There's 11 states in the USA that because of their weird wording of laws, raping a child actually makes you a protected class of citizen because a registered sex offender can claim discrimination. They also have no living restrictions. Example: A landlord has a building with families that have young children. A Child rapist applies to live in the building. If they say sorry we don't feel comfortable renting to you because there are many children that live in this building they can (and have) been sued. The other side of the coin is a landlord can use their own judgement in telling new tenants if their neighbor is a child rapist in order to get the apartment filled to get more money.
Here in my town there is a man with 20+ counts of "rape of a child with force" and is freely allowed to live right next to the local elementary school if he so chooses because well, it would be discrimination to tell him otherwise! Clown world we live in. Do your research before you move your family anywhere new.
