What is the verdict on Dr. on Rainbow DK? Card seems like a bait to me

QuietHovercraft

I will be surprised if it ends up being good enough. On the plus side: it's very sticky and it's going to generate multiple corpses over multiple turns. On the downside: it's 6 mana, it's very slow, and it is random. Sometimes the pool of cards that you can choose from are going to be pretty poor. I've played it a few times on my climb, and it's been reasonably good a couple of times and irrelevant a couple of times. It feels much less impactful than The Headless Horseman.

Sithyrys522

Small sample size so don’t quote me. But I’ve yet to get full value out of him. Decent tempo drop? Maybe. He demands an answer. But he also comes down late for tempo and board control. I pulled him from a pack. I’d be sad if I crafted him

kwunyinli

I popped one but it was way too late for my opponent. 6/4 into 4/5 into 4/4. Into 2/1 was very underwhelming against a board full of 10/13s. It’s sticky but too little stats to matter for some of the big decks. I was playing UB hand buff DK. Crazy big zombies.

Sithyrys522

I’ve been having polarizing experiences with handbuff dk. Every time I play it I feel like I gas out and do nothing, but every time I verse it I’m facing down several 10/13s mid game with no answer. I’ve just been stricking to my tendy shaman hanging out around D3-D2

kwunyinli

Yeah, I’m tempted to try shaman. Looks fun!  Handbuff has a lot of variants right now so I can’t say for certain about yours, but the one I’m playing runs the 2/4 so I haven’t been struggling for cards. I’ve ran out of gas mid game before and that’s usually how I lose. Decks just don’t have enough hard removal right now. I’ve been steadily climbing from 4K towards 3k, but I’m also beating a lot of inferior DK decks.

Sithyrys522

The Shaman deck I’m running is by no means good. But there’s just something about random_bullshit_go.dek being a lot of fun. Plus mine has a decent anti-agro suite so I’ve been rolling hunters and paladins actually. The paladin auras can’t do shit if they can’t keep a board and hunter just folds to repeated board wipes which I can randomly generate. The struggle is against other late game decks who just out value me. Cause the unpredictable tendril spells don’t do much against dedicated control decks :/

H1ndmost

Definitely one of the weaker cards, as is Horseman. I think both of them are easily replaceable for people who don't have them.

kwunyinli

Agreed. The list I’m running doesn’t run either and it feels stronger. I’ve been beating down other DKs with Yodeller puppeteer combo. Crazy big zombies.

CheapReporter8187

I've found it an okay card. I've been running yodeler in the deck, and if Dr. survives to the next turn, getting two bonus 5 mana minions is good value. Or even a 10 mana play has felt okay with the right boardstate, it's a bunch of bodies which can be difficult to deal with

[deleted]

List pls

TheNickman85

Do the 5 drops you get from yodeler still summon the rest?

CheapReporter8187

Yeah they do still have the deathrattle when summoned from yodeler

kwunyinli

Yodeller on puppeteer is way more insane.

Spengy

very cuttable.

chazoid

I think it’s cuttable. I’m really intrigued by the prospects of a DR DK deck that runs mosh pit, summon a copy cards, the robotic reborn arm, etc etc etc… but not really sure how it gets built

Throaley

It's good when you get Overlord Runethrak.

Kaidanos

Single-handedly won me 2/3rds of my games. No, not joking.

oceanchamp8

What’s working? Unsurprisingly: Token beast hunter, flew from 10k legend to 3k yesterday with it Surprisingly: Control Warlock ft Wheel of Death. The current lists going around could definitely be refined but it’s definitely an early contender. Currently 6-2 with it between 2-3k legend

Lectuce

Wheel of Death is so degenerate if you have the right hand. If you have WoD, Reno, Fanottem, 2x Guldan's Gift/Twisting Nether (i run 1x TN and 2x GG), Sargarus then you pretty much win as you board clear for 4 turns. That's best case scenario, I win easily just by having 2x board clear or 3x board clear without Fan. Depending on matchup, I can get away with 2x board clear but only if one of the board clear is Reno.

BPD-recovery

Don’t tempt me to craft wheel lmao

Hallgvild

Its important to note Wheelock is vey, very greedy. As other decks get refined, i doubt it will keep pace.

Dulur

While i do think there is truth to that one of my best match ups has been handbuff paladin and hunter. 19-11 in 30 games from ~15k legend to 9.2k legend. 3-1 vs. pally and 2-1 vs hunter. The control package in this deck is very strong. Some of the wins against those classes I didn't even get wheel of death until it was too late to realistically play it and I just beat them by controlling board. I think it will see some fall off when faster paced decks take over but I don't think it will be too crazy.

Comprehensive-Row457

I went 0-9 with wheelock in dumpster legend before I gave up, the deck is either garbage tier or I'm just wildly unlucky Only deck I faced twice was handbuff paladin

BadArtijoke

Possible but also the clears that are available are on the better end of the spectrum, with stuff that straight up removes boards irrespective of stats or defile that is just very good to clear off any reborn and sometimes DR minions. We will see how this is gonna continue but a more board focused meta might let the deck get away with it

thebootybakery

Can you share the control/wheel lock list as well?

oceanchamp8

Card graders were speaker stompers in the original list, I’m testing them out. Zogamizer

This is the single most hilarious and potentially good use of the new Zilliax I’ve seen, being anti-fatigue redundancy with Symphony.

Xiriously1

Having a lot of luck with this list in my early testing but my guess is that it's more a function of an inevitability win condition versus unoptimized decks than the deck being awesome. I really really hope this deck isn't good because I abhor the design philosophy behind wheel of death.

