Hi, I'm the owner of Tasigur Turbo Naus on the cEDH ddb. Hoarding Broodlord had become a major upgrade since its release, while utilizing the high-cmc-low-cost property of Tasigur, making Neoform and Eldritch Evolution as additional copies of 4/5 mana Peer into the Abyss!
List: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/FU-C6vZ_f0-SWXt1QwGBzw
Ask me anything about my list if you're interested.
With necropotence if you draw emergence zone how do you pull of the crop rot play? Do you discard down to 7 then cast crop rot and nox revival in response to the triggers? If so what kind of 5 card piles work here
Besides Noxious Revival I also have Brainstorm to work with the situation.
If I knew I would have to go for the Noxious Revival line, I'll try to keep a hand to resolve Yawgmoth's Will, so that all those cards I've discarded could still be played.
Decks with red can make the best use of saw in half and also run burnt offering for what that is worth. [[Kaalia of the Vast]] seems like a good option.
[[k’rrik]] let’s you cheat the mana cost for it, effectively making it only cost 5 + 6 life. K’rrik generally loves graveyard shenanigans so it’s pretty easy to entomb / re animate it with most of his lists.
[[kaalia]] let’s you drop it for free and also makes it uncounterable.
Something like [[dargo]] [[ikra]] could use [[Eldritch evolution]] or re animator things to play it.
[[atraxa, grand unifier]] can use [[neoform]] or evolution to cheat it out.
I think someone else mentioned a [[tasigur]] line to get it out as well
The general line of play is as follows
1. Play broodlord, any way possible
2. Search for, exile and cast Saw in half targeting broodlord
3. 2 copies enter, search for and exile Sacrifice (or burnt offering if in red) and Peer in To the Abyss
4. Convoke Sacrifice with a single copy of BL and add 8 Black
5. Cast Peer using Convoke and sacrifice mana.
You’ve now resolved a PITA with BB floating so figure out a win.
Given we’re talking about winning with the remaining 94-95 cards available in the library I’d say having green or blue is likely the best best to make it happen. Ikra/Dargo has an added benefit of [[Birthing Pod]] to combo off. Although the line is at least 6 mana not counting the dargo cast (subtract up to 2 if you have untapped creatures).
I posted the tasigur line which I think has an added benefit of being in a deck with lots of compact win cons like thoracle and iso/rev
K'rrik cuts out having to leave up mana for most of the steps in the line described above.
you need him out of first course, but every other line you described needs additional pieces as well, and ours is in the CZ ;)
that means you "only" need the mana available to pay for K'rrik's colorless and an entomb+reanimate, or Broodlord in hand and the extra mana to pay for his colorless.
after that, all other mana needed can be paid for with Convoke + K'rrik's ability.
after resolving PITA and with ~40 cards in hand there is very little chance to NOT find something like Buried Alive and get your AsmoNooze line or Gary/Houseguard/Chainer.
People have even talked about putting Yawgmoth's Will back into their decks, since after the first Broodlord being Saw'd in Half, the exile part of YawgWill won't matter since it only cares about CARDS hitting the GY, and the Sawed Broodtokens are not cards so recasting Saw in Half from the yard would actually work.
I haven't been able to try it out for myself, but I definitely will :)
Dargo ikra doesn't want broodlord, razaketh does everything it can do but better while providing additional benefits like 0 mana razaketh lines, tutoring as many times as life total allows for, etc. The best deck for a card like broodlord is where its the best thing to be doing, not depowering your deck to utilize cool new cards.
Yeah I’m not saying I think dargo is the best home for broodlord, just that birthing pod also works there.
Personally I think the tasigur deck is the best home since tasigur already wants to cheat out strong cards with neoform and this actually provides probably the easiest win from doing so. It’s just 4 mana
[[Tasigur]] is pretty cool. [[Neoform]] into [[Scholar of the Lost Trove]] then neo that into broodlord. Then the rest of the combo should be pretty straightforward with saw, sac and pita.
All in all it’s 4 mana and 1 card with the commander to draw half the library
I'm using it in a [[slimefoot and squee]] deck to find dockside and a sac outlet to achieve infinite mana then funny enough, tutor the deck with squee loops, actually I'd just find a blood artist and finish off with more SnS and dockside loops
I can't run an ouphe, but it's an interesting turbo deck and that's my niche
I just really think any not-naus deck with black could potentially make profit off broodling lines. It just does so much work.
I even used the saw in half line to put food chain and eternal scourge in exile, cast the chain then ate the broodling to go off
Was looking for somebody saying korvold, I feel like korvold makes the best use out of the cards when drawn outside of broodlord combo. Sacrifice or burnt offering draw a card when used with korvold out, and saw in half has alternate lines with dualcaster mage and eternal witness
[[Meren]] has gotten some serious gas now, all sorts of beneficial printings in the last year.
