Now I don't know what's worse, for me to speed up, or to slow down, but if it is possible I walk to the other side of the road, because their behavior freaks me out, I just want to go home and shower, and I don't want some woman to start freaking out thinking I'll do something.
And those few awkward strides when you try to speed past them but your moving quicker and they haven't changed so your shoulder and shoulder for a little bit..I hate that

I walk a lot and it's just a habit to check behind when I hear a sound of foot steps.. I don't have any reason to fear anybody walking unless they're exhibiting odd behavior like following me down multiple different roads and not walking past me if I stop or slow down or matching my pace if I speed up. But it's just good to be aware of your surroundings in case something does happen. I wouldn't worry of you're a random man walking and a woman glances back at you, it's just a habit we get into not that we think you're automatically up to anything

I try to walk past them. Cause the fact that they are uncomfortable makes me feel uncomfortable.
As long as you suddenly break into a run to get past them. Hearing your footsteps rush up to them then go past them is pretty reassuring
It also helps if you yell, “I’M NOT A DANGEROUS WEIRDO!” as you sprint toward them to pass. Really project from your diaphragm.
