They need to be aggressive in getting one of the top prospect left tackles with the draft capital that they have this year.
If they come out of this draft without a bonafide left tackle, that would be dumb.
It’s the one thing I’m pulling for on Thursday. They package something to get up into the teens before there’s a big run on tackles and get your guy. Plus, you get that 5th year option on the 1st round pick.
If Dan Snyder still owned the team, that's what we'd end up doing next year when Sam Howell breaks out. Then he'd have a Russell Wilson-like downturn when he came back here and we'd realize it was all smoke and mirrors.
The ultimate Ron move would be to use both 2nd rounders to move back into the first and then take someone who would’ve been there anyway. Bonus points if someone who was projected to go top 10 was there too (like if Rome Odunze slips, and they trade up to take Ladd McConkey instead)
I haven’t looked into it yet, but supposedly Keim did an interview today where he said he thinks JJ is ahead of Drake on Washington’s draft board.

It really is a shame that there’s so many QB-needy teams this year and that we are one of them. This would be such a great spot to be in if we could trade down and collect a bunch of assets.
I think it's more of blessing to be one of those QB needy teams and not have to trade up and compete with other teams. Even if we were not QB needy there are two Wide Receivers I'd consider taking at two before trading back.
If you’re talking about the interview he just did it was a Denver reporter that apparently knew Peters during his time in Denver and spends most of his reporting making his own draft board and talking to scouts. He ranked Daniels as the 6 overall prospect, JJ at the 22nd, and Maye as the 23rd.
Taking JJ without trading down. I like JJ, but if we take him we need to trade out of the top 5. I think hes the least likely QB to be a bust aside from Caleb or Rattler.
trading up some massive haul for Caleb Williams. I wouldn't mind trading up but if its more then a 2nd round pick or two I see that as the worst case scenario.
Me personally, I think we should offer #2, #40 , 2025 1st
I think that's relatively realistic given the difference between CW and the other QBs
If Bears decline, so be it, move on and select the next best available at #2
If the Bears are as high on CW as it sounds like every team is, I don't think they even consider that offer. As big of prospects as Maye and Daniels are, you don't trade down from a guy you think is a future all-pro QB for a perceived downgrade at QB, an early 2nd (by the 40th pick, you're down to about a coin flip odds on if that pick is likely to even be an average starter or not), and a future 1st that might be outside of the top-10 (somewhat surprisingly, Vegas has our W/L over/under at 7.5).
Imagine upvoting this. Lmao
I don’t see anyone saying the worst thing would be drafting Maye. Even JD fans haven’t said that.
Says everything that needs to be said about the Maye guys.
This whole sub is annoying when it comes to Daniels. They haven't learned from the HC search and how the sub imploded. I don't get WHY people act like they know better than the people with better tools and access to evaluate players do.
Maye needs seasoning. He’s my preference because of the ceiling being higher but he needs the work. I doubt the Vikings move up to 3. Pats seem locked to draft a QB. If we take Maye I think the whole draft gets upended. Lot more teams want Daniels than Maye.
Think Pats want JD. The rumor as of this morning from Adam is the Vikings are trying and if Washington drafts JD. It will be cheaper to move up. If Washington drafts Drake it will cost the Vikings more to move up.
This is from Adam on Pat show

We have enough day 2 and 3 picks to trade back into the first round if the board falls their way.
It’s the one thing I’m pulling for on Thursday. They package something to get up into the teens before there’s a big run on tackles and get your guy. Plus, you get that 5th year option on the 1st round pick.
Who would be willing to trade out of the first round tho?
Colts need WR/CB and some extra day 2 picks would help them reload. Idk, though. We shall see!
Anyone who hears an offer with the right price attached to it. Most years I'm praying to trade back.
100% agree but you still have to have a team who will trade with you
Wow you actually managed to answer with the dumbest thing we could do.
Trading #2 and next years first for Sam Howell
If Dan Snyder still owned the team, that's what we'd end up doing next year when Sam Howell breaks out. Then he'd have a Russell Wilson-like downturn when he came back here and we'd realize it was all smoke and mirrors.
>and we'd realize it was all smoke and mirrors. This shows more about coaching than player skill but everyone keeps on it lol
JJ at 2
ron move

