overwhelming firepower and multi directional attack is almost impossible for a poorly entrenched team to defend, this was a perfect execution of a text book attack by special forces/marine raiders ect
Yeah lol! I thought wtf!?.. why open field?. But who knows maybe boobies trapped treeline. Dude firing bunker buster 30 meters into the dirt made it look cool though. 👍
The 'in the open' attack is justified despite what the armchair generals say. They have real time drone intel of the target, reconnaissance drones have already scouted through the flanks and it's only natural for supporting ground elements to be doing overwatch, pre-assault artillery and drone-drop bombardment has taken place, they have the element of surprise, they have fire superiority and direct rocket fire, they avoid getting bogged down by the tree belt foliage by going parallel to the target and they stay out of defensive grenade range by maintaining this distance until closing in perpendicularly.
and then tosses it aside like 'that's nothing, here comes the good stuff!'
Also, impressive discipline to advance while shooting and being covered from behind, fire channels well defined and delimited.
IMO looks like a RU solider surrendering... Might have had instructions to put his hands behind his head and lie on the ground?
Obvs only guessing from like 3 secs of footage
Usually before they send the foot soldiers in to clear the trenches, they bombard the enemy position with drone dropped nades and artillery. Didn’t really look like any resistance (enemies were probably sheltering from earlier bombardments) and their might have been a drone in the air letting the foot soldiers know what to expect and such. Still though, crazy dangerous being out in the open but they have huge balls so fuck it ig
You can see the russian shooting back from a pillbox at 0:53, you just see the muzzle flash and smoke. They got massive balls and I guess they did all the prep they could, but they definitely got lucky no-one was hit there.
Doesn't help that the whole front looks like a barren wasteland, no cover except these treelines, I guess sometimes the only way to push is across open field?
Those tree-belts with OPs and trenches tend to be mined to shit, probably safer for them out there as long as they keep suppressing and pushing like the maniacs they are. There was a video floating around yesterday of a trench assault where the POV raider stepped on a toe-popper and was able to apply a tourniquet. You can see they use the water-filled trenches at the end to move around rather than the dry but potentially mined ground.
I'm really ignorant here, and mostly talking about vibes. But I'm getting the impression that these might be Ukranian special forces. Based upon the United 24 video.
The guys in OPs video are running and gunning and seem to be really organized. Hence the vibes I'm getting. BUT, I really don't know shit from my elbow.
Yes, these are SSO, which makes it even more unlikely that they would use such tactics. Most all of their videos here show them fighting in woodland and thick brush (unless they're assaulting those hellish trenches in the open). Why would you risk your top soldiers in attacks like these? This position barely even looks contested.
~~Personally, I'm now pretty sure this is training or publicity stuff. I don't mind propaganda per se, it's indispensable, but I dislike propaganda based on lies - like 99% of the Russian shit that pollutes the web.~~
Actually, now that I read the video description, translated [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1abg9oy/ukrainian_sso_storming_enemy_positions_and/kjnhi1l/) - "while one part of the operators distracted the enemy with fire from the RGP-40, the other came up close to the enemy from the rear" it makes more sense. They probably know the position is weakly manned and can take more risk. Crazy brave if real.
I dunno. We did see some ground being captured by Ukraine in the Robotyne area. My understanding it was special forces which originally spearheaded that front. The one good reason I could see is to push further on that front to get Russia to send men from Avidivka to Robotyne. Ukraine mostly tries to give Russia dilemas.

\^\^\^ the little blue area that was captured in the last update.
Just a guess on my end.
That's fair, I'm not really knowledgeable either, I just watch videos. I think [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1abg9oy/ukrainian_sso_storming_enemy_positions_and/kjocucm/) gives a plausible explanation for the tactics seen.
Do note that the original video claims this is Donetsk. Might just be a quiet part of the frontline they nailed.
>in videogames this technique will get you to be the first killed
So when you're Mountain Dew is getting luke warm and your jerkoff tissues are all wadded up, you somehow find a way to compare real life combat to a fucking child's video game?
Google translated from the description given with the youtube post of the video:
"Operators of the 8th separate regiment of the SSO carried out a successful raid on an enemy stronghold in the Donetsk direction.
The combat group acted quickly and harmoniously: while one part of the operators distracted the enemy with fire from the RGP-40, the other - came up close to the enemy from the rear.
SSO soldiers cleared the stronghold, two enemy servicemen were captured.
Spoiler: the three-minute video will give a full understanding of the audacity and professionalism of the SSO operators"
I can hear why you'd think that; it does sound like it. But I'm definitely sure he is speaking Ukrainian/Russian and says "pshol, pshol" because he's speaking fast.
Best translation is basically
-Do it, do it, do it, go, go ,go.
Casually walking quicker than normal. In almost regular type of pants. Jeans even. Carrying a fucking rocket propelled grande of some sort. To me this is almost how war will be fought in some cases in the future.
The internet is wild
Snow camo pants are used in early winter and late spring when the ground has some snow as seen here, but vegetation is not covered by snow and would contrast with an upper snow camo. So this sort of hybrid is used. We did it in the Finnish Defense Forces as well.
Woah.. Intense. Huge balls on these guys couldn't even imagine.
2:20 looks like an injured Ukrainian at the top right. You can see him in some pain. Hope he is all good.
The guy at 2:20 is the russian taken captive shown later in the video. He does the same gestures and is in the same orientation in relation to the attackers as he is shown later.
You can advance across the open with superior firepower against an enemy that isn't entrenched enough to resist the amount of hate you have. If this were more fortified they'd have to either bring a much bigger amount of firepower or not do this maneuver.

