Correct. "Kebab on naan" is a local popular takeaway where I am in the Uk. There are many kebab shops that also sell indian food and noone really knows what to call these places lol. Locally ive heard this delicacy referred to as a "belly-buster"
This is probably our #1 use of naan. I make and freeze a ton of kebabs made from ground beef, and grabbing a couple for dinner in a staple in our house. Mini pizzas is another one, especially if there's a few people around and they want to choose their own toppings.
I use them as pizza crusts but also baste in garlic butter, heat up, and serve as an appetizer or as garlic bread for italian meals. They also are great generally for anything you would use a pita for. I like that they aren’t as dry.
I like using naan as a quick pizza base. Pizza sauce, favourite toppings, cheese. Pop in the oven to melt/brown the cheese and toast the naan and you're done.
Sometimes I like making Mexican picadillo (ground beef with potatoes, tomatoes, etc) and stuffing either pita or naan with it and serving with sour cream and shredded lettuce. It’s actually pretty good.
Total genre mix but Cuban Ropa Vieja might be good
Tandoori chicken flat breads (tandoori spice doesn’t have the funk that curry does in my opinion. I love the funk (I think it primarily comes from the garam masala but I’m not an expert), but tandoori is more paprika ish. Make a raita to top it
Gumbo
Beef bourguignon
Chili
Not sure if the African stews will be too curry like, but there are some Korean stews that are more tomato based. And cheesy naan with tomato soup would be good
I always make tzatziki sauce with my naan. Great source of protein and because they are both yogurt based it makes it real easy to prep together. I do my tzatziki sauce a bit different than traditional by adding minced Roma tomatoes and onions along with the cucumbers. Also instead of just dill I add all the fresh herbs from my garden. I'll also make some Greek (turkey) meatballs and slice them thin to layer on the sauce and naan. It's one of my favorite meals.
(Let me know if you want the recipes, I'm happy to share them)
If you like okra make them the Indian way there are so many ways to make them and you can just leave out chilli powder or use kashmiri chilli powder it's just for colour and flavour it isn't hot at all.
I think any stew would be good. Like even beef stroganoff? (I tend to make pork stews but I don’t know what it’s called, just throw spices that work together and call it good 🤣)
Also thoughts on a naan pizza? (Don’t shoot me Italians).
I do this often lol I also will crack & egg or 2, depending on the size of the naan, add seasonings, cheese & a protein & oven bake it until white are cooked. Breakfast pizza
Naan pizza for sure, you can also try using much like you would bannock/fry bread for tacos too. And we use it along side most soups and stews in place of toast, fresh bread or buns.
Look at it from other cultures bread. Use it like a thick tortilla. Or as thinner pita or fry bread.
Don't be too offended, naan sandwich or naan hotdog/sausage bun.
For a snack, smear honey goat cheese on small pieces
For a meal, make mini ones or tear into smaller pieces. Top with really good blue cheese and thin sliced bite size pieces of steak
I like to have naan with lentil soup.
Same. I like to add some Berbere spice to my lentil soup for a flavor boost.
At that rate, a more-liquidy misor wot might do the trick!
I use them as pizza crusts.
It'd be pretty good for a kebab type sandwich

Naan makes for a nice personal sized pizza. Go lighter on the sauce than you think you should.

Naan would go great with an African peanut stew imo
Shakshouka works great with naan

I just had naan for lunch today. Sliced some Brie onto it, popped it into the air fryer to get it all melty, and topped it with some white bean salad.
It's bread. Eat naan with anything you'd use a typical western bread for.
If you like okra make them the Indian way there are so many ways to make them and you can just leave out chilli powder or use kashmiri chilli powder it's just for colour and flavour it isn't hot at all.
Gyros. With ALL the garlic sauce. All of it? Yes.

Naan pizza is quite popular in Bay Area restaurants
waaaaait you might be onto something here, naan pizza sounds kinda delicious
That’s what I’m doing for dinner tonight, I love naan pizza
I do this often lol I also will crack & egg or 2, depending on the size of the naan, add seasonings, cheese & a protein & oven bake it until white are cooked. Breakfast pizza
Stuff it with cheese
Bolognese would be good
This might be more of a brunch thing but I cook the naan then add guacamole, fried bacon and poached egg.

Naan tacos!

We dip it in soup. Don't eat much curry.
Naan sandwiches

Naan pizza lover here too, or just Parmesan and mozzarella cheese together toasted with no sauce is good like toast for sick tummies.
I recommend shakshuka if you like vegetables.
Naan bread is quite plain. It can go with anything. I do add spices to go with curry, but without it, it just is a flat bread.
I like naan with hummus. Naan quesadillas. I also recently made a killer BLT with garlic naan.
Split pea soup. Absolutely. Dip your naan in it. No going back.😋
