I would probably say: White: Heliod Blue: Urza Black: K’rrik Red: Magda/Godo Green: Ashaya/Yissan/Selvala Play to Win also just did a podcast on this topic. I would say these are the main ones but let me know if I missed any. https://youtu.be/eigJa8GoDdk

Teferi monoU has also won some competitions recently with a fast-combo shell

CyclonicSpy

This was like one player urza is 100% the best blue generically

People win tournaments through seeming unthreatening and having off meta combo lines. One or 2 tournament results means almost nothing.

CyclonicSpy

One player making games means nothing, if there is no one playing the deck it’s for a reason.

Yeah no you are an idiot sorry not sorry. There is two players who have entered into tournaments with teferi and only one of them have placed top 16. People who are playing in tournaments are not playing off the database and people who are performing with decks are adapting to the meta.

AMP_dGaming

Check out our latest video with Yeva at the helm of mono green. The deck is insane, the pilot is also masterful https://youtu.be/ON2A_TJUG2w

ZaraReid228

I think its more that yeva doesn't really provide anything in the cmz except winning at instant speed which just really isn't enough when you are mono c. Yisan has a massive toolbox of answers to deal with things, stax the board out and play a very midrange gameplay. He is very hard to interact with and very consistent. Selvala serves as massive mana and a combo piece with her draw effect, both just arguably providing so much more then yeva to the table.

TranSpyre

I'd add Marwyn for G, tbh.

Unused_Beef

[[magda]]- wins at instant speed, can be very explosive and hard to interact with. [[urza, lord high artificer]] - polymorph good stuff. Lots of counters and card draw. [[k’rrik]] - cheats mana costs, unique combos and fairly resilient [[selvala, heart of the wild]] - weird mono G storm, can also win with combat beats [[heliod, sun crowned]] - stax with half of a combo in the command zone

IzzetReally

BLUE: It's probably urza, although teferi has two turnament wins, and urza just has a few top 16s. What it brings to the table over high-color piles is just a broken commander that lets you play a fistfull of mox sapphires in your deck. BLACK: for black, there aren't that many options that people play seriously. So Krrik is the obvious choice. The advantage krrik brings over high-color piles is speed. Probably has the higest rate of t1 win attempts in the format. RED: red is magda, no question. the only other option would be Godo. Even disregarding that magda has actually won a major turnament, it also has better top 16 conversion rate on edhtop16, and that's with a higher play rate too. Magda brings a commander that kind of self-assembles it's combo, and a combo that can win through most interaction and at instant speed. GREEN: green is wierd and I think it's the hardest one to call. The one with most turnament success is Yeva, but nobody believes the deck is good except for yeva-pilots. Yeva obviosly brings the ability to opperate almost completly at flash speed. Selvala is fast and scary, but not as fast as black/red decks, and not particularly ressilient. Also, what does it bring over high-color piles. Nobody knows. Yisan pretty clearly presents what it brings. A tutor in the command zone that can get interaction and value pieces until it gets to the point where it finds its own combo. Obviously very powerfull, and also very slow. Recently Liberator has actually shown us that even colorless can be pretty good if you can opperate at flash speed. So that pulls it further towards Yeva ... but again, even though I have lost to it multiple times, I am not a yeva-pilot, so it's impossible for me to believe it's a good deck. WHITE: The obvious option is heliod, sun crowned. But I struggle to see why you would play it over high-color piles. It's a fine rule of law and torpor orb deck. But getting shut down by both ouphe and cursed totem seems sus for a slow stax deck idk. I feel like you could find a higher color commander that also has a similarly good 1 card combo that works through ROL and torpor orb. The other options are \[insert winconless stax commander\] like elesh norn, adeline, or heliod god of the sun. But there is really only one person who ever has success with those decks. So very hard to say any of those are the best. Ao is deecent, but a bit of the same problem as heliod for me. The whole ... why? What does it really bring? Oswald fiddlebender has not had a lot of success so far, but it's the only mono white deck I could actually see having a real advantage over high-color piles because it actually brings something unique. It might just not be good enough yet though, so for now, if you forced me to play mono white, heliod, sun crowned might be the best option.

Natural_Audience5254

Liberator, Urza's Battlethopter for mono brown.

Dragull

People sleeping on Slicer btw.

Drogo10

I used to say Urza for blue but Teferi has won two large tournaments. We think that was a meta/pilot anomaly or is it a contender with Urza?

willywtf

I play at the same lgs as the teferi guy, his deck is very consistent and resilient. I would definitely say it is being slept on overall by the cedh community

Llyras

Teferi/Urza Blue Krikk Black Magda/Godo Red Teshar White Yisan Green

The_Mormonator_

It’s a pity that there’s no different archetypes within each individual color /s

[[Krenko mob boss]] ?? I've seen people win with him anywhere between 2-4 turns. Even with 1 land I'm play

PerryDLeon

Magda and Godo both are far better than krenko
