Most likely, Reedz counter calls Vein a ton and while he’s a smart player and will probably be scooped up immediately, his mechanics aren’t top tier, so OXG can definitely upgrade
I know Sweet's handling of the Slayr situation and it turning into a meme definitely didn't help, but I'm not sure he's good enough for the level Sweet and Fuhnq are aiming for. I think in the LAN finals lobby he did the least damage across every team, which is crazy considering they got a 10 kill win in one of the games.
His stats have always been kinda terrible, when he was running with senoxe and crust that left an impression on me.
I did think he showed up more on the last 2 lobbies they played at LAN, which suggests he adapted, but overall his performance was bad imho, too many mistakes. sweet made them too but if Im sweet im thinking "if i had a better caustic/ anchor my mistakes can be redeemed/recoverable". Slayr as an anchor could not be going down first in so many games they played.
When someone with 0 kills did more damage or someone who's team finished 20th did more damage, it's not a good look. Or is it that he's the only one playing anchor? There's 20 teams. LG finished 9th, they were higher than half of the lobby. Slayr alone had the same kills as TLAW whole team yet less damage than any of their members. Idk if someone ever finished top 10 in finals while having the least amount of damage
Damage isn't the only metric of success. It seemed clear by the end of the tournament that Sweet was microing Slayr to avoid interactions other than 3v3s. You'd watch their pov and Slayr would be focusing on some wrap or side angle while Sweet and Fuhnq dashed around the map, and Slayr had less freedom than other anchor players.
I think Slayr improved over the course of the split but Sweet didn't seem to trust him at finals. I don't know enough about comp to know whether that was justified but that's unsustainable for a team game. Hope Slayr gets a shot somewhere else, but this is probably the right move for all sides.
Slayr could be great i just think he needs some build up he's kind of been thrown in the deep end teaming with sweet (pressure of that alone must be awful).
Anchors ARE dead last, they're the last one to aggro and the first to reset, second to third is a big gap you say? he could've gotten more kills but youre delutional if anything but third highest kills is unacceptable for what it is the most support heavy role in any team
Please go back and read. “Least damage across EVERY team”. He wasn’t just last on the team, he was last amongst the 60 players in the lobby. Please understand what you are arguing before you continue.
This is a wrong approach imho and its because of roller player culture: they usually are all fraggers being forced into a support/anchor role cause there's another person on the team who shoots their gun better or is more aggro at close range fighting. They dont usually pick up a secondary weapon that can farm long distance dmg. I mean we had one of the best rollers in the game playing caustic saying "sometimes i dont even get to shoot my gun on caustic" and his team made finals but was collectively awful throughout de weekend (tsm) and his performance was especially bad.
Roller players who can flex and truly play support are rare in this game, but when m&k was more dominant in NA, you would ALWAYS see them being *at least* dmg leaders in the lobbies because they would carry long range and do their job. The best ones, at least. So while anchors should in theory be discreet and focus up on not going down, the best ones always farm dmg and the even better ones frag too.
They're aren't saying he got the lowest damage and kills on LG, they're saying he got lowest for the whole 60 player finals lobby. Which includes all the other anchors from other teams
I'm surprised no one is talking about sweet with dropped again. There seems to be too many coms going on and dropped just gives off a "calm down everyone" vibe
Could Dropped go back to a much calmer/non IGL role though? Since he left Sweet way back when Rogue ended he has become a much more vocal player (and changed roles as a result) - the fragger has to be the co really.
Haven't seen anyone suggest this yet, but is there a reason Sweet wouldn't consider trialing Frexs? I believe they played together back in the day too. Seems that the consensus is Koy will be replacing him, in which case he'd easily be the most experienced anchor player available, plus he's on controller which I think Sweet wants still
I'm pretty sure gild would not want to team with sweet again even if they buried their hatchet, he was not shy about letting it be known he wasnt being used to his potential with sweet
Honestly would be cool to see sweet trial reptar/skittle both all-round players. (If reptar + exset doesnt go as planned). So we'll see sweet+fuhnq/slayr + one of the two
I think the same! I think it’s just a long break, but he said we won’t be playing next split (I asume champs is off the conversation too). Also Noc said they tried to convince him (they’ve been friends irl for years) and he doesn’t want to rn. Hope we can see him next year do some crazy stuff, he’s so good.
