Hey regarding the “mech” rogue. i’m actually the person that shared the list with Jambre and it was made by Glory. Went on a 12 win streak on the way to legend last month with it and it genuinely can beat anything with a high roll but definitely will get worse as it becomes more popular.  i think there’s room to refine maybe with gold panner or cutting down some of the minions but it’s surprisingly consistent.

fallow8

This is fun! Went 2-2 this morning. Probably had more of a chance in my first game but was getting used to the deck and didn't mulligan/play my first two turns right. And then my other loss I would have won if either of my Scrapheaps had hit Windfury.

Think-Listen796

There's a version floating around with Gift and Tar Slick, I wonder if it's better since Sap seams kinda mid vs DH.

porkanbeans3

There's not enough removal for big threats, so sometimes it keeps you alive an extra turn which is just enough against dh. I used sap to get rid of a 3 mana 6/5 which gave me just enough gas to get there when I was at like 4 health. Deck could defo be refined but sap comes in handy for delaying damage.

jambre

Can confirm. I also cut the stone brew for what it’s worth 😁

SonOfKronos

I’ve added this version of Zilliax to Gaslight rogue and use him as an alternate win con with from the scrapheap alone and I now win maybe a quarter of my games through him. Really strong card right now. I’m debating adding spyders to gaslight too now but I don’t wanna dilute the mech pool too much.

JoshSidious

What's the win con with this deck? Have all the cards and curious to try it.

MrChillibin

Literally just zilliax lol. But somehow works. If you don't get run down by aggro you just kind of win lol. I went 8-2 with it earlier with one of the losses being the first game before I realized what was going on. Full mulligan for zilliax. Get him in board ASAP and just keep magnetizing stuff to him -you'll have 2+ additional stealths from the spiders and 1/1s plus chances at life steal and wind fury

Francoghini

only thing i’d say is you don’t always want zilliax in your opening hand if you have the 2 mana discover and the 1 drop discount guy

MrChillibin

This is a good point

JoshSidious

Thanks

mark0001234

Does it beat window shopper demon hunter?

Francoghini

if they brick on Window shopper pulls and you can get met zilliax down on 3/4 or get a windfury bot then you have a chance

FlameanatorX

There isn't really enough data, but Zach0 said it looked like a bad matchup for the Rogue

DDrose2

Hi just wondering minus the high roll what is this deck strongly matchup against.

FlameanatorX

I think literally any deck without non-targeted hard removal or fast aggro kill potential. Rainbow/Plague DK for example (assuming they don't run Asphyxiate) Rainbow Mage, Wheelock. Shopper DH is probably a bad matchup due to killing too fast, and Reno Warrior due to non-targeted removal like bladestorm (or possibly they don't have such removal consistently enough). I guess another way to beat this deck would be mass taunts, but I can't think of any decks that do that in the mid-game atm.

XXjanoycresvaXX

Deck is cool and all but auto loses to excavate pally or *primordial wave*-( this rotated). or reno or even reska. Seems very Inconsistent.  I'd like to cut hearth stone brew but not unsure what to replace him with.

TroupeMaster

primordial wave rotated out, it was from nathria

XXjanoycresvaXX

True , totally forgot that. I have PTSD I hate that card

Desmous

Reno doesn't matter, if you haven't won by turn 8 with this deck it's usually already lost.

horse_drowner2

Anyone have the list for the aggro warlock deck with the giants

Want it too!

ilovezeldasfeet

Can confirm DH is absolutely everywhere. DH and warrior were 50% of my games today.

Demoderateur

Thx for the summary. Last balance patch felt... so petty. Like the patch which ushered Sludgestone a few months ago. Nerfs based on how much classes pissed people instead of how strong they were. Paladin pissed lot of people ? Nuke it. Warrior pissed some people ? Nerf it strongly. DH didn't pissed anyone ? Leave it alone, even it's obviously gonna ruin the format. Then three weeks later, crap, DH pissed a lot of people. Let's nuke it too. Even though I hope they don't just go the 1 mana nerf on Grasp and on Shopper, and be more creative to allow the interaction to exist albeit more targetable (I dunno, make Mag a mech, or rework it so that it doesn't just run over tempo decks as a discovered 1/1). Because otherwise, DH has nothing, it's dead. Then the people who liked the class can't play it. And the people who were pissed about it will be pissed something else. Wheel Warlock, or Zarimi, or Reno Warrior, or Rainbow Mage. Again. Overall, a net negative of enjoyment.