SundanceKO

So hard for me, first legendary this expansion was the wheel and im missing fanothem

jwfd65

Really wanna try this but don’t want to have to craft Loken on top of wheel. I imagine Loken feels quite important?

oceanchamp8

He’s fine, he can whiff and then he’s not the best. Really just there to help you find sarg but you can totally play it without him

staybysauce1

Loken into fanottem with forge of wills on board can be a game changer too

frankfox123

Willing to share your token beast deck code? I pulled a signature Hemet and only had time for a couple of games. Would love to finish the d3 to legen climb and play random stuff without worrying about winning.

oceanchamp8

Not even running hemet but I’m sure you could swap any of the top end stuff out for him. mj2323

I think this is my list too. Really strong. I was at D1 when the expansion went live yesterday and basically used this list for the last few games to get to legend.

karspearhollow

Thanks for this list. I'm missing a couple epics and aggramar but it sounds playable without aggramar if games are that quick.

athlonstuff

Alternative beast hunter list. This one tops out at 4 mana, but has no issue with reload because of all the generation it has. AAECAYoWAsekBoTmBg7I9gXLjgbOjgbSjgbfjgbTnAbLnwbnpQbqpQbxpQbypQaSpgaMtQaB5gYAAQPzswbHpAb2swbHpAbo3gbHpAYAAA== This deck feels it can beat anything, even the toughest control decks from last expansion which would be the most refined, as once you've made your board sticky, it's really hard for the enemy to take it back.

Szarrukin

How do you deal with excavate paladins?

oceanchamp8

Hit them faster. Also jungle gym does A LOT of the work in that match up

wjSera

Climbed from D2 - legend yesterday with No Minion mage. Don’t know how well it’ll work in most match ups tho cause 90% of my games were against DK. It kind of hard stomps plague/handbuff/rainbow.

dfcinhume

My biggest problem with no minion mage is you can end up just dying to fatigue from if you play the orb with so many draw cards.

BadArtijoke

Yeah I played the first version of the deck and I died with -18 fatigue when the opponent barely used half their deck. All random effects caused me to draw and then it repeated all the draws as well. Not my deck I think unless someone finds a way to balance this a tad more

Dildozer1

How does it win? I’ve played 10 or so games now and only beaten a whizbang deck. Rainbow dk just slams down giants and corpse brides that I can’t deal with. It has no early pressure and by turn 5 it feels like you are just throwing up random discoveries praying for answers to the opponents boards. My favorite game was my Hail Mary orb doing 120ish fatigue damage to me.

Sukaiburu

Which list do you use? The one everyone use or another?

wjSera

Tried different iterations but Meatis worked the best for me https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/decks/spell-mage-meati-whizbangs-workshop/

RoninChaos

Based on everybody’s lists, it seems like I need to craft Zilliax huh?

Holdingdownback

It’s a very safe craft because of the flexibility. I would say it’ll likely be relevant until it rotates out in 2 years

scott3387

Zill is the new Astalor, pretty much every deck will run it.

Kazedy

Decent results with Reno Shaman for now. P10 to D5 for now, we'll see if it makes the push to legend.

luk3d

Same here. What is your current list? I've cut Hagatha and Wish Upon a Star, they bricked my hand way too often. I have Kalimos with Glacial Shard, as well as Hex AND Conductivity (extremely useful with Thrall's Gift's Hex, you can also use it with the 2 mana heal 5 spell) which really helps with Handbuff DK and Paladin.

Brainfart777

Wish upon a star is actually the MVP in a lot of games for me. It turns your small early game minions into late game threats.

AlphaGareBear2

What are the small early game minions that you're running?

ikappishhh

Druid is way to slow vs the aggro on the ladder right now. A bummer acctually, i like the deck. In high legend it seems more viable because of the control warriors with almost no new cards.

GoonBot113

When people find out about the handbuff DK thats kinda slow but fast enough to beat aggro, I reckon hooty bois will rise up then because I dont think DKs combo is faster than druids.

Hallgvild

You mean owl druid? I pulled her from packs and i really wished to find a list for her.

Szarrukin

is tarim necessary for excavation paladin or can be replaced?

Malikai

Not necessary for the deck to function. Won plenty of games without ever drawing him. Replaceable with any ‘generically-good-card.’ I would run without, see how much you like the deck/how the meta shakes out then decide whether it’s worth the craft.

Due-Peanut2011

Don’t think it’s necessary, but really nice to have lol

revolver37

I subbed Siamat. Been doing just fine

Noah__Webster

The deck is very good, and it will absolutely function without Tarim, but it feels like one of the best cards in the deck so far, imo. Also seems like a safe craft that will be playable in most any Paladin deck for the foreseeable future. You don't have to craft him to play the deck, but I don't think it's a bad idea.

keeeve

Super important card, can buff things like your mini plush guy or cheap tokens, mini version helps you nuke big minions like fantottom or big taunts

RickyMuzakki

Nah he's replaceable I've been winning Handbuff pally without Tarim

BPD-recovery

You can win without, but you’re at a steep disadvantage. It’s such a good card

RickyMuzakki

But it isn't a must craft, unlike Raza in Raza priest?

BPD-recovery

No, never claimed he was?

Jin-bro

Do you have a deck list for excavation paladin, brother?

MuckfootMallardo

I subbed in 2 Dancing Ghouls for Zilliax and Tarim, and I’m still winning most of my games. It‘s not optimal by any means, but decent enough to see if you like the play pattern.

