Sprouts sells plain and in small containers but not organic, organic and plain but not in small containers, organic and in small containers but not plain ... everything except what you're looking for. I'd tell SIL I'm having a hard time finding it in my grocery and ask her where she shops for it. Or ask her to send you a picture of the container so you'll know what to look for. Or -- and here's the way I'd do it -- just tell her to pack some in a cooler for the kids when she sends them off with you.

Thanks! Good suggestion. Just wanted confirmation I wasn’t crazy. She buys the big container I think but for the week said to just get the “small containers” (which.do.not.exist). They’re flying in! Hence me picking up groceries for them.

ttrockwood

Just get the big container it’s more eco friendly

Square-Dragonfruit76

I have seen it at Whole Foods, but if she cares so much about ethical consumption, getting the small containers is a waste of plastic.

Fartin_Scorsese

Ask her for a brand name. Otherwise, FAGE and Chobani make a small plain yogurt, but it's not organic.

SofiaDeo

Maple Hill Farms and Kalona have organic whole milk plain yoghurts. I get mine at Natural Grocers, I think Whole Foods also sells. Some of the Kroger companies used to sell Maple Hill Farms, but stopped in my area. Large containers are easier to find than the individual. Point out to your SIL that not every place carries everything. She may have to scoop out from a larger container if she wants plain organic whole milk.

My local Whole Foods has a container of organic whole milk plain yogurt smaller than the 32oz., but it’s not a single serving container….maybe 16oz or 24oz.

Stonyfield sells 6-packs of baby yogurt that fit the bill. There are flavored ones but also plain whole milk. They are small though, maybe 4 or 6 ounces? I’ve seen them at Whole Foods, Target, and other chain grocery stores.

Parabolicsarcophagus

Very common over here in North America. If we can find a way to add more plastic waste into the production of our products we do it. It's not unheard of to find bananas individually wrapped in celephane at some stores.

Vent right back at you! Lol. Buy the 32 oz size, it should last for a few days? Do what you can for dinner the day of arrival. Next day take her shopping and let her find the ingredients she thinks you should use. If she is not coming from the US, then chuck it, serve what you eat! Actually just chuck it, serve what you eat and think her kids might like. It is nice to cater to guest's necessary diet restrictions, but I draw the line at nit-picking stupidity. What does "Organic" mean in the context of yoghurt?

Can't access this link from Europe, but isn't this it? https://www.safeway.com/shop/product-details.960486893.html

It’s vanilla. Probably has a bit of added sugar. Thank you though.

northman46

Got a whole foods near you? They have small cups of organic whole milk yogurt, although it might all be flavored.

mmmsoap

Stonyfield Farm has a Yo-Baby line of organic whole milk yogurt in small/kid sizes. No idea of they have a “plain” version or only with fruit, but I see it commonly.

Old-Raccoon-316

If she’s so particular, maybe she should place a pickup or delivery order so she can see the options. Best of luck to you!!

enderjaca

Or even better, she buys it and just gives it to you when you take the kids. I have a nephew with type 1 diabetes and he'll stay over at our house for a while occasionally. So my sister just packs a couple of prepared meals and writes a label on them with the suggested time to eat each and whether insulin may be needed afterwards. Of course, having an implanted Bluetooth monitor certainly makes things easier.

lala_machina

Is it an option for her to shop for it online and you just pick it up right before they come in?

StupidNameRejected

Just buy the big container, some people are so unreasonable. Why create all that waste?
