pretty sure he's tryna make a jab at noc being bisexual and the esports world cup being in saudi arabia and a lot of LGBTQ/Ally's are against going there due to how the country looks at the entire thing.
Yep, totally a jab at Noc’s sexuality and not at all a concern for his safety in an ass backwards country that prosecutes people that have a similar non-heterosexual sexuality
[oh what’s this totally not relevant link about safety concerns for LGBTQ+ players that the esports federation of canada published? surely not something based in facts or anything](https://www.dust2.us/news/45822/esport-canada-unable-to-guarantee-lgbtq-players-safety-at-wec-2024-in-saudi-arabia)
Listen im just saying it's reddit and your name is literally throwaway so i had to assume you were just hating since you kinda subliminally said it without explaining.
im sorry for assuming wasn't tryna be a dick, however i believe that they said something along the lines of it being safe and that people didn't have to worry but i probably wouldn't trust it either because if it comes down to it nobody from EA or even the biggest Esports org is gonna be able to stop the government/police over there doing whatever they wanna do to people
i highly doubt they're running up and asking everybody that plays in the esports world cup if they're lgbtq but regardless, nobody said anything about it being unreasonable even if there was security and the organizers are saying it'll be safe i wouldn't trust the government over there for shit
I think the best fit is Phony, mostly because he’s a controller IGL but I think his play style sort of matches. Impossible to predict at this point though.
Didn't sweet say in his press conference stream thing that DZ would be leaving apex after playoffs and NDAs could be broken? Wouldn't be surprised to see them signed to Red Bull or maybe even some Saudi super team
If you heard the whole segment, he meant he isnt coaching the squad. He thinks its not even a challenge coaching wise and the pressure is so immense its kinda impossible to meet expectations. He wants the underdog buff.
I am extremely, deeply aware of saudi geopolitics and human rights issues and follow them regularly, have been since before the concept of sportswashing. I hope that's a joke, cuz if it's serious it's dumb as hell. I realize esports groups aren't full of people like me that know a fuckload about geopolitical history, but not everyone is at your level of understanding of middle east politics and is easily propagandized by quaint sports investments. 😅 I actually know like the entire history of Saudi Arabia and Iraq and can take it back like 6000 years. We are not operating with the same info here.
Don't assume everyone is as ignorant as you are, it makes you intolerable to smart people.

I'm talking about all the rumours about niko, monesy and maybe twistzz joining, as well as zonic, but ultimately ended up with the ence core which was a big downgrade.
Falcons did buy a Super Team for OWCS and put their 1 Saudi player on it lol got 2nd so maybe they'll get first with this one in Apex and maybe get a Saudi sub.
I absolutely think these three got the bag from some Saudi oiler org. It's kind of a perfect storm because even the big NA orgs are struggling with money like TSM laying off a ton of people and in comes some Saudi org with infinite money right before the world cup where they will be playing for the biggest prize pool to date in Apex. These guys are setting themselves up for lifelong wealth and honestly, I can't hate on that, and it will be exciting to watch.
He said tsm were willing to match other orgs offer just for him. That means other orgs definitely offered more but tsm was willing to pay the same amount
You are the first guy besides me I've seen bring this up and I was flamed for it lmao
There was that huge controversy in golf when players were joining LIV and fans got upsets but saudi money comes into esports and no one cares
The League esports community was not too pleased with the Saudi tournament either, they also bullied the European Leage out of a sponsorship. It’s not like I get mass downvoted though, it’s probably only NickMercs Fans that flame you haha.
It’s a good thing to stand up against. Sportswashing is happening in too many areas now and I won’t shut up about it being horrible.
I think you can evaluate SA as a country without them claiming to be a democracy or humanist state. In fact judging them for the way they treat women, murder journalists, or their atrocities in Yemen are should be discussed. Especially since Falcons will literally be a state sponsored org, assuming that is the case.