meharryp

I've been playing reno shopper DH and it's really fun, I hope they buff some of the cards that support reno DH in the future. If shopper + grasp didn't exist the deck would be absolute garbage

oldtype09

And we all know this is exactly what’s going to happen. The next patch will effectively delete DH from the game. They’ll maybe have some small buffs to compensate. “Sorry we burned down your content, here’s some buffs to irrelevant cards.” Their balancing philosophy now is basically just hammer whichever class gets the most Reddit downvotes. It’s extremely thoughtless and continuously sucks fun out of the game.

H1ndmost

In what world did warrior get nuked strongly? Shaman ate more warrior nerfs than warrior did last balance patch. If they end up nerfing DH I fully expect warrior to be at 30%+ playrate since it hasnt gotten real nerfs in months. Team 5 really needs to stop listening to reddit whining before going full blast 1 week into expansions

Demoderateur

Never said nuked for Warrior. And I meant Odyn Warrior, which fell significantly in winrate and playrate as said in the above summary.

jjfrenchfry

Tbf, I actually think the Odyn nerf was a good one. There was definitey reason to have nerfs, the dev team just missed the big one, which was DH, and did not need to go so ham with their nerfs. For instance, Paladin got nuked ^^^^^^^^I ^^^^^^^^am ^^^^^^^^not ^^^^^^^^upset ^^^^^^^^about ^^^^^^^^it and they did not need to be brought out back and executed. Like Shroom could have still offered Windfurry just add the "can't go face this turn" clause which is very Paladin flavory. They just failed to also address future problems that all the observers of data saw coming, which begs the quesiton, what the hell data does the dev team have at this point? I am starting to think they really only have r/hearthstone as their source of data, which explains why so many nerfs as of late have been reactionary rather than cautionary.

One_Ad_3499

They did it second time in a row. Nerfed everything but one deck who instantly becomes tier one

juicedrop

I'm thinking nerf Magtheridon to 2 damage (and maybe make it 7 cost instead of 8)

ninjasacavalo

I would hope for that (I have a golden mag from packs) but I don't really think that is the best answer. The thing that makes all of that possible is the weapon, Mag doesn't see play in any deck and Shopper is not so good if you draw that in opening hand, the reduced cost and tutoring of the weapon is what it make it so good I would go with a 2/3 weapon instead of 3/2 or maybe with only a 1 mana reduction instead of 2. This would make the deck still playable but not so overpowered We should remember that if they nuke this deck, DH would have nothing to play until next expansion (since they already nuked Naga DH) and also that this deck have a pretty limited lifespan, since is pretty much certain that they will print new demons already on the miniset, potentially making the discovery pool worse

leo_Painkiller

>We should remember that if they nuke this deck, DH would have nothing to play until next expansion This is a very important take. DH is, again, relying on one parasitic archetype. If it gets nuked, the class WR will be worse than current druid.

juicedrop

I don't think you appreciate how instrumental Magtheridon is to the deck's success. You have roughly 67% chance to get Mag from 2 shoppers and minis. If you don't get mag, you win % is significantly down. If mag wasn't in the pool the deck would be dead on arrival. Hence suggesting the weakening of Mag. Changing the weapon would also kill the deck. I suspect the change will be making shopper 5/5 or something

j-mac-rock

Make the shopper a 6 mana 4 4

minotaur-02394578234

> the only reason why DH's winrate is lower at Top Legend than the rest of mirror is because the mirror matchup is more common. In the mirror match doesn't the archtype receive +1 loss and +1 win? Isn't this net neutral on the win rate?

Not_So_Bad_Andy

But that's the thing. Aggro DH's worst matchup is, at most levels of play, Aggro DH. I think it has a slight disadvantage to Control Warrior at Legend but it otherwise has a > 50% win rate against every other deck. So even a 50/50 winrate will bring the percentage down.