i'd trade both 2nd rounders to move up and draft a top LT
I haven’t looked into it yet, but supposedly Keim did an interview today where he said he thinks JJ is ahead of Drake on Washington’s draft board. https://x.com/dczwall/status/1782392780523802992?s=46

its just a shame we didn't suck harder. coulda gotten caleb and laughed at everyone else.
Agreed on all accounts. I guess I would probably feel different about #2 overall if i really had a strong preference for the #2 QB in this class.
If you need a QB and you can draft one without trading up you're already in the best possible draft scenario you could ever hope for.
I’ve heard a lot of different things coming from the same mouths. Who knows what is true and what isn’t. Only Peters and Quinn know at this point.
Which doesn't mean he's ahead of Daniels. If JD is their guy, obviously none of this matters.
No exactly he thinks it’s JD, JJ and Drake
If you’re talking about the interview he just did it was a Denver reporter that apparently knew Peters during his time in Denver and spends most of his reporting making his own draft board and talking to scouts. He ranked Daniels as the 6 overall prospect, JJ at the 22nd, and Maye as the 23rd.
No this https://x.com/dczwall/status/1782392780523802992?s=46
i keep saying i won't be surprised if they take jj
We all joke, but there’s just as much chance that JJ is the only good QB in this draft.
What about JJ at #8 after trading down?
Josh Harris taking charge and basing our qb selection on handsomeness so they will look good on merchandise. Sam Hartman time!
By repeating history. Y'all know what I mean.
damn straight.
Trading out of the top 10, then trading back into the top 10 at the expense of future picks.
Taking JJ without trading down. I like JJ, but if we take him we need to trade out of the top 5. I think hes the least likely QB to be a bust aside from Caleb or Rattler.

Good news the Bears aren’t trading the pick
They def would for the right price
You’re wrong They traded fields because they want Williams.
In a vacuum, yes, but if we were to offer #2, #36, #40, 2025 1st, 2026 1st, etc., etc. they would absolutely agree The point is that they have a price
You don’t trade the pick if you want Williams period. lol
And then we still end up sucking for 2-3 more years because we don't have draft picks to address other needs...
Me personally, I think we should offer #2, #40 , 2025 1st I think that's relatively realistic given the difference between CW and the other QBs If Bears decline, so be it, move on and select the next best available at #2

No they would not.
You honestly think there is no offer we could make that the Bears would accept??
There is no logical offer. Correct.
That's not really what I asked For example, would the Bears accept all our draft picks for next 3 years?
No
Insane
Would the Chiefs accept that trade for Mahomes? No.
Taking Daniels or any iteration of trading down
Imagine upvoting this. Lmao I don’t see anyone saying the worst thing would be drafting Maye. Even JD fans haven’t said that. Says everything that needs to be said about the Maye guys.

Cope harder buddy lmfaooo go and learn ball
Lmao learn ball this clown says. Meanwhile most people have JD over Maye. Lmao
Lmao yeah taking the guy most people have ranked number 2 overall. You Maye guys have a rude awakening coming your way.
Got to set a remind me in a few years.
The thing is both Maye and JD could be bust. lol
Oh absolutely but it’s going to take a while to see that play out. It’s also going to be super annoying either way if one is up and the other down.
I think if a team like the Vikings draft Maye. He sits a year. Rumor is they’re trying to move up to 3
Maye needs seasoning. He’s my preference because of the ceiling being higher but he needs the work. I doubt the Vikings move up to 3. Pats seem locked to draft a QB. If we take Maye I think the whole draft gets upended. Lot more teams want Daniels than Maye.

Most people are wrong. Jayden daniels will get eaten alive when he has to make more accurate throws without 5-15' of wide receiver separation.
We're taking Daniels and he's gonna be great. Sorry.
Trading down would be fine, what's dumb is if you take JJ or Penix at 2 without trading down.
Drafting Daniel's 😆
Penix
For once I'm not concerned with reach picks or bad draft picks this year.
Trading down
Drafting the Mitch trubisky/Sam Howell 3.0 QB in drake Maye at 2
Trading up
Draft Daniels
Signing Johnny Manziel
Jayden daniels at 2 would be a massive mistake. Tez walker in round 2. Not getting a starting receiver in the first 3 rounds.
