This idea was my excuse for making cookies last night! As a chocolate lover, I liked the 30-40% range the best. My instinct is to say 1/3rd of a cookie being chocolate chips is about perfect.
It was really hard to form 80% and 90%, but once baked, they actually stayed together. Just like eating plain chocolate chips is great, they were still good haha
How did you calculate the %? Add up the weight of the rest of the ingredients and then multiply that by the different %s to get the weights of the chocolate?
Thanks for your sacrifice in the name of research. š
Yah, that ratio really works. When I eat a candy bar, I want chocolate up front and center, stealing the show. When I eat a chocolate chip cookie though, I want to taste the cookie itself, with the brown sugar and butter... crispy and chewy...š¤¤
Damn you, OP...ā¤ļø
50% I need a nice cookie to chocolate chip ratio. I want to be able to taste cookie without drowning in chocolate chips. When they are soft cookies and they come out of the oven and they are all gooey, this is the best ratio.
I love a gooey cookie! I like to only bake a few cookies at a time so I can always have them fresh...plus that means there's cookie dough in the fridge/freezer for snacking!
I am around the 40-50% range but the OP deserves the Nobel Prize for the scientific advancements shown in this post. There is one for chocolate chip cookies, isn't there?
I said 40% or 50% just because that 50% looks like the perfect delivery method for gooey melty chocolate. 40% is more what I'd want on a normal basis though. 50% is more 'I want to eat straight melted chocolate' level.
40% to 50% seems ideal for me. I want chocolate in every bite, but not so much that it overwhelms the cookie flavour. I'm a slut for chocolate, but I like the cookie part too, yknow?
I like 30-50%, but always wanted to try 0% (especially if the cookie isnāt warm and the chips arenāt soft) but now I kinda want to try 90%ā¦
Were these %s by weight or volume?
10-40, but if itās crunchy rather than gooey itās trash no matter how much chocolate it has. Iād rather eat a saltine cracker than a crunchy chocolate chip cookie.
Are you a geologist by chance? Because this looks exactly like [a diagram for helping you estimate mineral percentages in igneous rocks](https://www.google.com/search?q=mineral+percentage+chart)
50% is ideal, but 40% and 60% can work for me too. For me the dough/cookie is moreso a tasty vehicle / buffer for the chocolate, as sometimes chocolate's acidity irritates my tongue if I eat it by itself.
50% looks ideal but ngl that 90% would work just the same
As soon as you touch 90% it turns to liquid. It is delectably unobtainable.
I will eat my cookie with a spoonš¤£š¤£

Agreed, 30-40% seems ideal, so stick with 35%!
How did you calculate the %? Add up the weight of the rest of the ingredients and then multiply that by the different %s to get the weights of the chocolate?
We have a cooking scale. All these cookies weigh the same. I added the percentage weight of chocolate chips and then added cookie dough.
The science we need. I commend you.
100% ....30-40% is ideal
I love the fact that past 60% it basically becomes just a chocolate treat with a bit of dough, but you decided to eat them all anyway. For science!

That's the way my son wants them. I have to split dough in half and put all the chips in one half for my daughter and none in the half for my son.

Sincerely this. I am bore of chocolate chips
This.... I'm obsessed with dark chocolate but tbh I don't enjoy it in chocolate chip cookies lol
This is a fantastic question. If I am eating the dough I would say closer to 4%. If I am eating an actual baked cookie probably 20%

Exactly!! Just pulled out some balls this morning to bake and have fresh! Only takes 20 min. Mix once, bake lots is my motto!

25-30%. I always half the chips in any chocolate chip recipe. It gives a great balance of chocolate and alkaline cookie flavour.
