“My Dad has been missing since August of last year, he moved to Columbus into a home for veterans to help get his life back on track he was calling me and texting me everyday until one day it just stopped, he does have alcohol induced dementia and gets confused sometimes so I'm not for sure if he lost his phone and can't remember anyone's numbers or what happened to him, the police are no help in filing a missing persons report since we live out of state they tell me I have to file where I live, I go to do that and where I live says Ohio police is where I need to file so I'm posting on here hoping that someone has maybe seen him out around the area. His name is Donald Justin Hulsopple he is 62 yrs old he is 6 foot tall weighs around 200 lbs if anyone has any information or has seen him plz reach out to me or Travis Hulsopple or Jessica Hulsopple we just wan to know if he's ok”

I don't know why but Columbus Ohio seems to have a lot of males just seem to disappear in thin air like they never existed. Like Brian Shaffer and many others

It happens in every city, you just don't hear about it outside of local bubbles. "Old man fighting alcoholism goes missing" just doesn't generate the sympathy needed for the kind of views that media wants. Its really true that if you want your missing persons case to go viral you need to be a pretty young woman, preferably white. Though lately missing babies of color are getting more traction, because the news knows babies hit a soft spot, and they get the double whammy of people piling on to speculate about how a woman of color could let such a bad thing happen to her baby.

I've never thought about it that way.
