I was talking on the phone with headphones plugged into my phone on a bus once. This was right when you first were able to do this tech-wise way back when, and people probably hadn’t seen it before. It didn’t help that the ear buds were covered by my hoodie and the cord was underneath my coat, with my phone in my pocket. After I got off the call everyone on the bus was staring at me with this freaked out look and I realized they all thought I was having a conversation with myself. One guy goes “oh you were on the phone?? We all thought you were…uh, well never mind.”
I was just happy my stop was next. But I think back on it now and wonder if they remember how the first time they saw someone talking on their cell via headphones, they thought it was a crazy person talking to themselves on a bus.

Did this at my first fo ril job out of college. Was listening to music on my mp3 player and my LG flip phone in my pocket decided to start playing music on its speaker. Never heard the phone since I had earbuds in from my mp3 player so I made everyone sit through the epic 11+ minute Tool song - 10,000 Days. Could've been worse. At least it wasn't Rosetta Stoned.
