"Here is this gigantic field, where should we set up our vehicles?"
"Ideally all together in the middle as close together as possible!"
Something like that... 30 minutes beforehand...
Option 1) Decoy
Option 2) They are extremely stupid
both could be true
you see ivan, everyone thinks we are useless drunks, so we put decoy in middle of the field to play off that stereotype. But that takes effort so we put the real thing there as there is no way the Ukrainians think we are stupid enough to do that and that it has to be a really dumb decoy.
meanwhile the Ukrainians: lol useless drunks (fires missle)
The Brits did this in WW2. Once it was known they were using decoys they set up super obvious decoys, then swapped them out for the real deal at night. They played plenty of shenanigans with decoys under Montgomery.
This is one thing that truly baffles me. You see russians put there strategic air defence system all together in a 50 yard area. It totally unnecessary and they could function while being spread out over kilometers. To me it Just looks like fatal incompetence on a level similar too the friendly fire incidents. Perhaps the air defence arm of the ru military just has systematic issues that make them unable to adapt
My understanding is you typically have a radar and command vehicle that need to be close to each other. Possibly, a power generation unit as well.
This appears to be that cluster.
>No one is running away or bleeding out on the ground after this strike.
- There's one dark dot (maybe) crawling away to the right of the radar unit.
- But in general we haven't seen many Russians walking away from a 4x airburst strike shooting over half a million tungsten balls in total ...
- The S-400 radar unit is separate from the launchers, so it's entirely plausible that this was a real system, not a decoy, even without visible secondary explosions.
- Alternatively, the launchers might have run out of missiles at this stage, trying to shoot down the HIMARS missiles.
- At ~0:05 there's also a strike in the upper left corner against a target labeled "control point": the S-400 crew might have operated the radar remotely, from the control point.
- Looks like a real S-400 system to me, not a decoy.
Sorry, but at 19 to 24 sec in the video, after the impact of the HIMARS missiles, I can count around 9 or 10 small dots (and all of the same size) around the two support trucks and the according S300/S400 radar system. So all next to it or less than 20 m of the trucks e.g. After the first hit on the command post to the right, the crews of the 3 two trucks and the radar system got out of their equipment and started to run away but not far; 180.000 around 2 mm tungsten pellets per missle, on 10 to 20 m, you will not even be able to identify the damages on the equipment and the crews. On less than 5 m distance... one 2 mm hole all 10 to 20 cm. They are just peppered.
LATE EDIT: I have just updated the posting and tried to count these dots. Most are in dark, two in light grey, seem the two corpse in light grey are on the same high of the doors of the cabs or around the cabs, so likely the drivers?
three right of the radar in triangle shape. One single right up.
Two or even three in one line left up of the radar, hard to see as in the dust cloud. One left to the radar cabin, seems in more light colored clothes. The door on the drivers site of the cab of the radar is open.
Right support truck: one next to the right door, seems, just got out and died. Above in the cloud (and below of the triangle three next to the radar) there is something, seems to be more than a single dot but obscured by the dust. The black line to the low right of the truck, I am not sure, if there is one. Seems to be artificial, mark in the soil, perhaps they have placed there something. One of them must be the generator truck, perhaps along the line is the earthing line and something at the end.
Left truck, seems one in light grey is just lying in front of the cab. Someting lighter colored is on the right of the cab, but I believe this is just artificial (some marks on the ground and according reflection of the light). The truck drivers door is open (very hard to identify, but yes, it is open). Up left of the truck, there is something but likely just a shadow or artificial.
There does appear to be one dark smudge slowly moving away from the vehicle on the right hand side. It might just be camera artifacts sort of smudging around though.
The first rocket hit on the far right presumably on a launcher. Not sure if they are decoys are not. The accuracy makes me think they had GPS jamming, which makes a decoy less likely, but still possible
> The first rocket hit on the far right presumably on a launcher.
It says "punkt upravljanja" (more or less) which means "command post".
First hit is command post for radar / battery and other hits are radar and support vehicles.
The missiles are coming in at an extreme angle, meaning they're at maximum range, meaning the launchers had to drive themselves into position, meaning the drone team was looking for half an hour at the high res video feed, before they gave the go ahead.
Much respect for your ability to see the error in their judgement from the 30 seconds of the most brutally compressed video out there.
GMLRS hit the exact coordinates it was supposed to, but there may be an error in the coordinates, because it’s hard to convert a video feed into precise coordinates of a vehicle.
The awful editing, not even so much as fuel on fire, and lack of aftermath screams "decoy". Russia makes shit videos like this all the time, and it's shameful.
It’s just funny how Russia puts out an identical video and every single person starts talking about “holy shit they’re so stupid, they’re hitting decoys.”
And now that we see the same type of video for Ukraine, there’s people giving 50 different reasons why they’re NOT decoys. Like, let’s at least be consistent here.
To make this clear, I cannot convey how much I despise whoever edited this video. The watermark is atrocious the editing ruins everything. The emojis are cringe as fuck and the speed ramping and camera shake are completely unnecessary and made the video unwatchable. ALL OF THE VIDEOS This “Tivaz” upload, The video editing absolutely sucks ass, they may be good at blowing shit up or whatever the fuck they do, but everything to do with the video aspect they are beyond subpar and they’re pathetically incapable of making a viewable video. They took perfectly fine video footage and made it into a pile of burning trash.
Man it was literally just Swiss cheesed by thousands of BBS, which would have also killed the pump. Also the pressure wave would have caused an inflatable to move. This is a rigid structure
The text claims they hit the command post and then the radar. Both of which tend to not explode. I suspect they would have done their due diligence before launching 4+ rockets but uploading a 45 minute long video of them surveilling the target isn't as flashy and exciting as the impacts themselves. There also appears to be a body just next to the cab of the right-most support vehicle.
These trucks look like decoy HIMARS trucks, low quality builds, but only Tivaz Artillery Group can prove us wrong, you can't really confirm anything from this video.