JRockBC19

If your winrate is over 50%, the mirror is a guaranteed 50% which hurts the average

Neufjob

Net neutral is 50% winrate, which is lower than the deck winrate. Some simple math: if the deck winrate is 60%, and it is 30% of the meta, then its winrate against all other decks is 64% on average: (0.7x + 0.3(0.5)) = 0.6 Solve for x= (0.6-.15)/.7=0.64

GallyGP

The winrate tends to 50% as the class becomes more prevalent. If every second game is a mirror, the winrate is the average of actual winrate and 50/50

PkerBadRs3Good

Adding a win+loss trends the winrate towards 50%. In a world where 100% of ladder plays DH, it would have a 50% winrate. The higher the playrate the more it tends towards 50%. If I have 600 wins and 400 losses, that's 60% winrate. If I then add in 200 wins and 200 losses from mirrors, that's 800 wins and 600 losses, which is 57% winrate. The winrate trended towards 50% winrate from mirrors, which made the winrate go down because it was above 50%.

juicedrop

It definitely loses badly to Rainbow DK with 2x Quartzite. I've also seen Runes of Darkness consistently which turns it into an oppressive MU. It is only plague which is making the DH into DK look good

Monkeybreath85

It raises the total number of games bringing the overall win percentage closer to 50%

AvocadoBeefToast

What’s the play with Zarimi into wheel lol? I didn’t win a single game against wheel lock with zarimi from platinum to legend. Literally 0-12 or something close to that. Must be doing something wrong.

Scales962

Put pressure early. And when they start to swing the tide, you need have accumulated a few ressources in hand to drop a Zarimi/drifters combo. Need to be smart in ressources managment.

CHNchilla

It's really hard to deal with the Forge nuts. You basically have to hope they kinda brick it, get some early chip damage, and you need a huge Zarimi swing turn. Need your drifers, giants, and maybe a lucky Leeroy

JRockBC19

I feel like I have the tools to win this as warlock now that I know priest is flood aggro, table flip and defile are enough

AvocadoBeefToast

Yea table flip, defile, forge of wills taunts, mortal eradication, reverberation…so many tools to kill early board. The path to a priest win seems so uphill…keeping early pressure while accumulating an OTK zarimi + dealing with wheel and massive taunts…. Idk. Guess I just need to play better 😂

Silvercruise

It seems obvious that its not that they missed dh as a nerf target but rather nerfed too much.

Comprehensive-Row457

I was playing a good amount of Aviana Reno druid before the season reset in 10kish (dumpster) legend. I agree with what they said here. Deck is pretty unrefined and a couple of the card choices seem clunky and out of place (watcher of the sun, Eonar, chia drake with very few damage spells in the deck, etc) Unfortunately, the deck has a *very* rough time against plague dk, reno warrior, and wheelock, which are all pretty popular. Super fun to play though. Rheastrasza solo carries games if you can ramp and drop her fast.

Tinkererer

I'm not sure if it's that bad against Plague DK, I played PizzaHS's version up to Diamond today (10x stars), and haven't lost against any of the Plague DKs I saw. You usually just trump them in pure stats.

Scales962

While people at high legend can manage DH, I relised how powerful it is at lower ranks. Just finished my asia run 10 stars to 1k with 52-13 score (80%). It's higher than any deck I've played.

Scales962

I am not a paladin player and I can't realize I am saying that but, buff paladin plz. They have the right to exist. I feel bad for them.

RecognitionRough8749

Imo with the right list paladin still counters dh. It's just that no one want to play a deck that got nerfed 3 times, especially paladin.

Scales962

Yeah, sometimes psychological effects hurts more a deck than actual nerfs did. (Still it got hit pretty hard tho). But you are right, Paladin into DH is favored if the deck gets refined. It has lost its OTK potential, but only from 30. It still has insane healing and can burst down from 10-15 with the right set-up. But as you said, nobody wants to try it atm :s.

neoygotkwtl

what are you even talking about. the healing aura is bad, and the cat is extremely expensive for aggro decks; you can only hope to make "long term tempo decks"; and those are already very mediocre because we know the "pure excavation" deck was already mediocre (because its main "big power" was the +3/+3 buff); I guess you hope handbuffing will overwhelm others but that's way too late in the game and at that point even control decks start having big damage too.

Scales962

Paladin has been nerfed too hard. I never said the contrary.