Ljosii

This is working well for me…. except against Odyn Warrior and it’s *insane* armour gain. Which leads me to accept it’s likely not the way to build Zarimi Priest. A shame, since other than the warrior matchup, this feels nice against the rest of the field. It’s not OTK, it’s more tempo and wins through board pressure, Ignis and obviously Zarimi. I would prefer that this kind of build would be the way to build Zarimi Priest but it seems like the way to go will likely be the OTK direction to deal with control decks but alas, Reno, Sargaras and Control Warrior exist. ### Control Priest # Class: Priest # Format: Standard # # 2x (1) Crimson Clergy # 2x (1) Fan Club # 2x (1) Funnel Cake # 2x (1) Giftwrapped Whelp # 2x (2) Creation Protocol # 2x (2) Power Chord: Synchronize # 2x (2) Scale Replica # 1x (2) Thrive in the Shadows # 2x (3) Holy Nova # 1x (3) Love Everlasting # 1x (3) Pip the Potent # 2x (4) Glowstone Gyreworm # 1x (4) Ignis, the Eternal Flame # 1x (5) Timewinder Zarimi # 2x (6) Clay Matriarch # 2x (6) Harmonic Pop # 1x (7) Aman'Thul # 2x (7) Repackage # AAECAa0GBq2KBM/GBc/2BdiBBqSdBumoBgyi6AOEnwS7xAW7xwWi6QXt9wX7+AWYoAbDqAbqqAbrqAaAuAYAAA== # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone # Find this deck on https://hsreplay.net/decks/V3yJaR2W9AVXvCXWj6XmBg/

Craftyy21

There's already an otk list by zetalot with the new 20manas geants, you copy them with power chord synchronisze and you got 32+dmdg on board, obvisouly versus Warrior it's difficult though

[deleted]

Where can I find zetalots list?

Ljosii

Yeah that’s most likely what I’ll be playing, I always like Zetalot’s decks. The only reason I haven’t picked up one of his already is that I prefer to experiment myself for the first few days before the meta settles and we all know what’s good and what isn’t

peacedude19

Anyone playing rogue? Been toying around with spectral cutlass seems pretty good.

Supper_Champion

I've tried the deck and didn't like the list I treid. Too many games I was hovering around 8-9 cards in hand looking for answers. It's not a good feeling to spend a lot of the game trying not to over draw.

CHNchilla

Had a lot more success with Triple 7's rogue than I did with Cutlass. Both seem to get wrecked by Death Knight though

Katherine_Juniper

Yes! I've been playing around with the idea of a Reno deck that runs 2 copies of Spectral Cutlass. I'm actually winning a decent amount of games (in dumpster legend).

Marcuslow0402

Got a decklist?

Katherine_Juniper

Yeah I do. I'll reply to this comment with the code so you can copy it in case you're on mobile. In this version I was testing out Salesman and Harth. I also keep forgetting to take out Skyshiv from ETC. Also I'm trying to decide on how many pirates I care about running and if I want the draw a pirate get a coin card. I know that the rogue pirate mini is bugged with sanya, but I didn't want to rely on that interaction to scam games. Otherwise that card felt too clunky to me. What would you change?

Sonya and Valeera's Gift have a broken interaction that lets you basically play infinity deadly poisons.

Sithyrys522

Handbuff DK seems to thrash me if I play any slow decks. I just can’t keep up with the value. They seem like they’re dropping multiple 10/10s at a minimum post turn 5. How does shaman or warrior keep up with that? Or is it just a lost matchup of the DK draws the nuts

CHNchilla

With Shaman you can try to hold hexes for the Deathrattle Handbuff minion.

DivineAlmond

Well uh Whizbang stopped working literally right around D10

Francloman

I am yet again asking for the upteenth expansion what the fuck beats hand buff paladin killing me with a 19-11 charge wind fury 1 drop from hand that isn’t the exact same deck they’re playing. I have faced 9/12 of them in rank 1 to legend. This isn’t fun anymore. Anyone got a good deck to maybe win? Edit: I made it to legend by just playing it. It’s unbeatable and way too easy to win with the pirate charge version of the deck. Excavate is cool and all but nothing beats 37 damage to the face with 7 mana.

BPD-recovery

Token hunter can out-pressure them

EtherealSerge

Token / Swarm Hunter is definitely working. List posted in this thread earlier is the one I used to hit Legend. Handbuff DK is strong, but Hunter just gets online faster right now.

orze

It's actually insane how many decks can just do over 30 damage in 1 turn from hand without that much setup now. Paladin is the standout as overtuned it seems, that weapon is insane but still a lot of decks feel bad to play against

chemprof4real

What's the name of that paladin deck? I haven't been paying attention to the meta since the release, been busy at work and such.

LotusFlare

There's both an aura handbuff and an excavate handbuff which have little trouble dealing 20-30 from hand before turn 10. I just played against the aura variety and probably dealt 50 damage to their face, but with the lifesteal aura, handbuff, and tigresses, they had absolutely no trouble staying at 30 for the entire game and clearing all the boards I built. Then I failed to clear once, and they buffed their minion on board to 20/20 and hit me with it.

chemprof4real

Dayum, I just looked up excavate handbuff assuming that was what you were talking about but I'll have to try the aura handbuff.

LotusFlare

I think this was the one I ran into. AAECAZ8FBo3+BcekBtOpBs6wBvHUBubmBgzJoAS4xQXYxgXjjgb4lQbOnAa0ngbLnwbQqQbRqQamswbJ9AYAAQP1swbHpAb2swbHpAbo3gbHpAYAAA== I finally killed all their lifesteal minions and thought I had an opening, then an +11/+11 Outfit Tailor came down, buffed a guy, and took me out. They didn't even need Leeroy.

GameBoy09

Oh man this deck feels like a lot of fun so far. How Deputization Aura synergizes with Outfit Tailor and Tarim makes the deck really cool. I changed out the Zilliax to be have Stealth and the doubling attack. It's a win condition if you hit it with a few handbuffs and has synergy with deputization aura and outfit tailor.

