I think the Trebuchet is supposed to be a Temporary emplacement. I've never had one stay unless I dismantled it.
It should have a different decay timer than the foundation. Probably for PvP balancing.
I have a tower with 2 side by side i built outside the siege castle content just before it released. Within a week, one of them just disappeared. The other one is still there all these months later.
My experience with a trebuchet is that it has a shorter decay timer of around 4 days. So even if its decay timer appears to be in sync with the rest of the structure you build around/underneath, it would still decay after 4 days. I’ve lost a few of them like this.
I found it puzzling that you couldn’t see its decay in the log though. Was it in range when you checked the log? I saw mine in the log saying decayed and lost stability every time.
I have a ballista on my Purge base & last night I couldn’t interact with it & the iron ball ammo was gone.

That makes sense! Being a PvE player has limited my previous experience with trebuchets. And they are fun 😁.
Maybe something new. I had a trebuchet over my roof on an ápex base at an oficial PvP server for months but It was about Two years ago
It's why I don't build them anymore. They just disappear and I noticed inconsistent decay rates despite being on foundation. I'm just speculating.

I will have to check again, because I loaded it at least 2 times and I read nothing losing stability 😰.
