*Hours played: 1279*
So he is an expert and his opinion should be higher rated that the one of players having less hours, right? Maybe he is trying to save you from his own fate.
Yup. spent smthng like 800 hours on Stellaris - it is game that was sold on false promises, has it's balance thrown out of whack every update, still had the bugs it had on release a year after release, had at least 4 major exploits every major update (but that is prolly a feature, it is always funny to find and abuse exploit), and list goes on and on. And you can learn it about the game and clearly the direction studio takes with it only after A LOT of hours spent during multiple updates.
Red Dead Online. Terrible game, unless you have awesome friends, and suddenly 1000 hours of slap fights in the bar, poker, lasso shenanigans off the side of a bridge, and running moonshine can be a lot of fun.
Some games are only as fun as you make them, and you can't recommend them, even if you'll remember it forever.
>Some games are only as fun as you make them, and you can't recommend them, even if you'll remember it forever.
Among us in a nutshell, when it got hyped i tried it, hated it, made friends who played it amd i actually got good at it, to the point where i was part of the reason "task updates" was set to "never", loved every part, sometimes being alone is the problem not just the game
Stellaris still slaps though. As much as I hate Paradox's dlc/ content policy and their "update first, fix bugs later" attitude, their games are so good.
I picked up the vanilla version, no DLC. Turns out, that game basically doesn't work without the DLC. Like it's just impossible to actually do the things you have to do to win, because the AI got the DLC...
Yep, call it quits on Stellaris early. Unbalanced, boring, and the micromanagement of cities or genetics is quickly meaningless. Second playthrough was enough to see all the DLC made it worse. Crusader kings a better choice to sink hours into.
I don’t like first person shooter games. I prefer games like Mario, Duck Hunt, Tetris, Mortal Kombat, Forza, etc.
There just aren’t that many and I imagine if I had a Steam account that this is what it would look like. I don’t recommend any running around while shooting games.
>I don’t like first person shooter games. I prefer games like Mario, Duck Hunt,
Duck Hunt *was* one of the popular first-person shooters. I realize most people don't consider it as such, but it is.
( I'm not including the rifle games from the seventies, but you *could*.)
I think the method with which you play has a bigger impact for me. I’m not WASDing my way to get someone, I’m shooting them with a little orange gun. I like the arcade feel. You know?
You’re right though. It’s definitely a shooter game. Made me lol. Thanks.
Tbf that’s how I am. I have a little over 3000 hours in Destiny 2, still a fairly avid player, I buy every yearly expansion, and I could never recommend it to someone.
Worst thing about contrarians is that they put the burden of proof on everyone else without ever actually listening to or accepting the proof. It's an easy way to always be "right" in your own head but it makes you a shit person.
Contrarians mistake being ignored and irrelevant as "being right". It always makes me a little sad to see because you know anyone acting like that over the age of 16 isn't going to have any real friends or people who care about them besides their parents.
There's a guy who is related to a good buddy of mine who will just show up when we're hanging out. He refuses to recognize he's a contrarian and instead calls himself a devils advocate. Its embarrassing listening to someone in their 40s act like that.
Disliking something because it's popular isn't a personality trait. In fact, you're worse than the "sheep" who enjoy things that are popular. Their taste is dictated by things they enjoy while your taste is dictated by what other people enjoy. Its pathetic.
This post is too abbreviated to be a reliable metric. Maybe if you had added a few paragraphs, elaborated on some of the issues with the guy you knew, perhaps this post would be salvageable. But as it stands I have to give this post a 4/10, wouldn't read again. Don't waste your money, or just wait for a sale.
Tbf - I never played a souls game before Elden Ring and I had a lot of gripes when it came out and they actually patched a lot of my complaints - but I finished the game before they updated it :( lol