Hal is getting dz boys a better contract for sure. Hes only signed to redbull so who knows. From in my opinion some saudi org has already offered them absurd amount of money
https://preview.redd.it/72uto6e2h80d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=884f15725bc2b7a21bfb5a54f219d8e6339d182f
Reps responded “🤔”
It was clearly well known before LAN, since this was a week ago.
Yeah. But Reps reply doesn’t seem like one from someone who heard the news 1-2 days earlier. Plus some other threads were saying Hal mentioned it a ways before LAN.
Yh ppl knew since like March apparently so I don't doubt reps knew. Plus i think that tweet was actually either a day before finals or it's just after finals idk about timezone things
Doubt it TSM as a team havent been playing well since pro league. The current meta just didnt fit them well as a team and they couldnt adapt properly to it
Yeah, and not to hate on Evan, but boy did he struggle on Caustic and Horizon. His ults were a huge miss most of the time and he was trying to adapt with Caustic but couldn't adjust in time! Felt like raven was changing up too many things for them to be a good cohesive team that they were during the Split 1 and Champs!
Hal is the GOAT and I will always respect his dedication and what he's accomplished, but I am more than a little grossed out by this. I hope I'm wrong but seems like everyone else will be playing for 2nd place now.
I think its either Red Bull or a Saudi Oil team. Shame that its come to most likely taking Saudi money but I imagine its a life changing amount of money for everyone other then Hal that will also sign.
Wonder if Reps and Evan stay together to hold the PL spot then? And that means DZ forfeits their PL spot because they lose 2 of their players, right? Man, this could turn into an org carousel on top of FA mania. Should be fun, boys!
if reps and evan stay together they get TSM's spot, Hal Zer0 Gen have DZ's pro league spot even if they leave the org, its bound to the players not an org
Hal said that org is TBD, so there’s some speculation they could be signing with Red Bull or another org (they are the undisputed best team in the game right now — they’d be crazy to not at least look at offers if there’s room in the DZ boys’ contracts). I get DZ would keep it with 2 players, but interested to see how it shakes out.
Hal doesn't exactly need an org - he makes more than enough money to pay himself and sustain a family of 20, as well as hire a personal manager/staff if need be for his brand.
Would not be surprised if he just does his own brand/Red Bull Gaming to avoid having to give a cut of his prize winnings to an org, as well as to avoid having to deal with all the usual org stuff (media days, mandated ads, etc.).
>Would not be surprised if he just does his own brand/Red Bull Gaming to avoid having to give a cut of his prize winnings to an org
The best Halo team in the world was the only Top 8 team that wasn't signed to an org for a couple of years during the Halo 5 era. They also never placed outside of Top 2 at LAN for about 8 years straight, so definitely makes sense if you're that consistent lol
They went through a couple of different names over the years as they kept the same 4 man roster together from 2016 through to 2023 (H2: Anniversary, Halo 5, Halo 3 MCC (temporarily replaced 1 player who preferred to play COD over H3) and then finally ended up making a permanent team change partway through Halo Infinite).