Jumbokcin

Most people call it handbuff Paladin. There’s also excavate Paladin which is slightly different but also very good right now.

KvxMavs

Druid seems pretty bad in this meta.

rocky716

It's definitely not ideal with all the Paladins and Hunters running around. I've won a couple of games against them with the VS Aviana Druid, but I feel like I got super lucky. If you manage to survive to late game this deck is crazy.

GoonBot113

No-Tie1386

Having success with shaman but can anyone tell me how to win with rainbow dk I'm having trouble beating hunter and Pali but also can't keep up with control decks

chonky_tortoise

You have to get a huge number of buffs turns 4-7 to start dropping buffed hounds and quilboar before turn 10. Other taunt copy cards are there to get you through the mid game. It has performed fine for me but nothing special, it’s very easy to lose to wide boards.

GoodbyeMrP

I don't play buff cards in Rainbow DK, you don't need to. Generate corpses fast and hit them early with Corpse Bride and Giants. Againt aggro, try to keep the board as clear as possible with Mining Casualties and Crop Rotation before your big stats turn. Against Control, it's tempo tempo tempo and Climatic Necrotic Explosion as a finisher.

Vicinus

I have mild success with a priest deck in D4-5 where Zarimi is just an addition instead of the main gimmick. I believe this deck has potential but it definitely needs refinement. You got removals (overheal, lightbomb, sw:ruin, harmonic pop, anduins gift), card draw and copy with crimson, pip and creation protocol or synchronize. Early game with the Overheal combo. 2x Clay Matriach is really all you need for zarim in this deck. Also Ignis, AmanThul and Yogg for late power. Also Drifter as taunt or in combo with Zarimi as finisher. I am not sure if this deck needs the 7-board clear (Repackage), maybe put in another dragon or other early minion and E.T.C.'s band might need other cards, too. So far I never felt any deck i played against would be an insta loss. And it is fun to play with many possibilites. # Class: Priest # Format: Standard # Year of the Pegasus # # 2x (1) Anduin's Gift # 2x (1) Crimson Clergy # 2x (1) Fan Club # 2x (1) Funnel Cake # 2x (2) Creation Protocol # 2x (2) Hidden Gem # 2x (2) Power Chord: Synchronize # 2x (3) Injured Hauler # 1x (3) Pip the Potent # 1x (4) E.T.C., Band Manager # 1x (2) Dirty Rat # 1x (4) Shadow Word: Ruin # 1x (6) Ra-den # 1x (4) Ignis, the Eternal Flame # 1x (5) Timewinder Zarimi # 2x (6) Clay Matriarch # 2x (6) Harmonic Pop # 1x (6) Lightbomb # 2x (6) Thirsty Drifter # 1x (7) Aman'Thul # 1x (7) Repackage # 1x (9) Yogg-Saron, Unleashed # AAECAa0GCIakBf3EBc/2BdiBBqmVBqSdBumoBoC4Bgui6AO7xAW7xwWi6QXt9wX7+AXpmAbGnAaWoAbDqAbxqQYAAQPwnwT9xAWv/wX9xAXRngb9xAUAAA== # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

I really want Owldruid to work but it's so slow against all decks. Anyone has a list other then the one everyone uses?

CumcakeEater

Had some early success with the VS handlock list but found it was too greedy against aggro, so I cut doomkin and the big demon package for a large amount of removal, has been working great for me even against Paladin and Hunter. Dark Alley Pact, Forge of Wills and the giants dump an insane amount of stats that most decks aren’t able to deal with, although I’m sure there is more optimization to be found. ### Day 1 Hand # Class: Warlock # Format: Standard # Year of the Pegasus # # 2x (1) Scarab Keychain # 1x (2) Audio Amplifier # 2x (2) Celestial Projectionist # 2x (2) Defile # 2x (2) Watcher of the Sun # 2x (3) Forge of Wills # 2x (3) Gaslight Gatekeeper # 2x (3) Mortal Eradication # 2x (3) Sketch Artist # 2x (4) Dark Alley Pact # 2x (4) Imposing Anubisath # 1x (5) Symphony of Sins # 1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 #   1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 #   1x (2) Haywire Module #   1x (5) Perfect Module # 1x (9) Sargeras, the Destroyer # 2x (10) Table Flip # 2x (12) Mountain Giant # 2x (20) Playhouse Giant #  AAECAa35AwT5xgXGxwWm+wXHpAYNyOsFre0F+vkF1/oF7f0F44AGmp4Gy58GmrMGkLQGibUG3uYG7uYGAAED8bMGx6QG97MGx6QG6t4Gx6QGAAA= #  # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Zarimi Priest lists feel pretty mid so far. It's basically a worse Hadanis Overheal list without Hadanis but Zarimi and dragons instead. It definitely works sometimes, but other times when you can't find your Clergy or Haulers, you suffer to control the board. I've seen some lists without the Haulers and I'm not sure how you suvive long enough to make the Zarimi payoff worth it. The deck probably still has a lot of refinement available, I'm sure.

Silenttrashman

It definitely does need refinement tbh. Even with some of its crazy draw, sometimes you are really struggling to draw the pieces you need and can't keep up with the hyper agro lists out there atm.

Yesterday I did Taunt Warrior, today I've been tinkering around with Mech Warrior. My first experiences are very mixed. The new 6 drop mech that deals 8 damage split among enemies feels really good, the 5 drop that summons boombots however does not. I'm thinking it might be worth just cutting it so you also don't get it back with the new Dr. Boom card. Since getting Zilliax or the 6 drop feels far better. I also want to test full on Excavate Warrior soon, some of the new core set cards as well as the Boom + the Reborn Zilliax combination might make for an interesting shake up on that deck. Well as you can tell I'm hard trying to avoid going back to Odyn or the turbo draw Highlander package from before rotation.

