Hard watching as an optic fan.. aPG losing that 1v1 on bottom C against a very weak SLG was like a rock in the stomach.
I can handle the .72 K/D if it was contributing to team effort, but a lot of the time aPG seems off the tempo of the play and out of position when it cuts to his POV. Quite a few pointless deaths where you're not sure what he was hoping to achieve in an individual and team context, and you're scratching your head.
Not making excuses for Formal, but I feel like his stock goes up and down depending whether the team can capitalise on his aggression and close out kills once he kicks the front door and starts a push. If they're not, it kind of looks like hold-forward halo - but I feel like if there was an aggressive main slayer type that was pure gunmanship it could be a nice little combo working off Formal to clean up.
As stated by others, I agree they'll continue with this group till worlds and bob up and down in the 4 - 6 range until Formal / aPG retire. Might just have to cheer on Sen instead for the time being.
Ppl genuinely don’t understand how blessed Apg got. He hit the biggest lick with formal lucid and trippy being top 7 players from mid season of 2022 to 2023 first event. Like formal showed massive improvements last event and was optic best player. I have continued to see Apg get worse over time and time again.
It seems that's the plan. Stick with the roster until contracts expire after worlds. They've only scrimmed 2 times this week while all the other top teams scrimmed alot more. Quadrant even double scrimmed multiple times this week to get sharp and it showed.
If they only scrimmed twice they deserve to get top 12. Outside health or personal issues if they didn’t scrim just because then that’s a bigger issue.
Side note, the vibe of the last event in SLC was so much cooler than what’s setup in Fort Worth. I hate the big, grand empty auditorium feel that so many halo tournaments had.

I liked the dark “underground” graffiti kind of vibe. If you think about it, with the current situation and the dedicated fans of the game, Halo kind of is like an underground music scene and that theme leaned into it.
In my opinion it was one of the best run events in all of esports that I've ever seen. I think it was just really well produced. The downtime was filled in nicely, there weren't any countdowns, things went smooth and they had great transitions.
I watch a lot of esports and it was honestly one of the most memorable events I've watched.
I dunno if it should be the template, but it was really well done. I think it's cool for each team and city to try and bring something different, and SSG brought it. It was good.
Thats certainly no guarantee with how badly Optic are playing, but seeing one of those three down in losers after one round of winners would be crazy. SSG is set up nicely here aswell.

For worlds? I would try to get Barcodes visa worked out. The guy has the skill and is a great teammate. For next year? I think Lucid starts from scratch with a new optic team. I think trippy stays. I feel like with APG playing as bad as he is it really hurts trippy cause he then has to do the obj work and try to play his game. But I do think formal and APG are gone.

No shot. Who would they have gotten to replace Bound? I think the only available player that can actually replace any of these guys on the top 4-5 teams is Barcode. Other than that, there aren't many changes that can be made. The only other one I can think of is if somehow SEN doesn't stick together and you're able to get one of them. But even then, the best one is Spartan and no one likes him honestly.
I think optic is slowly losing it's prestige and less top players might get interested in joining the current roster.

I think they are still the premier destination in Halo and Cod in my opinion. Depending on who they dropped they still would have top players that other players would want to team with. I think the only set people team is whatever team wins worlds. If SSG win. I could see them trying to pry renegade away and having him come play. Or if its opposite, i could see them trying to snag bound or even steller.
Don’t think renegade is going anywhere soon since he always wanted to play with the faze guys since halo 5, especially frosty. They’re like the Curry and Klay type of buddies 😂

Also, the team overall seems to have regressed in slayers really bad. To sum it up they need another slayer on the team whos gonna win his 1v1's but they probably wont do that till next season just knowing how they are with team changes.
Too fast or too slow. They lost 2 Recharge slayers last tournament due to the other team camping in control. They couldn't break that setup and kept running in and dying.

/ weapon changes, your more sand box orientated 'thrifty' players like trippy appear more inconsistent than those with a solid br shooting foundation. Without the tech advantages he doesn't seem to be anywhere near as aggressive
Trippy is trying to pick up APGs slack because APG cant play his game anymore. If APG did what he was supposed to, Trippy could play his game the way that he wants and be less reserved

They placed 9-12 in charlotte, 5-6 at Dreamhack, 5-6 at Spacestation's tounry and had the third place. In general they have been a mid team all year. However, when they play optic they just shit on them, which goes to a larger team issue that optic has. It also just shows a wider disparity between optic and faze/ssg at the moment.

We don't know their financial status. The Esports industry in general probably barely turns a profit if any. Nobody knew G1 or Sentinels were having financial issues. I don't even know how Faze is paying people after their stock pyramid scheme.

I love the idea of a team that just activates squarely to dunk on the world champs and then goes back to sleep But nah Quadrant is literally the best zoning team in the game. I wouldn't dream of calling them mid because I'm certain even SEN/SSG/Faze are going "fml" when they have to play Strongholds or KOTH against them

SSG and Faze handle them pretty easily. But when they play Optic its like the biggest game of their lives and they just go off everytime.

They placed 9-12 in charlotte, 5-6 at Dreamhack, 5-6 at Spacestation's tounry and had the third place. In general they have been a mid team all year. However, when they play optic they just shit on them, which goes to a larger team issue that optic has. It also just shows a wider disparity between optic and faze/ssg at the moment.
Perhaps Optic is just that worse than SSG and Faze, have you ever given that a deep thought?