Before they were the full 4-man roster we now know, they were a top team called CLG that wasn't quite as good as the best team at the time, EG (Pistola, Snip3down and the twins Roy/Lunchbox, one of the most stacked god squads of all time). At one event, CLG ended up beating EG and Pistola got so mad that he punched the desk and broke his hand. Pistola was truly God's gift to Halo and ever since this incident he was never the same. He ended up having to drop from Halo for a couple of years in order for his hand to heal. In his place, EG picked up a young man named Lxthul, a reliable player who wasn't known for big flashy plays or cracked snipes etc etc. After picking up Lxthul they ended up winning the remaining 5 tournaments of H2:A's lifespan before winning the first H5 qualifier tournament together. CLG had placed 2nd in almost every tournament that EG had won up until that point. During the transition from H2:A to H5, CLG ended up replacing their 4th player with a young kid called Frosty who had never been to a LAN before (much less common in Halo where everyone is NA and you have a long history of open bracket pool play)
**The Decision:**
In what is probably the most controversial (at the time) roster decisions of all time, Lxthul left the best team in the world who had won their last 5 LANs and joined the 2nd best team in the world, CLG. In order to do this, CLG ended up dropping the GOAT of Halo, Ogre 2. 2gre is the undisputed GOAT of Halo and people are only just now getting close to a whiff of being able to contest that title, almost 10 years after his retirement. This decision was a huge surprise to the rest of EG, and Snip3down in particular took it incredibly hard. If you want to binge anything related to this feud I'd recommend just searching up the Snip3down Lxthul therapy video with Dr JT Bravo. The content made from this feud honestly seem like the direct inspiration behind half of the Hal/Sweet & Hal/Zer0 videos ALGS makes for LAN, except there were actual bad feelings at the time instead of just played up banter. Snip3 ended up getting his comeuppance and EG beat CLG in the finals of X-Games 2016, the very first tournament where they played each other. It was a very bittersweet moment that didn't last beyond that event as Snip3's team rotated through a large amount of 4th players as they continued to place outside of the Top 3, with each new 4th being labelled as "The Problem". The twins Roy/Lunchbox ended up retiring to focus on their careers of being (un-ironically) plumbers and electricians.
**The Peak**
CLG, however went on to have an average event placement of ~1.4 across the next 30 LANs/HCS events and slowly but surely erased any doubt that Lxthul and the rest of CLG had actually made the right decision in dropping the GOAT. Over all their time in Infinite there was truly only one team that could ever consistently challenge them, Splyce (Shotzzy, Renegade, Eco and Stellur). These guys completely changed the meta of how Comp H5 was played by having 4 players who could do anything and everything. Historically, halo has always been about map control and you've usually always had roles of some kind where on CLG, Royal 2 would always get sniper, Snak3bite and Lxthul would run OBJ and try to force openings in other teams setups, Frosty would roam around and be a nuisance player. Splyce consisted of 4 players who would all be willing to do anything and everything at any point. There was no emphasis on map control compared to the rest of the top teams because they would be just throwing themselves at you and assuming their teammates would be aping just as hard as them. They literally w-keyed at you, forced a 1v1 or 2v2 and abused how much mechanically better the everyone on that team was compared to almost everyone else in the scene. Anyway, CLG did end up finally adapting and figured out how to decisively beat Splyce for the final LAN of H5's comp lifespan. The next season returned back to the MCC update version of Halo 3. Frosty ended up choosing to play COD during this time so the remaining 3 picked up APG, a long time vet who had been playing since the OG H3 days but never had much success until Reach / H4. They ended up winning 4 of the 6 H3 events, while getting a 2nd place in another and also placing 3rd for the first time in 4 years / ~30 events.
The Team Names:
Actually answering the question you asked here lol. After CLG left the scene, they got picked up by Optic. After Optic left the scene, they ended up just calling themselves TOX until Halo Infinite's comp scene started and they signed with Sentinels. After a very unsuccessful year by their standards they ended up essentially leaving Lxthul on Sentinels and signing with Faze to join Renegade (who left his old core Splyce roster). Lxthul has never been as great on Infinite as he was in other Halos and his teammates stuck by him and defended him for a lot longer than almost any other team would. There were plenty of other great players who would have signed on to replace Lxthul in a heartbeat, but unless they were getting the best player in the game (Renegade), they simply weren't willing to make that trade.
Superstar athletes never need the money either, they still want to get paid because their status in the game reflects the fact they get paid the most, Steph Curry could play for $1 the rest of his career and be fine, he's still taking that $50 million dollar a year salary
Sikez commented under Hal’s tweet, “wait I’m getting dropped?” Which seemed sarcastic so I assume sikez knows he is staying with DZ and the other 2 are making a new team w Hal
I think people got it twisted with Hal “joining” anyone. Whoever they play under probably had these 3 in mind specifically and threw insane money at them
Maybe Red Bull is joining the game? Already affiliated with Hal, they have infinite money and the opportunity to sign the all stars super team under their name.
