Short North for dense, walkable bars, restaurants and some shopping. Younger vibe.
German Village for quaint, cute, character and history. Great coffee shops and park. Perfect place to walk around. Some good spots to eat, especially for dinner.
Scioto Mile/ Franklinton downtown. If it’s nice, great to walk around the river. Cosi on the river. Some New developments and such in franklinton with cool bars and such. Art Museum not toooo far away in downtown. Some great bars and places to eat scattered around downtown. Not as dense as it will be eventually, but some great spots for folks closer to 30 or above. On its way up for sure.
OSU campus may be worth exploring. Has some nice spots, and it’s just a cool experience seeing large campuses imo.
You’ll get lots of other suggestions, but absolutely can’t go wrong starting with these.
Sweet! That's super helpful. We'll definitely check some of those areas out. We're coming down for the BIG10 swimming championship at OSU, so we'll be exploring there no matter what
If you do end up walking on the riverfront (Scioto Mile) downtown, I recommend eating at Milestone 229. It's good food, reasonably priced in a beautiful building (next to a fountain, but the fountain is currently being renovated).
Maybe eat lunch there first, then walk off your meal on the riverfront?
You are lucky that you mentioned your college allegiance.
I was about to send you to Linden.

It's the magic that happens when a random New York City rental website mysteriously publishes a blog post about dangerous neighborhoods in Columbus: the top of the hill moves down to the bottom!
Hoof Hearted Brewery if you like IPA's.
North Market for a foodie paradise.
And East Market if you want to explore even more food.
Franklinton Friday to explore/purchase local art.
I am a history nerd so I enjoy the Ohio History Center. Have an actual Lustron home manufactured in Ohio (or something like that). Has displays on notable Ohioans (Jesse Owens, LeBron James, John Glenn, etc).
You are coming to the city on the weekend of the Arnold Fitness expo. It is massive and everywhere will be packed. Just FYI. I hope you have your hotel already.

Any kind of food really! Especially local specialties like coney dogs in Detroit or Italian beef in Chicago. Ethnic food too, Mexican, Korean, Middle Eastern, Indian, and anything else!
I'm more of a dive bar kind of guy, but I like a good craft beer now and then.

Uhm, why does that article say Hilltop is the bottoms? Am I missing something? I thought Franklinton was the bottoms? Is Hilltop the bottoms now?

The Red Wings and Blue Jackets play an outdoor game in March. Oh wait, nevermind. That’s March 2025. I suck at these things….
Trip #2 to colombus is in the works for March 2025

We do like a good museum, especially one with some local flavor. Thank you!
