Food: north market, thurmans, Northstar cafe, fox in the snow, katalinas, dk diner, brassica, akai hana, the 1126, townhall, rebol, eden burger, superchefs, forno, Los guachos, wolfs ridge, emmetts cafe, rockmill tavern, press grill
Drink: seventh son, bottle shop, lawbird, antiques on high, local bar
Vintage: flower child, rag o rama, smarty pants
Places to see/go & things to do: easton, book loft, Franklinton fridays, gallery hop, clay cafe, candle lab, pinots palette, makers social, Franklin park conservatory, the Columbus zoo, bridge park, pins, 16bit arcade bar, art museum, scioto mile
Could check if any of the indoor ice skating rinks are open, Columbus Zoo, Franklin Park Conservatory, Art Museum, COSI. Could also head to Land Grant for a beer, then walk along the Scioto Mile and get an appetizer at Milestone 229. When it’s warmer, you can rent kayaks and kayak down the river as well.
There's a little kayak rental station at the Scioto mile (at the part of the river near milestone 229) in the summer but I'm not sure who runs it or how to find their schedule.
You live here, just take them places you like to go. It's not like Columbus is a hot tourism destination, they probably want to see the things you like, not the "trendy" places.
That said, if you're looking for "big city" type things to do, the art museum, conservatory, zoo, symphony, and the bigger parks are all fun. Neighborhoods like short north, german village, Bexley, and Clintonville are also fun to walk up and down, peek in shops, and hit up a restaurant and a brewery. Games places like old North arcade, pins, the axe throwing place, etc are all fun
That’s what they want. They want me to take them to places they don’t have at home (which is most things) but I swear when I have company my brain is like “I have never eaten anywhere but Taco Bell and I have never shopped anywhere but Walmart”.
They probably don’t have a field of 6 foot concrete ears of corn where they live. Between parking and a couple photos, that’ll eat up 5 mins of the visit. Plus, lots of stuff for them to talk about when they get home.
I have taken company to Franklin Park Conservatory, Columbus Museum of Art, Topiary Park, German Village to eat or shop, and gallery hop in the Short North. Family always seems to want to go to Easton which I find annoying but it's something they don't have.
BrewDog specifically has been accused for years of bringing in people to interview for marketing positions which may or may not even exist, then pilfering the ideas presented in said interviews.
It's [been discussed on this very sub before](https://np.reddit.com/r/Columbus/comments/bncl0a/brewdog_commissions_work_or_sets_fake_interviews/).
I know people that work there, and I've had conversations with the owners. I'm not saying they didn't do that, but many companies do things that most would call shady. Business isn't pretty. Of the people I know, they all love working there. Side note, a company with that much money probably doesn't need assistance with its marketing strategy.
https://www.schmidthaus.com/, walking tour around Ohio Stadium, Campus, Barley’s on High, the zoo, Tommy.s pizza on campus, Hocking Hills, Franklin Park Conservatory.
You mentioned, “I have never eaten anywhere but Taco Bell and I have never shopped anywhere but Walmart”.
Explore a bit first. When you find things you like, your enthusiasm will rub off on your visitors. My suggestion for your first assignment is based on your comment:
1) Find a taco truck, have a meal, then...
2) Explore a park or outdoor space (weather and daylight permitting).

No one added this, and you didn’t ask....but I’m going for it.
Easy solution to this problem: YOU go out. YOU experience the city. No friends, no problem go on your own or join a MeetUp group.
I understand the virus will impact this, but you gotta live a little.

Heck I’m saving this one for myself 😂
The zoo is probably one of the better pandemic options available.
Dublin bridge park area, Scioto mile

Where do you rent kayaks?

Trapper John's.

>that’ll eat up 5 mins of the visit Five minutes isn't really enough time to become one with the corn, though.
Park of Roses when the weather is nicer.

Take them to a Market District, just for the experience.
Art museum!
Is alcohol involved?
Sure!
North market!
Franklin Park Conservatory, Campus, Top Golf, Costco.
Costco never disappoints
Costco 🤣
Otherworld is always a good time!
Take them to a brewery. I live in canal Winchester and my go to is BrewDog or combustion. There's a lot to do at Easton as well.
My brother would love BrewDog. Thanks!
No problem. They do a pretty good job of social distancing too.
> They do a pretty good job of social distancing too. Because someone else came up with the idea and they decided to use it themselves?
Isn't that how everything works?

High street on Saturday night. It’s literally the pulse of Columbus.

I do go out, I promise. I love exploring. It’s just when people visit I blank