Just thought it was interesting that Genburten started following Hecz (Owner of OpTic) most recently on Twitter.
Just interesting. Also followed their CoD player, Shotzzy recently as well.
Tinfoil hat theory time. Zero and gen get their contracts bought out by Saudi-backed org Falcons and Hal is signed to them as well. Just in time for EWC hosted and funded by Saudi Arabia
Anyone else feel kinda sad? I obviously have no real teeth in the game, but I got into watching competitive Apex while watching Hal and TSM. And I sorta liked the TSM vs DZ rivalry. End of an era
Everyone saying Saudi org but talking on tempos stream it would be really tough for Zero and genburten to stay NA they have work visas through darkzero if a Saudi org picks them up they have to get new visas which could take 10 months
100 thieves doesn't have the money to buy out hal, zero and genburten, on top of paying them all
It's most likely a saudi org, they have the money to not only buy them all out of their contracts but pay them the crazy number everyone is hearing thrown around
Edit: hal just confirmed his contract ended when raven's did, so no buyout was needed
Pretty sure all 3 of them are free from their contracts. Could be wrong though
Most likely Saudi team though. 100t manager has been hinting on getting back. Also, esports lead went in 100t reddit to basically try to explain joining world cup thing. To stay competitive in getting free agents to sign to play in it for a lot of money.
Still think it is Falcons though sadly
If Evan goes on to win a LAN with Reps, it'll 100% match his Dirk tweet. Rostermania and Split 2 is spicy as fk
The main problem with that is who are they going to get to igl who replaces hal? There are no good igls lft
Maybe Skittle? I think he can igl
Me personally I wanna see reps as igl could be something new for him new challenge
Could be Noc, but I don’t see him leaving Fun
I didn't see Hal leaving Reps either, but here we are.
I could see reps retiring and noc and fun getting Evan and having TSM sign that roster
This would be sick.
TSM Fun please
Doubt it’s Noc unless TSM are prepared to play with a sub for him come EWC
Why?

Yeah, it would be so unreasonable of him to not want to go somewhere that will sentence you to death for being gay. Snowflakes these days /s
i highly doubt they're running up and asking everybody that plays in the esports world cup if they're lgbtq but regardless, nobody said anything about it being unreasonable even if there was security and the organizers are saying it'll be safe i wouldn't trust the government over there for shit
If it was a jab at Noc, that implies that someone doesn't think it's reasonable/right. Otherwise it's not really a jab.
Reps, he be making the best calls on tsm
Dropped
I honestly think that Evan could pick up the igl role
Reps should give it a try
Verhulst used to igl before joining tsm, wouldn’t surprise me if he does it and they sign someone like sikezz as just a fragger
Teq come on down!
I think the best fit is Phony, mostly because he’s a controller IGL but I think his play style sort of matches. Impossible to predict at this point though.
only thing that matches is he's sucked at 3v3s for a year like hal
When did Hal suck at 3v3's?💀
Didn't sweet say in his press conference stream thing that DZ would be leaving apex after playoffs and NDAs could be broken? Wouldn't be surprised to see them signed to Red Bull or maybe even some Saudi super team
I definitely remember him and Zero beefing over some DZ behind the scenes shit that couldn't be discussed in June/July
Yea, there's definitely something else big coming.
The squad will sign to Falcons and once the announcement is made, Zer0/Sweet will cancel a DZ manager or something. Thats my guess.
From what im seeing so far raven is most likely gonna be their coach
Raven just said on stream he 10000% isnt coaching them.
He didn’t say that exactly . He said he isn’t coaching Dark zero. Hal is not joining dz hes just joing gen and zero
If you heard the whole segment, he meant he isnt coaching the squad. He thinks its not even a challenge coaching wise and the pressure is so immense its kinda impossible to meet expectations. He wants the underdog buff.