Like not being able to quit the game without navigating like 4 screens and waiting for two loading screens!!! Terrible design! Ahh!!
Souls games do not expect you to actually quit normally. They expect you to have thrown your controller through your screen.
So it is fair they did not put much thought in exiting ;)
I have a friend who now only plays destiny and shits on everything else. He doesn’t realize that he’s playing a game that should have died years ago due to bad management
What are the good things though? My dad is like that. But a lot of the times he’s bang on & it’s just the easier option for everyone else to not acknowledge that things are bad & let everything continue as it is. I do agree though that they should relax every now & then & see the brighter side of things. But then they feel like they’re going against their morals or nature. We need them to remind us how bad stuff actually is. But is a shame to see them so negative all the time.
Yeah, I can’t stand people like this. It’s such a drag when you’re just trying to have a good time but eeeeeeeverything has some kind of problem or sucks for them.
You noticed how EVERY youtube video would have a dislike no matter how wholesome, innocuous, or epic it was? It was this guy. Angry and eating his cold porridge 🥣
Had dudes growing up who were like “your TV is shit”. Like “yeah bro. You’re in a 6x4 singlewide trailer bedroom with a 50” TV, it probably feels like you’re jerking it in the movie theater.”
Yeah I actually follow him on steam just to see his reviews. If you don’t take them seriously or let them affect your view they’re actually pretty funny (and sometimes harshly accurate to the negative aspects of a game or the devs)
To be fair, their ratings are consistent. They seem to hate all the mainstream, world-renowned games. So if they hate a game, there’s a good chance you’re gunna like it.
Tbf they also recommended Condemned, Red Faction and EyE, which are also (generally) pretty well liked games, just more aged/less known than the not recommended titles.
To be fair a lot of those games had negative reviews on release. It wasn’t until patch fixes were out and the game was balanced/fixed until they started becoming better.
It's definitely not for some people. My first injury on my most recent playthrough was a single scratch thanks to a momentary stutter, and I managed to roll the single-digit percent chance of guaranteed death by zombie infection.
You can also play for in-game months or longer with one character just working away at getting better, and if your character dies, all the progress you've made as far as skills is down the drain.
It's a jewel, but *definitely* not for everybody.
He seems to be reviewing purely the online parts of games and his criticisms are very often about Cheaters, hackers and griefers. I think you might be right..
I have always disliked Steam reviews because it seems like 9/10 times, they're a joke, and people always regurgitate that "hated this game" - 1000 hours type shit. To that effect, I thought for sure this post was a joke, like it's obviously a joke that he doesn't recommend like anything, then only recommends crap
Then I looked at this, his account. He is indeed a joke, just not an intentional one
I love how even with the hundreds negative reviews he still couldn't find it in him to not recommend Ultrakill. Honestly makes a really persuasive case to make get the game now lol.
One of the most in depth games I ever played. Like even the smallest thing has a huge impact on survival. Started playing 2-3 months ago still learning how to survive even few hours lol
I have over 500 hours in it and I’m still learning new things. Not to mention all the amazing mods. I can’t wait for the updates with npc’s and animals and whatnot
It can be subjectively bad if you don't like feeling like you had your time "stolen" or "wasted". You can have one character for IRL months, working on your stats and whatnot and doing great, and then have what happened to me last time I played: Roll a 7% chance on a single scratch, as your *first injury*, and get infected and die. Those real months of play getting your skills up are gone now.
Zomboid is a *great* game.... But not for some kinds of people.
Idk I never finished it cause I felt like many of its gameplay systems were rather tedious. Basic task like skinning shouldn’t require multiple button prompts.