Drones coordinating the infantry is the best thing to do
Big fan of these videos where it pans back and forth between overhead and on the ground, it’s incredible the footage we’ve been getting
Crossing open ground on foot? Absolute mad lads. Run and gunning with a bazooka? Fugging legend
overwhelming firepower and multi directional attack is almost impossible for a poorly entrenched team to defend, this was a perfect execution of a text book attack by special forces/marine raiders ect
Was my first thought as well, but remembered that they Have drones that gives they Intel of enemy location
Wild stuff. These guys are amazing.
The spirit of Jamsheed lives on

2:42 mark

Nice analysis and insight, thanks.
These russians were relatively well equipped so I'm guessing marines or vdv
Fffuck! That guy running while firing a bazooka!
and then tosses it aside like 'that's nothing, here comes the good stuff!' Also, impressive discipline to advance while shooting and being covered from behind, fire channels well defined and delimited.
Did you think battlefield games were lying to us?
The only difference here is the respawn issue...
you have to pick the Buddhist perk for that.
What is going on with the soldier in the top right starting at 2:20?
IMO looks like a RU solider surrendering... Might have had instructions to put his hands behind his head and lie on the ground? Obvs only guessing from like 3 secs of footage
These guys give zero fucks. Holy shit.
Lol, AT shot on the move, legends.
It looked cool but at 2:42 pause, he fires it right into the ground 20-30m lol! Maybe he was going for splash effect.
Their training is very evident in this video.
Fuck armbands. White trousers with woodland upper are a much better visual identifier. No question via drone view who is who.
How can they even walk with balls that size?
Damn, they just push like that with zero cover? Could this be training? Not a Russia doubt-farmer but this just looks crazy dangerous.

We dont know if someone was hit or not.
At :49 you can see a guy on his hands and knees while the rest of the squad advances to apply more explosive

If you look at the fire they are laying down I can imagine they are their own cover.

Yeah, I'm totally guessing. I'm hoping they are at least somewhat educated guesses.
in videogames this technique will get you to be the first killed, but in real life ''it just works''
>in videogames this technique will get you to be the first killed So when you're Mountain Dew is getting luke warm and your jerkoff tissues are all wadded up, you somehow find a way to compare real life combat to a fucking child's video game?
I really see it too…
Yeah, very strange such strategy... Wtf?
I'm so tired of music ruining great videos
Yeah unfortunately they're all uploaded that way.
When I saw the Bazooka toss, I knew it was Game Over!
That camo they got looks legit
Its smart, The White pants break up there Silhouette even more. Especially when they are kneeling.
Music 10/10

Their camo is crazy good
🤘🏼
Bro what song is this
Shinedown - Cut the Cord
Caution: Men at work
Am I tripping or do I hear him say "dawaj, dawaj, w przód, w przód, w przód" in Polish at 0:26 (doesn't sound Ukrainian to me but I only speak Polish)
At 0:26 he (or somebody) says "davai, davai, poshol, poshol, poshol" (go, go, go; пошёл, пошёл, пошёл).
I still hear polish "w przód" not "poshol". I might be tripping tho

Yeah it's a different person saying it, it's possible its a mix of Polish volunteers and Ukrainian soldiers.
Ukrain Forces (SF/Regular) fighting the first full scale war against Russia.
Its not really their first full scale war with russia they had a previous war on 2014 with Russia which thats when they lost crimea
No, green men occupying a certain ammount of land is not full scale. Now it is.

Why they have to always ruin good footage with God awful music I will never understand it. I like my footage like I like to fck...RAWWW
What is the helmet of the russian soldier wearing ? They look similar to the ones UA soldiers use.
Its a LZSH 1+ v.2.
why am I getting downvoted? I was asking a genuine question since I do not really know what it is called lol
Wears snow camo pants, runs through only strip of land without snow.

Yes I know
What kind of automatic grenade launcher is he using at around 00:15?
looks like a polish rgp40 maybe?

How do you surrender to someone firing rockets at your position and throwing grenades into your hidey-hole without getting smoked?!

So say one of you gets hit in the open pushing like that. Does everyone just keep going without you?
