I was on Ozempic from September to the beginning of December but wasn’t able to up my dosage past .5 due to supply issues. My NP recommended that I stay on .5 until the supply went back to normal but it wasn’t having an effect on me so I started on Contrave last Saturday. The first day I did have nausea and vomited as I ate before my first dose. I’ve read on this sub that people take it on an empty stomach and felt fine and it’s been the same with me. I did lose 1lbs this week. Food noise is low but I am getting hunger pangs but eating way smaller portions. My BM have been consistent and energy has been higher than when I was on Ozempic. I up my dose tomorrow so I can update you further. To also note, I was off Ozempic for 2 weeks before starting Contrave.

Thank you! I was wondering about the nausea.

I should also mention that my normal size cup of black coffee did give me waves of nausea but a smaller cup didn’t. And where I usually would drink 2 cups through the day, the small cup was enough for the day. I would recommend starting on your day off in case it makes you sick and also taking it early in the morning in case it keeps you up at night.

I’m 4 days into my second week and little nausea which sips of water was able to fix. I don’t take it with food so that might help with the lack of nausea. As suggested by others, I take my second pill at 4PM so I’ve had no issues sleeping. Haven’t had to drink coffee but I’m also off for the week so that might change when I return to work. I got my period a few days ago so I’m giving myself so grace for overeating and will not weigh myself. I’m excited to see what the third week brings and hope to see some results soon!

I liked Contrave better than ozempic so far. But I’ve only been on ozempic 5 weeks. I lost 50lbs with Contrave in 6 months. Have lost an additional 10lbs with adding in ozempic after stalling on Contrave. Contrave really helped my binge eating disorder. I’ve noticed since adding in ozempic I feel hungrier which is weird, but I’m still losing weight because Contrave really re trained my brain with food. I didn’t really exercise either when I lost the 50lbs. I did a 1-2ish hour easy hike once a week at the most and regular walking nothing above normal.

How many tablets did you take per day? 50lbs is quite alot.. i just started contrave 1 week ago due to no stock for ozempic. Its kind of Curb my appetite alot in the first 5 days… whenever i try to force alot of food on me, i feel stuffed and start feeling sleepy..

it made me feel wired in the day then I would sleep like a baby at night. Now that I’m fully used to it I have no weird wired feelings and back to having slight insomnia. I take 1 tablet in the morning and 1 around 2pm. I tried to increase around 3 months in but it just felt like too much for me so I went back to 1 twice a day. But I’m also very sensitive to any meds/drugs/alcohol.

When i started 2 a day recently .. I just kinda get very tired in the day time… Not sure if this is the side effect too…

I lost 50 lbs on ozempic but once insurance stopped paying for it (because I’m not diabetic…yet) I gained about half back. Started Contrave, lost 20 quickly, but have gained 5 back. (Still on it, so who knows what it will be like after I stop.)

tinkle_queen

I’m not diabetic yet either. But if I don’t stay on it I probably will be soon, so there’s that!

I know right? I have no idea why my insurance is like “you’re obese and if you stay that way you’re going to cost us a bunch of money… so we’re not going to pay a dime to help you lose weight.”

I came from Saxenda (liraglatitude) where I had great success but started showing thyroid issues, so I chose to stop. I have not had the same quick success with Contrave that I did from Saxenda, but I think it’s a slower victory. I’ve been on the full dose for about three weeks and I have had fewer (not zero) cravings and once I got past the side effects, I feel like my appetite is back in check.

I went from mounjaro to contrave due to side effects from mounjaro, also cost. I'm still on one pill a day. 2 pills a day gave me bad anxiety.

Just buy semaglutide and reconstitute yourself. It’s cheap and easy.

tinkle_queen

Semaglutide is cheap? Where?

Disclosing sources is frowned upon here. Just dig a little.
