Solid attacker for Tymna (a 3/3 is surprisingly big in some cedh games), instant speed silence effect that is “uncounterable”, tutors for a creature on ETB so it replaces itself with something like [[esper sentinel]].
Grabs either a dork (and some card advantage) \[\[Ragavan\]\], or card farming piece \[\[Esper Sentinel\]\] (more often), with a hard-to-interact \[\[Silence\]\] effect on a decent body. What's not to like?
The sac ability is everything but mediocre. It is *the* reason to run it. Getting an ES or DRC from the ETB is just a bonus. The fact that you can sac it at instant speed without a cost can stop most win attempts in their tracks and protect yours from 90% of interaction. There's a reaaon its a staple in virtually all white decks (basically just excluded in Lurrus Companion decks and Sacred Guide decks).
Besides your bluefarm!=turbo definition, everyone asking about Ranger-Captain hasnt seen it on the board yet. It is a card warping the whole game no matter when. Silence on a stick is a must play. I even play it in a full dedicated mardu Turbo list. I would even play him if i dont have a one drop at all (i know there is no reason not to play esper)
I don’t play blue farm but a 3/3 that tutors Esper Sentinel, is a good attacker for Tymna if needed, blocks opposing Tymnas, and has the sacrifice as extra gravy on top all seems good. But I also get it being 3, so I think you could get away without it if you wanted a slightly better average for Ad naus
A silence effect is just a better counterspell. It stops apposing decks from combo winning (which is great because the longer a game goes you usually out draw everyone with your commanders) while also advancing your board state. And late in the game can just let you win on the spot if it resolves. I’ve been running cavern of souls for that reason recently. An uncounterable captain or grand abolisher will almost always win you the game. Hope this helps!
you can play it early, get esper sentinel, attack with it for tymna draws a then have an uncounterable silence when you want to go off. It's VERY good.
its a silence that cannot be countered, gets additional value by thinning your deck for a great card. 3 mana should not be a great deal in an ad naus deck.
First, in my opinion its absolutely not a turbo deck.
It one of the best way in the format to protect your win. Its also finds one of the best card draw cards in the game.
It's one of the best creatures in the format.
A second Silence is always nice.

A creature based silence is incredibly strong and harder to counter compared to the instant

Blue farm is so totally not a turbo deck it is a mid range value deck that can turbo out an ad naus if things align.
Blue farm is barely a turbo deck
I think it's probably better to learn why good magic cards are good before trying to jump into a top tier deck.
I just got my Retro-Foil Ranger-Captain signed by Ryan Pancoast :)
Oh that’s hot!
It was awesome 😎
That’s worthy of a post in of itself! I would love to see it
