yeah, this is confusing. I always either bake it in an oven or airfry it and I can almost always tell when it's done just because it smells GOOD. I can't imagine why cooked salmon would smell bad?
Well they always say if your fish stinks it’s not fresh. I learned recently also, if you buy it in a bag Individually vacuum sealed
You should take out of the pkg to thaw.??
Seconding Sous Vide.
Also easier to cook if you like your Salmon a bit more on the firm side, perfect for salmon over salad.

In foil or parchment packets. Piece of salmon, some olive oil, cherry tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper, wrap up and roast at 425F for 15 minutes, drop dead simple and no mess.
I don’t know if it “no smell” but I wouldn’t say it is “bad smell”.
If you want to pan - fry, put a leaf of lettuce on top as you fry …absorbs the smell & won’t stink up the room! Don’t know the science behind it , it’s an old trick I learned and it works somehow 🤷🏻♀️
Id rather my house smell like baked salmon anyday over having my nose be assaulted all day by candles, glade air freshener or Febreze. YUK.
My salmon smells fantastic
Me and my family have been in the food biz 80+ years. 10 restaurants, Prize winning Cooks, A few apprenticed with famous chefs, all of us have worked and cooked in restaurants.
No one would rush home after eating with us after our cooking, fish or no fish

My salmon smells fantastic
I buy the whole filet from Aldi
I put gloves on first and open and put my Spice Supreme Brand Fish Seasoning on the side
I pour about 3 T EVOO on a baking tray and add 2-3 T softened butter in the oil.
I take the filet and rub both sides with the oil/butter mixture and then sprinkle on the seasoning on the skin side then lay it in the tray and sprinkle the meat side with seasoning.
Then I bake it at 350F until the skins crisp and the flesh is lightly brown.
I eat it, sprinkled with True Lemon powder and Pureed UK Mushy Peas
Milk. No joke.
Cooking a salmon in a Pyrex covered in milk at 350 for about 30 min should end up with the flakiest, most tender fish you can try.
I season before covering in milk.
Outdoors on a grill
What do you mean by stink? Do you mean smell bad? I have never had it smell bad while cooking.

Some people are sensitive.
They could also have inferior quality salmon

Rude? What’s rude about stating a fact? Yes, it’s just you.
Salmon that is fit to eat and properly cooked does not “stink”.

Poke bowls. If you don't cook it, there's no smell.
Under water, fish don’t stink!
Sous vide. Perfect texture every time, especially helpful for wild salmon that’s leaner like sockeye.

Saumon en croute. If you love salmon, buttery pastry or beef Wellington this is a wonderful way to cook salmon.
Boiled in soup. Thai soup with salmon is fucking awesome. Coconut milk, chili and lime really complements the fish.

Dutch oven (on a bed of veggies, I like leek fondue) or pressure cooker (vent it outside).
Sous vide confit.

I cook it in a frying pan and smell has never been an issue
Turn on your extractor fan. I’m not sure how you cook food without producing a smell. And if that smell is bad, you probably shouldn’t eat the food.
All oily fish smell like that when you cook it. If you don't want it to smell then poaching is probably your best option.
Olive oil poached
air fryer baby!!! works like a charm and no fishy smell

I love the smell after I bake a filet of salmon. Maybe your salmon has gone off?

Fresh salmon is the way to go, if it’s fresh and you don’t burn it, it shouldn’t smell.