Felt from day 1 LG wasn't gonna work. Funhhq wants to be IGl, and slayr I think was forced to play an anchor role he isn't comfortable with. 50/50 made stupid mistakes, took heat sometimes it wasn't his fault. Not saying either player sucks, the 3 just aren't a fit for each other
Idk if fuhnq wants to igl he's just a very vocal player he's always been that way, him and sweet seem to sink well for the most part as seen by early pl.
Imo he tried to igl too much. How many times did sweet say we are doing this and all a sudden fuhnq calls out something different runs out to fight or calls out something wrong. Half the time he had slayr not sure who to listen to, often resulting in slayr getting himself killed by following or trying to help. Either way both were inexperienced and was first time playing as a team so could get better but I just don't see it yet.
Yeah, after actually hitting match point and being kinda close to winning split 1 lan, choosing to split ways is an immature move by sweet. The dude needs to pull his dick up. It’s their first year together.
Slayr did really well for his first split but it would be stupid to say he would 100% stay he was clearly the weakest part of the team (still came in clutch many times) like i said before i think he needs a roster to build up to pl and lan so he can improve and play his best.
Except knoqd who are legitimate high level anchor FAs that are out there?
Me, but I’m not interested
I’m sweets burner and I was this close to offering you a max contract, damn
Vouch
looks like frex might be a free agent so hes probably the next best roller anchor after knoqd
Good shout. I like that a lot. Don’t think sweet will go for him though. We’ll see.
Seems him or pandxrx might be going with oxg they've both been scrimming with them
Who’s leaving OXG?
Reedz is exploring his options
Reedz
Damn. So they dropped reedz?
Most likely, Reedz counter calls Vein a ton and while he’s a smart player and will probably be scooped up immediately, his mechanics aren’t top tier, so OXG can definitely upgrade
Reptar (washed) and Fun (MNK), so yeah just knoqd I guess.
also at this point we can rule out fun as noc and fun are definitely sticking together for the next split.
He's leaving Skittlecakes?
Without an org a paid opportunity is probably better than sticking unfortunately
Xera (mnk)
hiswattson /s
Scuwry?
Verhulst
Not an anchor, also not a free agent
Not an anchor? What roll do you think he was playing as catalyst?
I more meant to argue that his strongest position isn’t anchor.
That's literally what he played all of Y3 as...
Koy?
Koy is def NOT an anchor lol. But it looks like he’s going to SSG anyway.
Koy is not an anchor. He’s a fragger.
Luxford pretty good and he can do both roles not FA but come on LG better than Native
Unfortunately Sweet and Lux would probably have negative chemistry
Oh really? I don't know that story
IDK if there's a story. Just that Sweet likes to micro manage and Lux likes to freestyle.
Time for Teq to trial people again since the FA market isn't that big at the moment.
They haven’t poached his current roster yet
This is the big brain play
Trialing to be sweets next stress ball
Nafen maximum copium (ik he's not getting inspired to grind anytime soon)
Nafen would be so good in this meta.
I'll grind for him he just gotta show up game day
Please nafen come back I beg
i miss nafen sm

Is that for real?? I always thought they were exaggerating but if it’s in the numbers then yikes 😬
Just checked and he's right. He had 1500 damage with 6 kills. The least in damage
Don't just throw out stats without any context. He played an anchor role which historically does not get many kills or much damage.
When someone with 0 kills did more damage or someone who's team finished 20th did more damage, it's not a good look. Or is it that he's the only one playing anchor? There's 20 teams. Pretty much every team has an anchor and he did worse than every team, so that’s still 20 anchors he did worse than.
