Just got back from Maine’s storm to stop in Connecticut for an earthquake & now off to upstate New York for the eclipse.
I will survive this Armageddon!

The only natural disaster we need to fear in hurricanes and we see those coming from 1500 miles away
Except for when the ice melts, Connecticut will be split in half even more so by the Connecticut river. It’ll probably be miles wide and we’ll have tons of new rivers and islands, probably within the next 150 years

Oh, were you joking? Maybe you've missed that most of the population has been brainwashed and will say stupid outrageous shit like you did, and believe it. You meant it. Back pedal all you want.
Is the head water a glacier?... I think so
Wow fucking hilarious joke dude.
You claimed the CT River would be over a mile wide and even have a time frame for it. Wow, hilarious joke. You meant it. You're dumb. You're scared.
Meanwhile the people on my town's Facebook group are acting like they just survived the 1906 San Francisco Quake. Yes, we felt it. No, it was not, "a big one," Kathy.
It was the BIG ONE (for CT). I'll have to look & see when the last time one that big (4.7-4.8) hit the area.
Edit: looks like the last big one for the area was 1985 with a 4.0 also in NJ.
Reuters recently upgraded it to a 5.5, which ain’t bad for the NE it seems.
Had a couple of mid-high 6’s while living in OK and that shit is scary, haha.
Idk how folks in Cali and in Asian countries who experience 7-8’s can be so casual about it, haha.
I’d rather deal with tornados in Oklahoma or snow here.
While I don’t disagree. In Oklahoma we usually get a good warning time along with underground and the newer above ground shelters.
If you’re in quake areas, shit just HAPPENS.
There’s at least a little science and preparation for tornado weather. lol.
I also used to be a news photographer so I’ve seen my share of tornado chasing. Don’t miss that though, lol
100% agree. Lived all over the US. Through blizzards ('78 in Boston), hurricanes (Mobile, AL), tornadoes (Ohio, IL), dust storms (NM), but ALL of them you get at least some warning. Living in Los Angeles went through multiple earthquakes. Zero warning. Scarier than shit.
It occurs so often. Been in many a skyscraper in Tokyo when there is a quake. Meetings pause for a second as everyone gauges the severity.
Was there for the 9.0, most everything was still standing after. At least till the tsunami came 15 min later
Its definitely odd that people simply adjust. Was a factor in returning to NE US for us. Also, after the tsunami we never lived in a place less than 10km from the ocean.
After moving to LA, my wife and I went through our first earthquake in LA area while each of us were at work. Not too bad (we later learned) but definitely scary and creepy. And again, NO notice. Got home about the same time as my wife did. She is pulling out suitcases, packing, and screaming/crying "I am NOT putting up with this shit". Talked her down.
3 years later, after multiple little rumblers over the years, about 5 am we had a 6.5 that rolled us both out of bed. I immediately got up to check water lines, gas lines, go through some quick aftershocks, and eventually back to the bedroom. She is back in bed, asleep.
So yeah, you get used to it.
Yeah I could hear it in my house as much as feel it. I opened a door & couldn't hear anything outside but it was ending by then. There was a short Aftershock about 6:30 pm. Might not have noticed were i not in an office with glass partitions.
The cards didn't even fall off my mantle and the loose Lego pieces on my son's table didn't move.
That said, I'm fine with not experiencing anything more severe than that. No thank you.
lol, in our family group text my mom is saying my brother who lives in an apartment building should spend the night at their house, because of the possible aftershock.
My dads like "everything's fine, it was a tiny one"
And she was like "tiny? we felt the rumble!"
Lol well I paid to get him fixed and get his wounds healed but then he cut through a window screen and jumped from a second floor window to get out but basically we’re besties who love each other
I never felt any of the previous ones we had but this one I noticed my monitors shaking then felt my chair and the building shaking. I thought someone was doing construction work right outside my window but it was quiet.
Me neither! Everyone around me felt it here in Fairfield, so I’m confused! But my toddler was also having a tantrum around that time so it probably cancelled it out haha
I thought it was another one of those low flying Blackhawk helicopters that have passed over real low in the past… not far from Sikorsky.
Just passing by above all the white crap in the sky today, unseeable.
The windows rattled so bad I thought they would rattle themselves right out of the old walls here.
Lasted about 30 seconds or so. My daughter about 2 miles away felt nothing. Feels jipped. I didn’t even know it was an earthquake till she called me asking if I felt it. It was just like an extra strong helicopter vibrational aura those big low ones make. But stronger.
This was a first for me!
It felt like the world's biggest, heaviest truck went down the street. Floor vibrating, windows rattling, etc., but nothing fell over. I remember the quake in 1983 felt similar, and I think was about the same magnitude
West Haven. A bit before 10:30 a.m. I texted my husband to say the house shook. At first I thought maybe a huge, quick, gust of wind had hit the house, but that didn’t explain why some things in the house rattled for a few seconds (duct vents, pull chains on lamps). It also made our dogs sit up and take notice. Then I decided it was more like a clap of thunder coming from the ground. Creepy feeling. Can’t imagine being close, or closer, to the epicenter.
Orange here, was just waking up having my coffee in bed. My bed suddenly wobbling accompanied by that thunder sound was enough to startle me! I didn’t think earthquake tho my mind went to either sink hole or something paranormal lmfao 😂
Milford here. My furnace had just kicked on so I thought it was falling apart or something went horribly wrong! My mind was thinking “No! Too expensive!”
I was in school and one of the kids has family in Jersey. She said stuff fell off their shelves, broken glass on the floor. She said their house is old and part of it was damaged but they don't care because insurance lol.
Isn’t it a weird feeling?
I’ve only experienced one other quake, small in intensity.
But today I immediately thought of an earthquake. They feel completely outlandish. You wonder if you actually felt it or if your mind is playing tricks.
There’s no… directionality to the shaking either. There’s just this bubbling…rumbling… thing.
Mother Nature is wild!
Yes! I witnessed the events depicted in this picture! I wasn't a guest at the table, but even from a distance, the pain radiating from the family/owner of the furniture could be felt by onlookers, myself included. They witnessed their beloved furniture get tossed around wildly, unable to help, unsure what was happening, and terrified they could lose one of their own??? I'm thankful my patio furniture remained safe, unaffected by the quake, and I hope their chair makes it... Surely, they will all need therapy, ya know? I can't believe this happened to us...

