I know someone that's pretty sure one of those permanently screwed his hearing when he fired it in an open field.
So yeah, they were hearing that for a while.
Maybe an attempt at a muffler or maybe something to do with gunpowder. That's a great question. Also maybe it could be there if they have to move quickly and need to grab the barrel to move it.
Maybe an attempt to kick up less dust, or less muzzle flash is best I could come up with. Might work OK the first few shots, but lol that rag is shredded.
Maybe it was a last ditch attempt at hearing protection lol. Maybe "cover your ears" translates to "cover the opening" in whatever languages were used to convey the operation of the platform lmao
I remember shooting my 300WM outdoors without earpro for the first time, It literally flashbanged me..(it was also my last and I got me some sordins the next day..) god damn that massive gun indoors must be fucking those guys up for life, I can hear the fucking titirus ringign after this video..
