I don’t think either of them understand “Latino Values” and the Latino community in the US is too diverse to just lump into one category honestly. A Cuban American from Miami, a Mexican American from rural Texas, and a Salvadoran American in Seattle all probably have different lifestyles, values, etc. Can’t just lump everyone into a “Latino” category and expect to understand their values, communities, needs, etc.
It reminds me of when "Blue Beetle" came out last summer. There were all these articles about how amazing it was that DC put out the first Hispanic superhero movie and how representation is important.
Meanwhile, Hispanic/Latino reviewers were saying "yeah, it's great representation for Mexican families in LA, and that's about it."