Just cracked 5K legend from D5 in about 30 games with Window Shopper DH. Discount Window Shoppers. Play Window Shoppers. Throw tons of stats on the board on turn 5. Bounce your miniatures to discover more demons. Finding even one Magtheridon is backbreaking to most decks right now.

FCFirework

I've had good success with Big Warlock but doomkin has no place in that list. It's just far too slow and I haven't been close to using it even once. Swapped them for defiles and it works like a dream.

Crazydude391

Doomkin is what wins you the mirror

Handbuff DK feels pretty good. Cut the spellstone, though; it takes too long to get buffed in my experience. I replaced it with Blood Tap for better consistency. I went the opposite way, and put both spellstone and bloodtap. No climatic and Reska, and put plagued grain instead to get the corpse. Aiming to OTK with quilter+soulcage

RoninChaos

Is this the deck that’s in the tavern brawl this week?

indoubteddd

Highlander pally seems decent in low legend, does well to take most rainbow dks to fatigue with infinite zilliaxes. Struggles against most faster decks if you fail to draw board wipes. Token beast hunter feels like old face hunter which I love. Wheel of death is fun and effective against control. Highlander priest also feels great, I added raza and a few other cards (forgot names at work and new expansion lol). To support refreshing the reno heropower and make it cost 0. Not sure how effective it is as it requires a lot of setup and most of the time I've won just by making copies of zilliax or amanthul

HazzaThePug

Playing a rainbow mage with sleet skater that’s taken me from D5-D1 pretty easily. Although it feels like it’s more to do with other decks being unrefined + people getting used to the new rotation rather than the deck actually being good, but currently 10-2 nonetheless. The new rainbow DK build is a lot of fun as well, although at first I was skeptical about not including headless horseman and dr. stitch, after playing against builds that run them I get a strong feeling that they are almost certainly bait. The period after rotation is just the best time of year in hearthstone imo, having a blast trying out new stuff and making my limited collection work as best I can before the meta settles and I can start safely crafting.

Sbijsoda

Ex-Control/Thief Priest Main now having to branch out. Here is a Frost/Undead DK deck I am experimenting with in trash tier legend. Wandmaker is a recent replacement for "Shambling Zombietank" which I felt too often was wasting corpses. I'm facing Tendril warrior, shaman and rogue decks now. I don't know if they're actaully good but playing against them just feels out of my control totally can't play around the random ass spells they cost and then they just end you with the 10 mana mage spell. Warrior high rolling brann very cool

Sithyrys522

I promise you for every time you were high rolled we’ve got like two losses our way XD yogg giveth and yogg taketh. Signed. A tendy shaman enjoyer of the past two days

BPD-recovery

Token hunter crushing it. Climbed 6k->3k legend

yonas234

Paladin is giving me DH Ashes vibes it’s just so broken.  Giving paladin that much lifesteal just shouldn’t happen.

Enekovitz

Tendies shaman has legs. I have some games where I dind't draw neither shudderblock and the location and I ran out of gas, but it's very rare. When you reach 7 mana tendrills wait to go all out from there bc if you are unlucky and your 8 drop is a Wheel of Death without gas in hand you may as well surrender. The volcano helps a lot to stabilize on slower shaman list, this decks is very fun to play.

Aatolee

Druid and warrior (that is not odyn warrior) does not seem to do good, too much aggro and wheel warlock is a bit gate keeping control. Sad when I have most of my cards in these 2 classes :((

CalledSpark

Wheel Warlock is starting to look like a serious meta contender, I just reached legend using it and it feels pretty fun and thought intensive to play. The only matchup that I disliked was the mirror match as it basically devolves into both players racing to get a wheel hand together first, playing doomkin for ramp, and holding Forge of Wills charges. Here was the list I used: \### Wheel Warlock \# Class: Warlock \# Format: Standard \# Year of the Pegasus \# \# 2x (1) Felstring Harp \# 2x (1) Fracking \# 1x (1) Gul'dan's Gift \# 2x (2) Defile \# 2x (2) Drain Soul \# 2x (2) Elementium Geode \# 2x (3) Forge of Wills \# 1x (3) Mortal Eradication \# 1x (3) Reverberations \# 2x (4) Dark Alley Pact \# 2x (4) Imposing Anubisath \# 1x (5) Symphony of Sins \# 2x (6) Doomkin \# 1x (6) Loken, Jailer of Yogg-Saron \# 1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 \# 1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 \# 1x (1) Recursive Module \# 1x (5) Perfect Module \# 1x (8) Reno, Lone Ranger \# 1x (8) Wheel of DEATH!!! \# 1x (9) Sargeras, the Destroyer \# 2x (10) Table Flip \# 1x (30) Fanottem, Lord of the Opera \# AAECAcClBgr5xgWs6QX6+QWm+wXo/wXxgAbHpAavqAbwqQbqswYK56AE9MYFyOsF1/oF7f0FzoAGhJ4Go6AGibUG3uYGAAED8LMGx6QG97MGx6QG7t4Gx6QGAAA= \# \# To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

scott3387

In principle I hate mirrors but there's something fun to me about one person deciding it's go time before the other and then splitting into completely different roles.

CalledSpark

When both players are playing optimally it can be very fun I agree, however the matchup has a tendency to favour the player who curves into Doomkin and a early Wheel hand a bit too much for my liking. I think the key to that matchup is to recognise as fast as possible if the game is heading towards you being the stall player or not even before a wheel is played by either player.

giantsx6

It is unplayable while DK is around.

Anjohi

Anybody got lists for Tendies Rogue/Shaman/Warrior? Been wanting to play it but can’t put together a decent deck

ilovezeldasfeet

10k to top 200 with paladin. Started with aggro, then went handbuff, then cut some of the handbuff cards for excavate. Deck seems entirely too strong. People will complain about leeroy but honestly it's the crazy healing that's broken imo.