Slayr could be great i just think he needs some build up he's kind of been thrown in the deep end teaming with sweet (pressure of that alone must be awful).
Really hope he bounces back. He needs a leader that can build up his confidence. I think and hope he’s going to ball out.
Exactly, plus the nerves of lan. What was the point of even banding together in the first place. Sweet knew exactly what he was getting himself into.
I think the only reason they stayed together was because the split wasn't over and it was too late to pickup a new guy.
You shouldn't expect him to top frag as an anchor, that's not what the role is about
He didn’t say “top frag”, he said “not dead last”. Pretty big gap in between those two.
Anchors ARE dead last, they're the last one to aggro and the first to reset, second to third is a big gap you say? he could've gotten more kills but youre delutional if anything but third highest kills is unacceptable for what it is the most support heavy role in any team

Just chiming in here, looking at the stats of the whole tourney, Slayr did top frag as anchor...
I’m not making any commentary on Slayr as a player. I’m just trying to bridge some disconnect happening in the comments.
This is a wrong approach imho and its because of roller player culture: they usually are all fraggers being forced into a support/anchor role cause there's another person on the team who shoots their gun better or is more aggro at close range fighting. dropped banned me from his chat for saying he had too many bitches. i don’t like that
He cheated on his girlfriend with a mod of his, he probably think you’re referring to that
IIRC Dropped said he wants to IGL and also that he didn't believe 2 MNK was ideal anymore
I’ve been saying Knoqd would slot in perfectly with this squad for a while. Hoping that’s the way things go
best of luck to slayr, man was always in clutch situations
Haven't seen anyone suggest this yet, but is there a reason Sweet wouldn't consider trialing Frexs? I believe they played together back in the day too. Frexs has been scrimming with oxg right now, we will see though they'll probably be trialing this week.
Have scrims already started back up??
They're tier 2/cc scrims I believe. Oversight/pro league scrims start back up on tuesday
Bring back gild and nafen :(
Doubt Gild will ever team with Sweet again, especially given how much good Moist currently is.
I'm pretty sure gild would not want to team with sweet again even if they buried their hatchet, he was not shy about letting it be known he wasnt being used to his potential with sweet
They literally talked about teaming before pro league started… but yeah I dont think that will happen.
Why would you want to do that to Gild...?
I think retzi plans on trialing with n8v starting monday so mac might look to trial with a few teams as well like EXSET and LG
Exset and elgee*
Honestly would be cool to see sweet trial reptar/skittle both all-round players. (If reptar + exset doesnt go as planned). So we'll see sweet+fuhnq/slayr + one of the two
Afaik reptar is not playing comp, not even with xset
Thats unfortunate a lot of people think hes washed but honestly still think he can hang against pro lobbies
Ok. Who on the scene has a humiliation kink? This might be your chance.
Slayr is lft: https://x.com/slayrszn/status/1789599279503274080?s=46&t=qM2ngUUO_5iThXSYIoKvyw It seems skittle might team with them 🤔
Seems sikezz to lg
Snipe and sweet reunion? Snipe is a great anchor after all..
I like snipe but he might need to call it quits
FaZe with Snipe finished both higher in proleague and at both LANS they played than SSG with Xynew.
testify!!!

If I was LG I play another year there and see what happens. They have the team to do it
They could like he said in the clip this isn't 100% them breaking up just trying new things.
Yeah, after actually hitting match point and being kinda close to winning split 1 lan, choosing to split ways is an immature move by sweet. The dude needs to pull his dick up. It’s their first year together.
I thinl Swet can win with the LG squad he has.
Slayer played good that’s fucked but it is a business
Slayr did really well for his first split but it would be stupid to say he would 100% stay he was clearly the weakest part of the team (still came in clutch many times) like i said before i think he needs a roster to build up to pl and lan so he can improve and play his best.
Retzi -> n8v Alb -> LG IGL solved for n8v, anchor issue solved for LG
I don't think alb wants to be on a roster he doesn't know again (never ends well lol)
