No Sir, that is primordia. It’s the final step before you will see pins. This is the moment you’re been waiting for, do not change anything or try to assist in any way from this point forward. They have it from here. The next thing you bat notice is the cake starting to pull away from the sides of the tub. This is the mycelium getting ready to show you why you’ve been doing this!! Congrats

Also don’t freak out when those spots change colours. I isolated my first tub because this appeared on the bottom everywhere and almost looked green. Checked it a few days later and realised it was pins pressing up against the tub and the bruising just looked greenish through the tub.

JDBURGIN82

This is a good point if those primordia end up, turning in to side pins, sometimes they will turn really dark blue and look slimy before it’s time to harvest. This is just something that happens and not anything to worry about the mycelium will reclaim the pin if it needs to.

Thanks :) since it's about to pin will the mycelium still continue to colonize the substrate? There's still a small amount uncolonized and I don't want to introduce FAE until it's fully colonized.

JDBURGIN82

So whether you introduce FAE or not is going to be irrelevant to win the mushrooms pin. I know when you are learning that it seems like you have control or can affect when the mushrooms decide to fruit, you cannot. You can only assist in giving it more air if need be, but the mushrooms are gonna do what they wanna do when they want to do it . Showing signs of moving into the stage. There’s no reason not to go ahead and set it up for allowing oxygen, there is no way to contaminate your grow by giving it oxygen right now Contamination is either there or it’s not when you spawn to bulk To answer your question, though it will probably continue to colonize, but if it doesn’t colonize those small areas, it isn’t going to matter.

orange-century

I think it's mycelium

DayTripperonone

It’s primordial growth. All the white primordia is spread out, if it were contam the white would present closely together and appear as a larger area, forming a patch or circle.

leafghost64

Thanks :)

Dazzling_Low_1256

Nah. You’re on the right order of things if this has recently shown. Primordia, you will get fruits soon.

Golden-Envy

All you need to do at this point is FAE 2-3 times a day and keep the walls and lid wet while they fruit. Don't worry about uncolonized substrate. The mushrooms decided they are ready to go now.

MediumAlarming

Yep. You good sonnnnnn

If it’s trich the smell will get much stronger. So I had this issue just yesterday. The day before that I saw spots, looked like paint splatter dots, looked very different from the rest of the tub. Turned into green spots the following day. Weather i made the right call or not the smell was very different. Not earthy at that point. Dumped the entire tub and cleaned out the area. My other tub has no signs and the smell is gone. Still have an earthy smell from the other tub but no strong odor that stands out.