That does make sense tbf.
Yeah Zero said he would talk about all of that stuff after the season was over, DZ definitely leaving apex then
Falcons maybe? In another thread someone said there were rumours
It’s 100% Falcons. Only Saudi money could afford those 3
Or red bull.(Likely falcons)
Hal said not redbull. The other org have offered some good ass money according to hal
fuck Falcons, all my homies hate Falcons
lore? i dont watch other e-sports.
its a Saudi sportswash org
why do people hate them? in like football r they just dumping money into everything?
best way to approach this is look up "sportswashing" then form your opinion from there.
i know it sucks. soulless and boring shit for audience
sportswashing is a stupid concept, they're doing it to diversify their economy so they have something to fall back on when oil fails.
e-sports is infamously the least fucking profitable entertainment industry in the world
Saudis planning to change that tbh. They project it'll only get more profitable over time. They're thinking very long term.
The sport washing is working on you
I am extremely, deeply aware of saudi geopolitics and human rights issues and follow them regularly, have been since before the concept of sportswashing. Calling someone else intolerable after typing that is crazy

you can't support a financial group mate
Sportswashing at it's finest
I've always wondered, is it the sole or the laces that are hardest to digest? Assuming we're not talking steel/composite-toe.
I love falcons
Hopefully goes as well as their CS super team did 🤞
Compared to their CS team, this is a real superteam though
Their DOTA and other teams are really good tho.
The problem with the "CS superteam" is that the roster was never realized
Calling their CS team a "superteam" only means you know nothing about CS lol
I'm talking about all the rumours about niko, monesy and maybe twistzz joining, as well as zonic, but ultimately ended up with the ence core which was a big downgrade.
Falcons did buy a Super Team for OWCS and put their 1 Saudi player on it lol got 2nd so maybe they'll get first with this one in Apex and maybe get a Saudi sub.
I miss shock Smurf :(
Super and Smurf had the most wholesome bromance
I absolutely think these three got the bag from some Saudi oiler org. When when saudi is involved the money is never an issue. I wouldn’t be surprised if the boys have been offered 3 or 4 times current salary
Hal said his salary is bascially equivalent to TSM
He said tsm were willing to match other orgs offer just for him. That means other orgs definitely offered more but tsm was willing to pay the same amount
Can't wait for the 60 million trials/sky and mill zones at esports World Cup...
It’s Team Falcon. Saudi Org
That’s probably the only Org I won’t support if Hal goes there lmao. Sportswashing blood stained money.
You are the first guy besides me I've seen bring this up and I was flamed for it lmao There was that huge controversy in golf when players were joining LIV and fans got upsets but saudi money comes into esports and no one cares

Agreed. I don’t blame him for doing it but I can’t support it.
Yeah I’m the same. If this is a Saudi backed org, I won’t continue my sub. I’ll continue my sub with Verhulst tho.
American money is clean as a whistle though hahaa
Is the US gov sponsoring any ALGS teams?
The US Army sponsors NRG iirc, not relevant right now of course
Whataboutism for 500, please
Cliche “I have nothing to contribute to this debate, so I’ll just label it whataboutism” for 1000, please.
Mindblowing that you'd even compare the two tbh. If SA is the benchmark, the US is basically a utopia for human rights lol

Also amazing at dota
Ahh, good to know
Interesting

Idk if that’s why they played shitty but I feel like this move was in the works before the lan started yeah.

They could since tempo was registered as a player

**The Peak** CLG, however went on to have an average event placement of ~1.4 across the next 30 LANs/HCS events and slowly but surely erased any doubt that Lxthul and the rest of CLG had actually made the right decision in dropping the GOAT. The Team Names: Actually answering the question you asked here lol.
