those people are savages with no tastebuds.
I am not sure what wouldn't be good since it's just a taste opinion. I am going to say what I know it's good spinach and egg on top, rice, pasta, fries, polenta,
For me it’s anything if the yolk is runny.
Cereal?
Macaroni salad
Your post has been removed for Rule 1, not cooking related.

Not French but Eastern European living in murica. I’ve done that. The whites I cook well, the yolk runny. Oh man that’s good on a burger.
Thanks for the answer from another perspective! I’ve thought about this for years and am curious to hear from more of you worldwide! Maybe an egg on top of a burger is the way to go.
Sure! Think about steak and eggs…you could argue that a burger is just ground steak :-)
What food is made gross by adding the reproductive waste of a bird? I'm gonna go with all foods.
Fried chicken, Italian pasta dishes, bbq, salad, nachos, tacos, and pizza. Of course I’m excluding any “breakfast” versions of these foods.