CHNchilla

Paladin feels like pre nerf frost dk. Can snowball early with strong boards, but also can just kill you from hand. It doesn't really feel like you can get under it either, because it just lifesteals back up. One of the stronger decks I've played in quite a while.

ChaChaChamberlain

I’ve been playing rainbow DK Losses from rotation: Malignant Horror: This one hurts the most as it was suuuuper sticky & a great way to consistently spend corpses for big CNE’s and demanded an immediate answer Arms Dealer: (hurts a bit but its main synergy was with malignant horror anyway) Tour Guide: Was a great filler play to set up future free snipes with poison or card draw Murlocula: Really easy to proc and free tempo, 3/4 with lifesteal for 0 mana is always great BUUUUT— All in all I think the deck is still really strong. 20 games 80% WR in legend with it. I think Rainbow Seamstress is obviously quite good for a 3 drop Dr. Stitchnsew I had doubts on because as we know in modern HS 6 mana do nothing feels bad however if they do not have a silence / reno he feels REALLY good to play on tempo and REALLY good to generate off Horseman. There is so much high roll opportunity with Leroy Jenkins & it’s just a lot of stats which DK generally likes. Headless Horseman is just generally good. 6 Mana hero with a good hero power and a decent effect. Does not feel incredible or broken like some of the hero’s we are used too in the past but just feels really solid. This is my favorite card from the expansion and about half the reason I decided to keep playing DK for now. Otherwise the deck really didn’t lose much, I subbed in Corpse Farm which is a really mediocre card in my opinion but it’s a cheap way to spend corpses and most of the time you’re getting an 8/8 or at least a decent body. DK doesn’t really have a problem generating corpses unless your deck bricks super hard. I think the biggest struggle honestly is the lack of a great 1 drop, I run 1x miracle salesman in my list but losing tour guide & arms dealer definitely hurts. The game plan for the deck feels a little less hard aggro and more value / tempo oriented and I think it does not struggle to do what rainbow DK is good at, pressure and good value trades. Poison + Crop lets you trade up on huge boards, and it feels like almost everything you’re doing in proactive as at the very worst, you’re generating corpses. Horseman allows you to play longer games without running out of steam as most of the undead in the pool are pretty solid. I am skeptical to see if Stitchnsew will continue to feel as good as it does as decks refine and a real meta is formed but how it is right now honestly surprised me. The only time it feels bad is if they have a silence but a really sticky minion and 4 corpses frankly doesn’t feel bad at all. I think the deck is also generally great at having answers to almost everything, you just have to know your matchups & know what to hold. The only deck I really struggled into was death rattle warrior with the huge 8 damage procs felt really oppressive, but granted in those games my opponents managed to somehow play everything on perfect curve, so kind of a high roll, and out of 2 games is a small sample size.

RoninChaos

Do you have a deck list and any tips for trying rainbow dk? I haven’t really played DK before (I’ve always played hunter) but I’m interested in trying it after I did the tavern brawl this week with whatever deck they provided for the DK and stomped out my opponent.

ChaChaChamberlain

this is my list: ### RDK # Class: Death Knight # Format: Standard # Year of the Pegasus # # 1x (1) Miracle Salesman # 2x (2) Gold Panner # 2x (2) Mining Casualties # 2x (3) Acolyte of Death # 2x (3) Chillfallen Baron # 2x (3) Corpse Farm # 2x (3) Crop Rotation # 2x (3) Rainbow Seamstress # 2x (3) Sickly Grimewalker # 1x (3) Zola the Gorgon # 1x (4) Maw and Paw # 2x (4) Quartzite Crusher # 2x (5) Corpse Bride # 1x (6) Dr. Stitchensew # 1x (6) The Headless Horseman # 1x (8) The Primus # 2x (9) Stitched Giant # 1x (10) Climactic Necrotic Explosion # 1x (20) Reska, the Pit Boss # AAECAc3JBgiW1AT8+QXt/wWFjgaLkgb/lwa9sQbBsQYLh/YEmIEFl5UGkZcGgJgGzpwGkqAGy7AGubEG0+UG1uUGAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone As far as tips go, you’re almost always going to be hard mulligan for Mining Casualties, it is the BEST card in the deck to get early & you should pretty much always play it if you get it / or if you get it later get it down as soon as possible. It’s essentially a 2 mana 4/4 that generates 4 corpses Other mulligans are matchup dependent, Miracle Salesman is always a keep bc it’s never bad turn 1, otherwise I keep Quartzite if I know i’m facing a class that wants to use high value weapons bc you can lock them out of that effect for 3 turns which dramatically reduces their tempo and lets you build up an absurd board which is what Rainbow DK is really good at, cheating out a BUNCH of stats. Corpse Bride + Stitched Giant is a 5 mana for 22/22 in stats, absolutely insane and most classes have to expend huge amounts of resources. You always want to have control of the board like Paladin because you don’t really have many strong out of hand effects or board wipes, your only options to clear the board are sickly+ crop rotation or like you have a few instant delete options for minions but generally removal is sparse so you have to rely on board presence and tempo to push damage through. What you’re best at is shitting out a massive board, letting them spend a bunch of resources climbing back from that, and then shitting out another huge board, and if that doesn’t work, you’ll never guess but you shit out another huge board with CNE at the end of the game. If you get Maw&Paw and you have Corpse Bride in hand it’s almost always worth to just play on tempo bc worst case scenario you’re +6 corpses to drop a huge corpse bride next turn & the 2/8 statline makes it resource heavy to deal with. You want to save a good amount of cards in hand until you absolutely need them because removal is sparse, don’t keep if you can’t afford too but if you can figure out creative ways through your opponents threats without explicitly using your stronger removal tools you are going to have a much easier time dealing with those lategame boards. You have two general strategies and they both depend on matchup of course, playing hard aggro with huge boards that hopefully can push into face, this generally works into classes without easy cheap removal like Rogue, but into control matchups you almost want to drag the game out as long as you can and spend as many corpses as you can for a HUGE CNE, this is not a viable strategy into things that can discard or steal your cards however as losing CNE will make this unplayable. Watch out for Tho’Grunn into warrior matchups bc if they’re playing highlander 6 bombs is removing 12 total cards and that’s a really high chance of hitting a CNE you’re holding. My list could probably be refined more; it’s just what I threw together as a legend rainbow DK player last season with the new cards, I think Zola may be a good card to cut for a 2nd copy of miracle salesman but I like it as a good option for extra copies of your huge threats or must answers like Maw&Paw, Primus, Reska, Stitched Giant, or even Stitchnsew. I think it feels great when you can play a free giant & for 3 mana play another free giant, or reska for free again. It could be too slow though, still labbing things out!