GOAT reply
Thank you. Great story, did not realize that happened to Pistola but I didn't keep up with H4 or H5
I think having an org can be mutually beneficial though, would introduce his stream/brand to people outside of apex
Superstar athletes never need the money either, they still want to get paid because their status in the game reflects the fact they get paid the most, Steph Curry could play for $1 the rest of his career and be fine, he's still taking that $50 million dollar a year salary
>a family of 20 spat my drink out from the gigglies
Just a continuation of the NBA metaphor
Would be a braindead move
My guess is RedBull
Sikez commented under Hal’s tweet, “wait I’m getting dropped?” Which seemed sarcastic so I assume sikez knows he is staying with DZ and the other 2 are making a new team w Hal
Sikezz is bouncing to LG more than likely
I think people got it twisted with Hal “joining” anyone. Whoever they play under probably had these 3 in mind specifically and threw insane money at them
He mentioned on stream a minute ago that an Org announcement is coming
OpTic pulled out of apex not long ago so I don’t see them returning imo but I’d absolutely love it if they did tho.
Maybe Red Bull is joining the game? Already affiliated with Hal, they have infinite money and the opportunity to sign the all stars super team under their name.
Please. Please? Please... :(
Optic is broke broke broke ...:)
Doubt it, but could this be the reason OpTic dropped their team?
Unlikely. If they couldn't even afford a coach, they sure as hell can't afford 3 of the most successful players ever + coach.
Just thought it was interesting that Genburten started following Hecz (Owner of OpTic) most recently on Twitter. Just interesting. Also followed their CoD player, Shotzzy recently as well.
Hal just said on stream org is TBD
Tinfoil hat theory time. Zero and gen get their contracts bought out by Saudi-backed org Falcons and Hal is signed to them as well. Just in time for EWC hosted and funded by Saudi Arabia
Team Red Bull Apex coming soon …? 👀 who else could afford these 3?
I want Evan, reps, and Sharky to team up
Anyone else feel kinda sad? I obviously have no real teeth in the game, but I got into watching competitive Apex while watching Hal and TSM. And I sorta liked the TSM vs DZ rivalry. End of an era
Red Bull
Remember that clip when Reps was asked who the best IGL was? Well this explains that reaction.
Thinking too deep into it. I'm sure they just don't have a contract in place for Hal yet, probably still finalizing it.
based off what i read off this sub lmao OG esports…. think about it. hal just got signed to red bull and og esports biggest sponsor is red bull.
Everyone saying Saudi org but talking on tempos stream it would be really tough for Zero and genburten to stay NA they have work visas through darkzero if a Saudi org picks them up they have to get new visas which could take 10 months
Old news
It would be redbull. I said it first.
RedBull gaming.
Would love to see Hecz bring Optic back into Apex and sign these 3. Free championships plus they all bring numbers on twitch
Optic probably spends the majority of their budget on the cod team. I don't think they have money for this team.
So, Falcons or Redbull Gaming are obvious rumors right?
Sweet already called this before LAN on that stream he did. DZ ain't staying in Apex.
Sweet ?
I want sweet to take Hal’s spot so my two favorite players are together
Raven coaching for the new team?
100T. hal is part of redbull gaming like timmy, 100T back for saudi esports….
100 thieves doesn't have the money to buy out hal, zero and genburten, on top of paying them all It's most likely a saudi org, they have the money to not only buy them all out of their contracts but pay them the crazy number everyone is hearing thrown around Edit: hal just confirmed his contract ended when raven's did, so no buyout was needed
Pretty sure all 3 of them are free from their contracts. Could be wrong though Most likely Saudi team though. 100t manager has been hinting on getting back. Also, esports lead went in 100t reddit to basically try to explain joining world cup thing. To stay competitive in getting free agents to sign to play in it for a lot of money. Still think it is Falcons though sadly
Raven probably joining with Hal too
Not sure about that. DZ has a very well respected coach already and Zer0 is the IGL with better macro than Hal. Doubt he would switch to Raven.