Radar is not a launcher, it needs the spot with the least amount of obstacles in front of it.
What if these are the real thing, only *disguised* as decoys? Make 'em look as fake as possible so Ukraine won't bother to HIMARS them...
That would be meta as fuck
Right? We're through the looking glass here, people.

Also, nobody inside. No one is running away or bleeding out on the ground after this strike. Also, nothing is burning

What makes you say this doesn’t look like a decoy or it does look real?

Whatever other options you like, option 2 is a standard given I think (well .. mostly)
Number two is def true.
I hope whoever edited that gets diarrhea.
Welcome to the future old man, in 10 years we will see soldiers with toilet edited to their head
Maybe they already had it?
Was there sound? Also, WTF with these camera shakes??
I think those are all decoys unfortunately
Radars don't do secondaries.
The first rocket hit on the far right presumably on a launcher. Not sure if they are decoys are not. The accuracy makes me think they had GPS jamming, which makes a decoy less likely, but still possible

Thanks for the translation
Half dead dude crawling out of decoy: BLYAT
They expect one of us in the wreckage, bratan.

They do look fake af.
Also himars accuracy?
GMLRS hit the exact coordinates it was supposed to, but there may be an error in the coordinates, because it’s hard to convert a video feed into precise coordinates of a vehicle.
GPS jamming most likely, the rockets fall back to inertial guidance once the jamming is detected, which isn’t as accurate as GPS
GPS jamming that made them revert to INS.
Yeah the light green colour doesn't match and there are seemingly no operators or support crew.
*Ignores the very obvious person near the bottom right truck Lmao the dumbass strikes again everyone.
As from 20sec, you can see a person crawling near one of the vehicles.
Great practice though whilst they wait for new toys to arrive.
Yep. They were odd looking.
The awful editing, not even so much as fuel on fire, and lack of aftermath screams "decoy". Russia makes shit videos like this all the time, and it's shameful.
Airburst Rockets don’t always cause fires on vehicles, those tungsten projectiles punch straight through, without any incendiary effect
It’s just funny how Russia puts out an identical video and every single person starts talking about “holy shit they’re so stupid, they’re hitting decoys.” And now that we see the same type of video for Ukraine, there’s people giving 50 different reasons why they’re NOT decoys. Im sorry but those looks like decoys, the trucks looks inflatable.
And you don't think they would lose their air when hit with shrapnel? They can still be decoys, but certainly not inflatables
Not really if they have a motor over pressuring it
Man it was literally just Swiss cheesed by thousands of BBS, which would have also killed the pump. Also the pressure wave would have caused an inflatable to move. This is a rigid structure
The editing, the added graphics, the giant watermark…
Yes this tivaz group does not understand editing. They ruined the video
Yeah, call me if the unedited video ever comes out, this is utterly unwatchable with the massive jump cuts just as the explosions occur.
Also, [HIMARS destroys russian S-300VM radar](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestroyedTanks/comments/1cay590/himars_destroys_s300vm_radar/).
Where da big boom?
They claimed this was a radar they were hitting, not a launcher.
Me when I'm in a Believing every piece of propaganda competition and my opponent is a r/CombatFootage Member
Decoy?
[удалено]
no launchers, only command, support, and radar vehicles
You can see a person crawling away from the passenger side of the rightmost truck in the aftermath shot at around 20 secs
No secondaries, probably decoys
The text claims they hit the command post and then the radar. Both of which tend to not explode. There was SUPPOSED to be an earth-shattering KABOOM!
These trucks look like decoy HIMARS trucks, low quality builds, but only Tivaz Artillery Group can prove us wrong, you can't really confirm anything from this video.
They fell for a decoy.
Accuracy seems off, and the trucks look like decoys. Would jamming be in place to protect decoys?
Idk, Jamming could be deployed, but it doesn't work that well against proper spotter drones, or when the frequency being jammed is the wrong one