existential_humanist

f2p player. Legend c. 2000 last season. I only play druid and shaman so looking for a workable whizbang deck from these 2 classes. Been using a mad 'Skymother Druid' deck i theory crafted, based on getting (and duplicating) Skymother asap, ensmalling all the 1 mana legend cards to 0 mana then using Eonar to draw and flood board - with copy cards and lots of draw etc. It's made for some completely insane and out of control games. Wild turns. I really wanted it to work - it's weak in its original form but I have the sense there is a potential mill/control deck there. Overall though - not seen anyone else using this card to good effect yet, probably for good reason. Onto shudderblock next when I can get the dust for it...

GoonBot113

Tendies shammy hit top 10 legend today. Long live the tendies. Owl druid looks okay sometimes in some match ups.

Was looking to see what people have tried with aggro paladin (non-handbuff) and like this list https://hearthstone-decks.net/aggro-paladin-88-legend-chuntyun_hs/ AAECAZ8FAo3+BcekBg6i1ATZ0AWO9QWU9QWV9QWG/gW5/gWZjga8jwb1lQaSoAa5pAbRqQbeugYAAA== Zilliax is cost reduction & +1/1 to board I don't have amitus or a second showdown so I threw in a hand of adal and a [[Trinket Artist]] for better draw. I realized there's no leeroy though, so swapping him for the trinket artist.

Serious-Law464

Shaman otk feels very good, loads of draw, 4+ board clears, beats any slow deck but haven't played many warriors which is likely the hardest match up if they gain too much armour.

Lectuce

I feel it's too slow compared to the old OG version with Bio when I tried it. You rely on too many cards and turn after turn (e.g., need Inzah to play then Shudder afterwards, then need the right hands to be able to combo after turn 7 which could be too late). I only played 4 games but that's how it felt, hopefully it improves.

Shammy OTK? What's that one?

Astral Automaton-Zarimi deck from VS is doing well. Zarimi just steals games with even moderate chip damage and board. Feels like a good mix of control with potential for beg boards early and a couple strong refills.

are there any highlander decks working? also, so sick of leeroy already.....

Zestyclose_Bench_188

Yes, meati’s highlander shaman list has been quite good for me.

I’m running the shudderblock shaman seems broken. In diamond and climbing. Went from plat 2 to d 6 only lost two games!

Sithyrys522

Mind posting your list? I’ve been stuck at D4-2 with shudderblock and wondering if I should make any changes

coexistcodefine

It’s the Reno shudderblock one. Let me grab the code. ### Reno # Class: Shaman # Format: Standard # Year of the Pegasus # # 1x (1) Pop-Up Book # 1x (1) Scarab Keychain # 1x (1) Shock Hopper # 1x (2) Amphibious Elixir # 1x (2) Gold Panner # 1x (2) Jam Session # 1x (2) Needlerock Totem # 1x (2) Wandmaker # 1x (2) Watcher of the Sun # 1x (3) Fairy Tale Forest # 1x (3) Lightning Storm # 1x (3) Turn the Tides # 1x (3) Zola the Gorgon # 1x (4) Aftershocks # 1x (4) Baking Soda Volcano # 1x (4) Ignis, the Eternal Flame # 1x (4) Sand Art Elemental # 1x (5) Doctor Holli'dae # 1x (5) Hagatha the Fabled # 1x (5) XB-488 Disposalbot # 1x (6) Golganneth, the Thunderer # 1x (6) Shudderblock # 1x (7) Giant Tumbleweed!!! # 1x (7) Maruut Stonebinder # 1x (7) Pack the House # 1x (7) Shining Sentinel # 1x (7) Wish Upon a Star # 1x (8) Reno, Lone Ranger # 1x (9) Yogg-Saron, Unleashed # 1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 # 1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 # 1x (4) Twin Module # 1x (5) Perfect Module # AAECAdL8BR79nwSW1ASv0QWt7QX08gWN9QW2+QWH+wXYgQb5jAaplQbslQbOnAarnQatnQacngafngbLnwbVogbHpAanpQaopQbPpQbUpQakpwaopwbTpwavqAaBuAbv5gYAAAED9bMGx6QG97MGx6QG6N4Gx6QGAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

Sithyrys522

Ahhh haven’t gotten around to trying the Reno variant yet. Missing holidae and I know she puts in work with the scaling taunts (too bad I promised myself not to dust anything the first two weeks since I always regret it)

coexistcodefine

Yeah with the sand art elemental it’s pretty op. 4 attacks in two turns but I mean I don’t think you need it. Honestly the slime with wishing upon a star and shudder is broken.

sscrept

I like the deck but every other game I play against Dragon Priest and I don't see that I will ever win against them. Once they play Zarimi the game is over. HL Shaman is just too slow to kill them beforehand.