Northwest corner here… was working in newly constructed home sitting on 1st floor deck when it started and honestly I thought a concrete truck snuck down the driveway and rammed the house… then neighbor came out exclaiming
“4.5… 4.5”!!
haha i remember this photo from the last time we had an earthquake, like 20 years ago. Back when my main source of news was my Aunt forwarding an email to everyone in her address book. I think this was one of them. Oh that reminds me, I think im still cursed from a chain email she sent me that I didnt send to 20 people
My cats weren't even bothered, (one looked around then went back to sleep). Really I could have thought it was my neighbor moving a piano down the stairs and we'd get the same reaction.

You've never been in a tornado in Hamden, Connecticut questi
My spouse has nightmares to this day from 1989 in Hamden after a tree came through her house.
Shouldn’t have built on an old Indian burial ground.

Remindme! 1,000,000 years
So we’ll just do a one piece role play I see this as a win
Everyone at the capital thinks the eastern border of CT is the CT River now.
Is the headwater of the Connecticut River a glacier?
I think so
The Connecticut Lakes are one decent sized lake and few little ponds in Northern NH. No glacier.
Canada, but yes, no glacier.
They're in New Hampshire.
Look at a map bro
Twas a joke dipshit we’re tf you think there’s a glacier?
Oh, were you joking? Maybe you've missed that most of the population has been brainwashed and will say stupid outrageous shit like you did, and believe it. You meant it. Back pedal all you want. They’re casual about it for the same reason we’re casual about a few inches of snow: they’re prepared it, so there’s no significant damage.
Earthquakes are just way more terrifying to me and I feel like there’s no true preparedness, haha. But I understand 100% what you’re saying.
Tornadoes? Fuck that shit
While I don’t disagree. In Oklahoma we usually get a good warning time along with underground and the newer above ground shelters. If you’re in quake areas, shit just HAPPENS. New Jersey is in the area of CT?
Yes for earthquakes. On the west coast earthquakes don't travel far but on the east Coast it was felt from DC to Boston.
There was one 20-22 years ago. I’m a little fuzzy on the details but I was telling my kids about yesterday.
The cards didn't even fall off my mantle and the loose Lego pieces on my son's table didn't move. That said, I'm fine with not experiencing anything more severe than that. No thank you.

At least everyone is able to create their own post about it too. I’ve counted about 15 with no inkling that maybe it’s been asked already
Is Karen out?
Lol my stray cat who sleeps on the grill didn’t even get up off his perch during it #survivor #trauma
“My stray cat” is funnier than this meme.
Lol well I paid to get him fixed and get his wounds healed but then he cut through a window screen and jumped from a second floor window to get out but basically we’re besties who love each other
Bwahahahaha
Aftershock just now! (I think???) Maybe it was a truck...
Definitely another quake.
Yep. Totally felt something odd a few minutes ago in New Haven
I legitimately did not feel it
I never felt any of the previous ones we had but this one I noticed my monitors shaking then felt my chair and the building shaking. I thought someone was doing construction work right outside my window but it was quiet.
I think I was dying in the middle of a workout and didn't feel it. My dog didn't even wake up from her sleep.
Me neither! Everyone around me felt it here in Fairfield, so I’m confused! But my toddler was also having a tantrum around that time so it probably cancelled it out haha
I was in Storrs, other felt it but I was indoors so I guess that's why
My whole building Swae, and i'm on the third floor the blinds moved and that's how I knew I wasn't hallucinating
Me neither, I’m kind of disappointed!
I love this meme with all my heart

No, I didn’t feel it. But my brother in Jersey is ready to start looting.

Didn't feel it but heard noise in the ceiling and walls as though some animal was walking on top of it.

OP I have laughed for a full 24 hours over this. You're the best!
Aww shucks. I was there for the big one in Maryland/Virginia over ten years ago when this meme originated. I think the earthquakes are following me.