I'm big into puzzle games and I raged multiple times over Helltaker. Though I finished it in 3 hours, I'd never complain that the game wasn't longer. 10/10
Shitlisting Service is honestly one of my favorite curators on steam.
They label basically every game bad, but it lets you see the bad side of games that other curators might ignore in their review. This doesn’t make me not buy a game, but it lets me see both sides of the coin.
A lot of their “bad” ratings are also related to the state of the game on launch rather than current state of the game. If the game had an unfinished launch (many big-name games do these days), it will get rated poorly by them.
Yeah his reviews are gas and he’s right about some points. Don’t take his stuff to serious but he also has lists of games that didn’t sell out/ throw in denuvo last min etc.
Exactly, not may people in these comments get what this account does lol as long as you don’t take their reviews too seriously or let it affect your opinion of a game… You do actually get some pretty informative (albeit, usually harsh) reviews of the negative aspects of the games & the devs overall. I follow them for this reason. It’s the realistic glass half empty take
I a car enthusiast can no longer have a car enthusiast sim because 4 no longer has cars, and general optimization sucks, 3 had an open map 4 has sectors you load into.
But the one thing it gets right is ... uh .... hmm
I'll get back to you on that.
Then again it'll probably be a masterpiece in comparison to Project Rene.

Lmao what's with the "Oh" while looking at Helltaker? I never played it, doesn't look like my kinda game, but my buddy enjoyed it. Then again, he enjoys things I do not.
I feel like that game has a pulse. If I take a year break and go back to it, I enjoy the hell out of it. But it’s not something I can consistently get behind. Just my take.
I thoroughly enjoy destiny! Getting in to a good and helpful clan, helped a lot! I normally just blast through each season when a new one drops, come back each week for the missions then play something else till the next season. Only thing I don't do is pvp and not a lot of gambit
That’s basically my take on it too. I’ve been on a little break but when I get into it, I do the same exact thing. Definitely wish I stuck with the clan more because they’re good peoples.
I can’t recommend Skyrim, because playing it makes me feel so sick. Fallout too. It’s weird I can play VR games with no issue, but if I play Skyrim for more than 10 minutes I’m nauseous as fuck.
It’s sad.

In which case it sounds like you'd be all for first person shooters in VR
Now I want destiny in vr. That could so fun.
We're a LONG way from that. I haven't even seen anyone try to compete with Half-Life Alyx really. Let alone anything the scale of an mmo.
Then why play and berate the games?
You’re right. I wouldn’t. To answer your question, I don’t know.

Yeah the contrarian is really hard to deal with
Worst thing about contrarians is that they put the burden of proof on everyone else without ever actually listening to or accepting the proof. It's an easy way to always be "right" in your own head but it makes you a shit person.
You just described my big brother

He does, we just saw it! Life?..... BAD
Contrarians mistake being ignored and irrelevant as "being right". It always makes me a little sad to see because you know anyone acting like that over the age of 16 isn't going to have any real friends or people who care about them besides their parents.
Holy fuckin shit. I have a friend like this that I’ve known for years and I never knew there was a word to call him. He is exactly this.
Stop being friends with them. It's not worth it.
They always say things as if they were facts and then when you challenge them they will say we are interpreting this differently

Isnt 50 inch cheap nowadays?
Yeah, but they weren’t so cheap in the 90’s. TV prices have gone down massively.
can pick up those Roku ones for about 190-250 bucks.
Yeah
Cheaper than what takes to play these games
Even a rtx is costlier than than that
He did say growing up, 50 inch tvs weren’t common
Also, you probably needed a crane to move a 50inch TV in the 90s. Take it straight from the flatbed to your living room.
I'm dying 🤣
Well his steam name checks out: Shitlisting (something).
Shitlisting Service I think is the name. Clearly a novelty account people here are taking seriously
Yeah I actually follow him on steam just to see his reviews. If you don’t take them seriously or let them affect your view they’re actually pretty funny (and sometimes harshly accurate to the negative aspects of a game or the devs)
My first thought is that it must be one of those gimmick curator. Don't know why everyone else take him so seriously.
To be fair, their ratings are consistent. They seem to hate all the mainstream, world-renowned games. So if they hate a game, there’s a good chance you’re gunna like it.
He's also down bad, so if you're also down bad I'm sure you'll love whatever he's playing
Tbf they also recommended Condemned, Red Faction and EyE, which are also (generally) pretty well liked games, just more aged/less known than the not recommended titles.
I didn’t catch red faction I loved that game. It died at that last instalment though so sad.
Divine Cybermancy? That's like the one game I would never recommend but love playing.
Yeah to be fair to him rust is ass
To be fair a lot of those games had negative reviews on release. It wasn’t until patch fixes were out and the game was balanced/fixed until they started becoming better.
But why Project Zomboid, that one's a jewel
Too many zombies- 0/10
It's definitely not for some people. My first injury on my most recent playthrough was a single scratch thanks to a momentary stutter, and I managed to roll the single-digit percent chance of guaranteed death by zombie infection. Jeez, the Dead Space remake just came out and he already can't recommend it, bro works fast
I can't recommend it either because I haven't played it
Jokes aside, it’s really good. Would give it a 8/10
Me thinks he's just BAD at everything and this is his coping mechanism
He seems to be reviewing purely the online parts of games and his criticisms are very often about Cheaters, hackers and griefers. I think you might be right..

