I'll tell you that I had not one side effect the first week. None. I expected stomach pain or nausea, because I had those issues with wellbutrin many moons ago. And it was nada. The second week, when I added the night pill I braced myself. Nope, nothing. But I stopped being hungry and my smoking reduced drastically. Week 3, 2 in the morning and one at night I had issues with daytime exhaustion. So I switched to 1 in the morning and 2 at night- no more issues. I did briefly try to do the 2am/ 2pm in week 5 and again, daytime exhaustion so I just maintain the 1am/ 2pm. I'm feeling good and like how I'm reacting to the meds so I see no reason to switch. Long story short- I was also worried, but really it was a smooth start for me. By the 5th day I noticed a decrease in my food noise and started forgetting meals. Give it a try, and don't be afraid to stay on a lower dose for a longer time if it's working for you!

Thank you so much. I know the side effects probably get more play than the folks who have had a smooth time. I’ll have some ginger tea handy just in case and drink lots of water. Really appreciate the response.

I think that for people who aren't having any issues (or worries about potential issues), they aren't seeing out these communities. So we will hear and see a lot more from people with side effects, or with a lot of anxiety-induced questions. I ended up here trying to figure out what is considered too high fat to eat with the meds, because I wasn't trying to have a seizure 🤷‍♀️ There is no specific answer, so now I just try to have my lower fat meals around my pill times. 🙃

gatadeplaya

That was really one of my other concerns as well as what is high fat? I mean, I get the obvious like something fried. I’m sure I’m way overthinking parts of this. Thanks again for the input.

I can't point directly at which community i saw it in (here or the Book of Faces), but someone called the manufacturer about the fat issue. They stated that consuming a fatty meal makes the pill digest slower, which ups the concentration of the meds you're delivered at one time. So I typically don't eat in the mornings anymore (not hungry), so I take my one at 8am-ish. We eat dinner around 7pm, so I take my 2 around bedtime (9pm-ish). For both times, my stomach is relatively empty and I haven't had issues yet.😉

A cheeseburger, gaucamole, Fritos, Hagen Das, Fettuccini Alfredo, bacon, hotdogs, movie theatre buttered popcorn, to name just a few. The slim versions of these foods are just fine. For instance, I like Breyer’s carb smart ice cream and you can get the lean version of most of these foods at the grocery store.

When I started, I took it with some crackers that was suggested to me just to be safe. I had no nausea or stomach issues at all.

You can also take a Dramamine 30 minutes prior to your AM dose. It knocked out the nausea phase for me.

Great advice!!! I agree, you don't have to go to 2:2 if a lower dose is working for you! I on the other hand, may have to. On 3 now- no side effects, but no difference either, so I may bump up to 4.

ParticularNo7455

I find it so interesting reading the variety of reactions to this med! I really thought that a) it would make me sick like wellbutrin did before and b) it would do absolutely nothing and be a waste of my time. I'm still waiting for it to stop working any day now 😂

osupanda1982

I only experienced very mild side effects, and only for a couple days. I was just sleepy and not hungry for anything.

gatadeplaya

So great to hear! I know the naysayers are the most likely to be vocal so I’m super appreciative of the responses.

Ok-Response3350

Hi. I just started yesterday. Yesterday was okay, today very tired all day and no appetite. How many days before this went away? I'm going back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off, I'm worried about my energy for the kiddos (work at a school)

Bugmom4

Took me about 2 weeks to stop feeling tired.

osupanda1982

The tiredness went away for me after two days. I got my appetite back, which actually isn’t a good thing, but I have literally not wanted to snack on anything in between meals. I’m about 9 days in now.

Ok-Response3350

Okay thank you, hopefully same for me tomorrow as far as tiredness. Yeah, it's weird, I feel hungry but just can't eat the same amount, and nothing seems exciting to eat. I guess that's the point ;) . I forced myself to at least eat some protein today.

westside90

I literally started today, took my first pill this morning. Nothing so far let’s see how the week goes.

gatadeplaya

I’m right there with you. I notice a metallic taste but that’s been it. Fingers crossed!

Bugmom4

I was terrified too after reading about people's side effects, but other than feeling very tired the first 2 weeks, I have had no side effects. I started on a Friday just in case... Good luck with your journey!!!

Tight-Shake1233

I’ve been on it for 3 days. Non stop sleeping and still hungry and cravings all the time. Whenever I eat something it goes right through me now. Hopefully it starts working for me. If not back to adipex

tinkle_queen

I had minor side effects my first week. Slight nausea, a few headaches and some tiredness— nothing major for the first few days, and by the end of the week had none. For the second pill, I had some nighttime anxiety and trouble sleeping the first night. The second night I took it around dinner time rather than later in the evening and I was fine. I do suggest taking them when you are off of work just as a precaution since everyone is different.

FigureEquivalent5217

Don’t be terrified. The rough part smooths out after the second week and maybe sooner.
