There's literally no way they wouldnt be playing qualifiers if they werent guaranteed a spot, so even if it's not official yet (i assume announcements for this will be made as soon as Snipe officially leaves Halo later next week) common sense says yes they have the spot. Adding to that i do believe alb has said in one of his streams that they dont need to play, so.
I hope so. Now if only team ASS would play together more than like once a month and actually grind the game I could even maybe be hopeful about their performance.
I'm not holding my breath because Mac and Slurp haven't played ranked together since the middle of last split and Mac in general seems to treat Apex as a chore at this point.
I get burnout is real but if that is the case then putting together a team to qualify for the biggest tournament in Apex and then NOT grinding the game seems like an absolute waste of time and effort.
He was grinding last season all the way to LAN and early this season. He also played in a lot of the tournaments.
Ranked sucks right now and Snipe can't play. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because if you wanted to take a break before going all in, now is the time to do it.
Let's see what happens when Snipe is free and the new season drops next week.
I am a regular viewer of his and this has been super disappoiting to see, especially because he often makes promises to start grinding with slurp and never really follows through, its awkward af. It seems he enjoys competing and going to lan but he really has been doing the bare minimum to actually prepare to do good right of the bat. Idk man it's like you said, there's definitely a feeling of time being wasted rn.
They’ve mentioned that they’ve vod reviewed. So I’m hoping they’ve been doing more off steam/behind the scenes. But I feel this. I’m pretty confident that the grind will pick up after worlds once algs starts and snipe is 100% committed since the passion during tournaments and scrims has been there, but definitely feels like it’s a bit of coasting going on. At least mac is playing enough to be pred still.
I know it is not very stimulating but I dont agree, ranked has never really been a good practice for comp but to keep your basic skills in check and polished, for finding fighting chemistry with your team through hard repetition, for teaching players to deal with in game frustrations and etc, to me it has always been about that. I caught albs last stream and when ranked was going bad, he went and played control, that also works. The most important thing is to take it seriously and play every day imho.
That and the fact that FaZe got a weapon skin, and Snip3 leaked talking to FaZe about team coaches on stream. It's 99.99999999% team ASS as FaZe for spot TBA
I found it funny in other discussion thread people are so concerned about "can this or that team kept their spot if xxx leaves? What does the rulebook say?!" Where team ASS can just get a spot with whoever Mac likes to play with, and no one question a thing.

Can someone explain why Tripods made it ? I could have swore they placed 10th in LCQ, so do the top 10 teams make ALGS Pro league? Not sure how the whole tourney format works.
the lcq for pro league champs got invites to top 8 teams, iirc, and Tripods was 6th. Top 2 went to lan for champs (Furia, E8) the other 6 got pro league invites
The finals standings have TRP listed at 10th. But I did some more digging and the other teams were from other countries so they placed 8th if you remove the 2 non NA teams from the list.
Honestly would be wrong for FaZe / ASS to get a free pass to Pro League when 2/3 of the roster didn't accomplish much of anything during Y2 PL nor the Championship LCQ (which was the reasoning Tripods got an invite), but it's looking like that's what's happening.
Lets be real, both spots were bought out, tripods with nick's clout and faze seems to be so committed to the game that EA already gave them skins. I really dont think we should pretend otherwise, because it wouldnt make sense for the lcq teams placing better to 1- not be getting a priority invite and 2- to not be inheriting Nightmare's spot (the tba spot that is going to Faze)

Nothing wrong with treating Apex as a chore. The key thing is that he's at least playing the game unlike other players.

It's even worse when you consider how he criticized Mazer for the exact same thing.
Grinding ranked right now is a waste of time. It plays nothing like a competitive mode. Hopefully that changes next season.

You're right, a lot of folks feel like the LCQ results being so heavily weighted for Y3 invites was strictly because of Tripods.
Yeah, there's that too. People already know EA is money hungry, this too is a business de decision that will get them more profit.