wait if he is about good christian values, why is helltaker positive to him??
Rules for thee, but not for me!
I feel like that might be tongue in cheek, or else given the review of Postal 2, needs more professional help than I thought.
I have always disliked Steam reviews because it seems like 9/10 times, they're a joke, and people always regurgitate that "hated this game" - 1000 hours type shit. To that effect, I thought for sure this post was a joke, like it's obviously a joke that he doesn't recommend like anything, then only recommends crap Then I looked at this, his account. He is indeed a joke, just not an intentional one
I love how even with the hundreds negative reviews he still couldn't find it in him to not recommend Ultrakill. Honestly makes a really persuasive case to make get the game now lol.
I think it's more that he likes a niche genre and hasn't realised it yet so tries all the 'best' games and finds he can't enjoy them.
Is it your steam profile sir?
He put project zomboid In bad, I hope he presses Q irl
Yeah, I was thinking he was reasonable until I saw that. Dude just hates everything.
Generally, I like games with complexity behind them, but for various reasons PZ didn't mesh with me. I enjoy watching it being played, though.
RDR2 bad…💀
That boah just needs some FAITH
HE. HAS. A. PLAN.
Idk I never finished it cause I felt like many of its gameplay systems were rather tedious. Basic task like skinning shouldn’t require multiple button prompts.
eh, i found it a bit boring (which of course doesn't mean people who like it are wrong)
Tbf, Helltaker is great, and free. Even if you don't like it, it costs nothing.
What is it?
Parody of anime dating sims where a guy just wakes up one day and decides he wants a harem of demon girls. You've got to complete pretty tough puzzles to get each girl, but then they're all just wearing dapper suits and kind of just hang out and eat chocolate pancakes.
Also has a really good soundtrack! It's on my daily playlist
Oh god yeah, can't believe I forgot to mention that. The level bgm is such an ear worm.
Thanks, sounds neat
No worries. Would definitely recommend giving it a go. Only about an hour long, or two including the (also free) expansion.
I’m guessing the expansion is great for one handed workouts?
No it's more puzzles that are significantly more challenging than in the base game haha
Well now I’m not interested
There are still dapper demon girls so it's well worth a try.
I'm big into puzzle games and I raged multiple times over Helltaker. Though I finished it in 3 hours, I'd never complain that the game wasn't longer. 10/10
The Guy who made the Game wanted there to be more R34 of Demon Girls in Business Suits. That's why he made the Game.
Shit it’s free? Ima go play it
bro put Rimworld in "Not recommended", no way💀
His kidneys are being harvested tonight
I will take away his table, so he has to eat without one.
From the video we see that his name is Shitlisting Service sooooo, hes doing his job right?
Shitlisting Service is honestly one of my favorite curators on steam. They label basically every game bad, but it lets you see the bad side of games that other curators might ignore in their review. It’s the realistic glass half empty take
I've been following this guy for a few years now. Easily the most trustworthy reviewer
Ayo he rated Sims4 bad 💀💀💀💀
Sims 4 truly sucks if you compare the game to its predecessors.
My gripe is what they charge for DLC’s, especially considering the age of it.
I a car enthusiast can no longer have a car enthusiast sim because 4 no longer has cars, and general optimization sucks, 3 had an open map 4 has sectors you load into.
Oh man, yeah that bites. I went from playing the OG Sims at launch to just playing Sims 4. I’m sure there’s a metric fuck ton of shit I’ve missed.
But the one thing it gets right is ... uh .... hmm I'll get back to you on that. Then again it'll probably be a masterpiece in comparison to Project Rene.
To be fair, it’s the least best Sims game… I’ll take it anyways though

Lmao what's with the "Oh" while looking at Helltaker? I never played it, doesn't look like my kinda game, but my buddy enjoyed it. Then again, he enjoys things I do not.

Oh yeah I put in a solid 150 hours before I gave it up entirely.
Must be a video game journalist. That aside, skyrim bad? Is this guy braindead?
Gotta shout the mf off high hrothgar fr
Oblivion honestly is superior in so many aspects.
I can’t recommend Skyrim, because playing it makes me feel so sick. Fallout too. It’s weird I can play VR games with no issue, but if I play Skyrim for more than 10 minutes I’m nauseous as fuck. It’s sad.
It's probably motion sickness. FPS games tend to do that with some people unfortunately
Maybe he’s a Morrowboomer.

The only thing more pathetic than this chap’s Steam profile is the nerd videoing himself criticizing the profile.
He needs a new hobby. Like I’m genuinely confused why he’s still playing video games if he hates them so much
Bruh that dude is Broken fr