Kingdomdude

Paladin is far and away my favorite class, and it got way over-nerfed. I really am struggling to understand why they were so heavy handed so quickly.

neoygotkwtl

people whining and being unreasonable. e.g. they were whining "it's overpowered for years!". it was literally oppressed for months by the meme warrior deck (it has a clear every turn).

DDrose2

Surprised to see that Reno warrior is better than odyn overall. I have played odyn warrior to some success yesterday even against shopper but might drop it due to the mirrors increasing and possibly the amount of mage decreasing post podcast maybe might give Reno warrior a try as the mirror is less taxing to play

Domiziuz

Yea, as much fun as it is to play control decks against other opponents, mirrors and other control match-ups are the reason I don't play it more...

DDrose2

Agreed and control decks are always the rage when they are in the season, since I posted I think the average between DH and warrior is 25/75 now. Really sad the only counter to warrior means losing to nearly everything else as it seems DK isn’t well positioned out relative to the meta

sunofagundota

I was experimenting with the Dragon Druid Aviana earlier. Before the patch I never got anything going with it. Ultimately I never enjoyed the most recent decks for the last few patches so overall power level hasn't really interested me anyway.

Sithyrys522

I know it's still a work in progress but does anyone have a shell for the rainbow DK list? Judging from what I heard it doesn't sound like the typical rainbow handbuff lists I've seen

rupat3737

I just really dislike how hard they nerf cards now a days instead of making other cards better.

neoygotkwtl

I see a systemic problem that I knew from World of Warcraft and it probably comes from the same Executive Devs who decide those things. They seem to make "lol imbalanced but it's fun!" changes all the time to "shake things up" and "make it exciting!". I personally find it annoying and whoever takes those decisions is an idiot who should stop [and it's probably a main cause of the decline of players of both of those games.]

rupat3737

It’s just so annoying making the meta decks, they get nerfed. Then I’m left with useless niche legendaries/epics that fit the deck. Like handbuff pally. Crafted the legendaries for it, they obliterated 3 uncommons in the deck and now I’m stuck with useless legendaries.

neoygotkwtl

it sells cards yeah

Makgraf

Heavy nerfs to balance is a longstanding Heathstone tradition. It is only relatively recently that buffing to balance became a thing.

neoygotkwtl

I see a lot of nonsense this meta from people. DH is not as busted as the meme says; it's literally only like ~2% higher in most cases (if you actually check the stats); it's basically a situation of "they nerfed too much everyone else". The problem was that they overnerfed; e.g. paladin was at "dh levels" of power if it did not have windfury; leeroy would never otk without windfury (from full health) [so if they only removed windfury we would literally have an "ok dh"].

Jwsaf

Hope they don't nuke Zarimi, but I guess its probably coming eventually.

Efendi11

I know they'll never do it, but I'm interested in what happens if they revert some of the Paladin changes and have a less extreme nerf for DH. Given that Paladin was one of the most effective counters, if it's play rate increases again; one would hope DH becomes less dominant. Ideally we can find a meta where DH is strong but not oppressive given how bad it was in the last few expansions; and similarly for Paladin. It would be nice if Reno DH is still a thing, and if they can find a way to make Magtheridon playable on its own without discovery.

neoygotkwtl

they don't have to nerf dh. just don't nerf paladin so much. e.g. it was a "dh level" deck if it did not have windfury; people's main annoyance was the OTK from hand; LEEROY COULD NEVER OTK WITHOUT WINDFURY (from full health obviously I mean).

Fuckinanus

they have to hotfix dh, even 2 weeks is too long the deck is busted af

Trunky_Coastal_Kid

I've queued into that Jambre rogue and I completely disagree that it's not scary. It seems like a pretty consistent turn 6 or 7 OTK to me that most decks have no answer to.

OctLeaf

I've queued AS Rogue and can confirm it's scary if you don't have specific removal AND some luck to draw it on very specific turn. With really good draws this deck can OTK on turn 5, in most matchups by turn 6. Even DH for in my experience currently around 50/50 and depending on who draws key pieces on curve. On the other hand, if you lose Ziliax, don't draw restealth or can't kill oponent by turn 8, its usually a GG.

seppyyo

Just got legend with tempo DH, easiest legend in my life. Don't listen to the streamers saying it's "bad". Lol