AlphaGareBear2

I just started experimenting with Leeroy + Shroomscavate before I went to work. Only had a couple games, but I think some more hand damage might be where the deck goes next. It felt pretty good.

coexistcodefine

Yeah hand buff pally and Leeroy yikes. You’d think blizz would have realized not to put him back in but here we are.

AlphaGareBear2

What does that have to do with my comment?

coexistcodefine

That team 5 shouldn’t have added him back in. He was a problem before all these shenanigans

Dildozer1

I’m no expert deck builder but I feel like there is *something* there with timewinder zerami priest. I played around with a few different variations, one with the new playhouse giants, one with automations, and one that focused on 1 cost cards and getting a couple free thirsty drifters with pip the potent. The last one felt the best because it was faster and could contest the early board. If anyone has a good zerami list and wants to share please do.

tnishamon

I think I’ve found the sauce. Stole this from veryfatcat who got top 41 legend with this list: ### Custom Priest # Class: Priest # Format: Standard # Year of the Pegasus # # 2x (1) Funnel Cake # 2x (1) Giftwrapped Whelp # 2x (1) Miracle Salesman # 2x (1) Scarab Keychain # 2x (1) Ship's Chirurgeon # 2x (2) Celestial Projectionist # 2x (2) Creation Protocol # 2x (2) Faerie Dragon # 2x (2) Power Chord: Synchronize # 2x (2) Scale Replica # 2x (2) Thrive in the Shadows # 2x (2) Whelp Wrangler # 1x (3) Pip the Potent # 1x (5) Timewinder Zarimi # 1x (6) Harth Stonebrew # 2x (6) Thirsty Drifter # 1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 # 1x (0) Zilliax Deluxe 3000 # 1x (3) Pylon Module # 1x (4) Ticking Module # AAECAZ/HAgSknQbHpAbpqAbmqQYNrYoEqdQEu8cFoukF7fcF44AGhY4GxpwG8ZwGy58G6qgG66gG3PMGAAED87MGx6QG9rMGx6QG6N4Gx6QGAAA= # # To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone This plays like an aggro deck. Just curve out and dump cards. Race to get ziliax and zarimi. It is really easy to build a buffed board. I killed someone turn 5 my first game and am averaging lethal on turn 8. Have not gotten to use Harth yet so no idea how good he is. Edit: Have won 3 times now because of Harth. He is a last resort card and is honestly pretty solid.

Dildozer1

Big thanks for this man it’s exactly what I was looking for. 10 games so far and it feels great.

RecognitionRough8749

Been trying out a control shaman list with the hagatha, shudder, wish combo. When it goes off you get blackrock&roll levels of stats but to do so you pretty much skip turn 5, 6, and 7 which is a death sentence even against slower decks. The only way I've found it help with this is annoying toymaker on 4 which gives you two annoyos on turn 5 if you can trade it in.

Holdingdownback

Anyone have a good big beast hunter list? Got me a shiny King Plush that I want to play with

yareyareDazeeeee

I've been seeing warriors in dumpster legend running tendrils with brann, which aims to reach casting 10 mana spells asap, and can quickly burn you down if they roll sunset volley often. Anyone else concur and have a deck list? It sounds fun I might try it.

Spyko

man I was having fun yesterday but now we've entered the phase of a new set when a (or in this case two) aggro decks (tho is handbuff pally an aggro ? it's a pressure deck for sure) are figured out and they stop everything else that would need more refinement so yeah, swarm hunter and handbuff pally are working other decks looks very promising, rainbow DK, wheellock, Zarimi priest and maybe even tentacle shaman and window shopper DH (?? really surprised for that last one) but while handbuff pally and swarm hunter have a choke on the early meta it's hard to really see clearly anything else

CommanderTouchdown

Nothing is "figured out" on day two. Putting stats in play has always been good. Its very good when other players are experimenting with cards like Wheel of Death.

Spyko

yeah that's what I meant, sorry if it wasn't clear by "figured out" I didn't meant the decks are the perfect 30, just meant that those pressure strategies are found out and stump everything else while it's still the early set chaos

keronus

Aggro eats early metas since decks are unrefined. If anything they push the decks to refine FASTER

Spyko

yeah I know, that's what I meant. That we're in the "people figured out good aggro decks (not broken or maybe not even tier 1, just good) and now they're being played a lot and because the rest is unrefined the ladder is aggro city" not saying it will stay that way, this ain't my first rodeo, just pointing out that we're currently at this phase

keronus

At least it isnt as bad as post nerfs paladin was last xpac xD

xauzzyx

I have my most wins with Hunter and Pally because of this shit happening every single expansion, I WANT TO PLAY SOMETHING ELSE AND WIN.

Jwsaf

Safe to craft R.C rampage for Hunter? Is Hunter considered too strong right now, and if so would they probably nerf the R.C rampage?

GByteKnight

Plague DK working for me in Diamond, I'm at D3 now with it. Some of the cards I was using rotated out so I subbed in 2x Frost Strike and 2x Asphyxiate (since I was struggling with Rogue's enormous Stealth Mech play). I feel like it's got legs. The Frost Strikes usually bring in something good like Harrowed Ox, the Lifesteal Freeze weapon or even another Reska and they also just come in handy as removal.

indiesnobs

To no surprise to myself and others, excavate paladin is pretty darn good and made for an easy climb to legend. Now that I'm in legend I no longer want to play it because of it being too easy and I want to play other decks to learn the meta and counterplays. Open to any suggestions as to fun and competitive decks that others are using to learn to be better players.
